Taking its name from a 12th – 13th-century Italian mathematician, the Fibonacci sequence is a string of numbers whereby each number in the sequence is the sum of the two numbers that precede it. How Does The Fibonacci Roulette Strategy Work?
First of all, we need to know what the Fibonacci sequence is. As I explained in the introduction, each number in the sequence is the sum of the two preceding numbers. This means that the sequence can have any starting number, but for simplicity and the fact that these will be the betting amounts, we will start at the number 1, so here is the Fibonacci sequence.
1 – 1 – 2 – 3 – 5 – 8 – 13 – 21 – 34 – 55 – 89 – 144 – 233 – 377 – 610 – 987 – 1597 – 2584. This sequence can go on forever, but I’ll end it at 2584, as that is more than enough for what is needed to demonstrate this strategy.
Again as with other methods we have covered, such as the Martingale strategy, and the D’Alembert strategy, the Fibonacci requires you to place even money bets only, so that would be 1-18 or 19-36, odd or even, red or black.
So your initial bet would be €1 on red for example. If this were to win, you would place the same bet again. As with all of these progression-based methods, they develop when you begin to hit a run of losses.
When you do hit a losing spin, you move one position up through the sequence, so hitting five consecutive losses from the start would mean your next placed bet would be €8. When you hit a winning spin, you drop back two places in the sequence and place that bet, so if we were to win on the €8 stake, then the next placed bet would be for €3.
If you work your way through this sequence and get back to your initial starting stake, which in our case is €1, then you will have successfully made a profit of €1 ( the profit amount will be your initial starting bet size )
Can I Beat The House With The Fibonacci Roulette Method
Whilst the Fibonacci Roulette Strategy is one of the more bankroll-friendly progression methods, it will not have you winning your fortune and taking the casino to the cleaners. Due to the nature of this method, once you get past the first three bets, you will still be out of pocket even if you hit a winning spin. In fact, the further you make your way through the sequence, the worse it will get. Hitting a long losing run will then see you having to go on an equally long winning streak to get anyway near the initial three bet sizes so that you can recuperate your losses or make a small profit.
When you put this strategy up against the Martingale, it is a much safer method as you don’t have to double the amounts, which can quickly add up to the 100s or 1000s when you hit a losing streak. The plus point of the Martingale is that when you do hit a winning spin, you will recoup all of your losses and make a profit in that one spin.
The Fibonacci Roulette Strategy would certainly provide entertainment when playing at considerably low stakes, but using this method with bigger bets would prove to be a mistake. You run the risk of hitting the table limit if you go on a bad run, and much like the other Roulette strategies out there, they have a far better chance of working in your favour over a very long period of playing time. The reality is that most sessions are pretty short, and the house edge will take its toll and leave you far from breaking even, let alone making a profit.
