20p Roulette Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
Several years ago, we posted several of the so-called strategies for playing roulette successfully. Unfortunately, none of them will guarantee you a profit, of course, but this is undoubtedly one of the most perfect games to experiment with in between sessions down at the Bookmakers! But let’s not forget – roulette allows you to place bets in a quickfire manner, certainly when compared to other card-based table games.
Things get a little bit complicated when it comes to the minimum/maximum stakes and the resulting odds and wager amounts. Just see the list below for example:
Minimum Bet €0.20 Per Spin:

Columns, Dozens & Even Money Bets (€1.00 Per Spin)
- 2/1 – Max Stake: 10,000 Chips: Full Column (A, B, or C)
- 2/1 – Max Stake: 10,000 Chips: Dozens (A, B, or C)
- 1/1 – Max Stake: 10,000 Chips: Red and Black (36/37 numbers covered)

As you can see, the betting range when playing this game is determined by the size of your wager. The riskier bets are cheaper than the even money and low-paying options, so many players simply like to cover a large section of the board and hope for the best.
The chips are always worth €0.20 each, but you can place multiple chips in the same position up to the limits described above. That means the “Straight Up” bet can theoretically cost up to €200.00, whilst betting everything on black would allow you to place as much as €10,000 on a single position. Of course, you could always just flip a single 20p piece onto the felt and hope for the best!
A Brief Aside
This game is either the inspiration for, or was inspired by, the 20p roulette game developed in the aftermath of the UKGC regulation changes in 2019. Those changes forced players to only spin once every 30 seconds, as well as limiting the value of each round to just €2.00 – that’s only ten chips!
To get around this, the developers of the FOBT version of 20p roulette opted to include a slider which determined whether your paid-for bet would go ahead. I’m not sure this was a fair or even legal solution, if I’m honest – if you win the bet (a roughly 1 in 10 shot), then the game applies a multiplier of up to 50x to the value of your chips. This configuration effectively returns the game to its previous state of “technically”, allowing players to bet up to £100 per spin – the only difference is that it may only cost them £2 for a shot at the jackpot! Of course, the downside is that the slider will often land in the red zone, meaning your funds are lost without you ever playing the game. There’s every possibility you could try and get a spin for three dozen bets in a row with zero success.
Base Game & Modifiers
Let’s skip back for a moment though – perhaps you have never even played a game of roulette! Whilst all chips have the same value of €0.20 each, it’s possible to place them anywhere on the playfield or even on the lines that intersect multiple numbers if you wish.
There are many ways to play Roulette, as you may have gathered in the previous section – you can put a chip on a single number for the highest odds (and lowest chance of success!), or you can go for smaller pairs, quads, columns, or groupings which will divide the prize by the number of positions each chip intersects instead. The premise of the game itself could not be more straightforward – when the ball lands in a pocket with a number matching your chip placement, you’ll be paid out following the values described on the paytable.
Throughout history, various scientists and downright geniuses (I’m looking at you, Einstein!) have spent considerable time working on the problem of beating this game, eventually using mathematics to prove that doing so is impossible. Take it from me – they were absolutely right!
20p Roulette Bonus Features
Unfortunately, no bonus features are included in 20p Roulette.
Pros
- A well-presented version of an extremely popular gambling classic.
- Includes both regular and racetrack betting modes
- Uses the far preferable European layout with a single zero rather than the American convention of having two or even three zeros on the wheel
Cons
- Clicking 50 times to reach a €10.00 bet is extremely frustrating.
- Once you’ve mastered the various betting options, there isn’t really much to see in the computerised versions of the game. I’d stick to Live Roulette myself.
Final Thoughts
This is a nicely drawn game of roulette, although the omission of higher value chips seems a little strange – is Inspire trying to give the impression that this is a low volatility, low variance version of roulette? Remember, the maximum win is only 35x your bet, and you can only get that by picking the exact number that will land during the next spin. It’s difficult to appreciate the appeal of roulette, but as versions of the game go, this one is reasonably better than average.
