3 Buzzing Wilds Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
In the opening paragraph, I wrote that bees and flies could be really quite annoying at times – few people would dispute this, in my opinion, but you would never know it from browsing the slots on offer at the major online casinos! The reel set used in 3 Buzzing Wilds comprises five columns of four rows each, spanned by 20 fixed paylines. That’s a relatively small number for a playfield of this size, so Pragmatic Play has wisely chosen to group symbols into stacks to avoid the game returning too many dead spins. This also makes it much easier to win on a large number of paylines simultaneously. All prizes are awarded for landing three or more matching symbols starting from the leftmost reel.
Special Wilds Modifier
On any base game spin, one of the following modifiers can activate at random:
- Random Wilds: One or more wild symbols are added to the playfield in random positions.
- Expanding Wilds: The wild symbols which land in view during a round will expand to fill their entire reel.
- Surrounding Wilds: A single wild symbol is added to the reels randomly before the eight adjacent positions are also transformed into wilds.
3 Buzzing Wilds Slot Bonus Features
When three or more bonus scatter symbols land on the screen during a single round, the game will award the free spins feature. Before your free spins begin, the game will ask you to pick which modifier will be active during the bonus round.

Selecting the ‘random wilds’ will give you 10 free spins, whilst the ‘expanding’ and ‘surrounding’ wilds lower this to eight or six free spins, respectively. Additionally, any wild symbols added by the modifier will become sticky and remain in place for the duration of the bonus round.
Unfortunately, I did find that the modifiers did not activate as frequently as I would have expected during the free spins. I guess this is inevitable, given that the resulting wilds are kept on screen for the remainder of the feature, but if you don’t hit a modifier or two early on, then it can be very difficult to win anything substantial.
Bonus Buy
If permitted within your country or jurisdiction, a bonus buy facility will be displayed to the left of the reel set during the base game. The cost of using this option is 100x the current stake.

Final Thoughts
Three different bonus features, all with sticky wilds, should make 3 Buzzing Wilds an ideal slot for fans of high-variance machines – the 5,000x jackpot cap is a little disappointing though, as you could potentially far exceed that amount during a lucky set of free spins. It’s still a fun and exciting game though!
