Something I think that should be pointed out straight away with this game is that I had trouble running it at a decent speed on several different machines – it could just be that it is an early release, but when a current generation ThinkPad is struggling to run a simple online slot in Chrome… it does seem like something is wrong. I had to struggle hard to get even determine all of the features in 5 Pots O’Riches video slot – the introduction screen was useful here, explaining the “Lucky Leprechaun” feature which awards a prize when a leprechaun lands above a reel, the “Pots O’Riches Free Spins”, which is activated when a bonus symbol lands on a reel topped by a leprechaun, and the “Emerald Wild”, which will randomly add a number of additional wild symbols to the reels after the current spin has completed, creating additional win opportunities.

5 Pots O’ Riches Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
Okay, we cannot possibly talk about leprechaun-themed online slots without referencing the Rainbow Riches franchise which has been such a massive hit for SG Gaming. There are seemingly endless games in that franchise alone, and that’s before we get to games such as Plenty O’Fortune by Playtech, another huge mega hit which pretty much gathered steam purely on the back of the success of IGT’s earlier titles. Nevertheless, a good game is still a good game, and the happy theme of most leprechaun-based slots usually brings a smile to my face. On a personal note, Rainbow Riches was actually the first online slot machine I ever played too, so there is definitely an element of personal nostalgia here as I review this new game from Blueprint.
The paytable didn’t want to appear on my laptop for some reason – a bug in the demo? It’s hard to say, but it loaded without issue on both my smartphone and tablet. Just for the record, I even tried a second laptop but had no more luck there. Payouts are listed in terms of multiple of stake, although this isn’t made clear on the paytable by use of an “x” symbol and is something that Blueprint should surely fix – it may sound like a simple omission but winning 5 “coins” of some imaginary value is a very different proposition from winning 5x your bet. The top symbol is the leprechauns hat, which pays out a chunky 1,000x your current stake for a full line of five-of-a-kind.
The wild symbol matches this, with 150x and 50x being paid for four or three-of-a-kind respectively. You’d think things would drop off quickly with pay outs as high as this, but there are also two further symbols – a harp and a beer jug – which pay 500x for five-of-a-kind as well. It’s possible that I am understanding some part of this pay table wrong, as I never did win any of these huge combinations during testing, but I checked my lower winnings against the other numbers shown and everything matched up as it should, so I guess a lot of RTP has been assigned to the base game in this slot.
You have a total of eighteen options for your wager size in 5 Pots o’Riches online slot, beginning at €0.20 at the bottom end and topping out at €100.00 for the biggest high-rollers out there. There are only a few options above €5.00, however, as seems to be the norm these days, so if you like to high roll, you had better hope you have the bankroll to keep on spinning at €80.00 per spin unless you want to be forced down to a measly €40.00 per spin like a pauper as your funds begin to dry up. Oh, the shame!
Base Game & Modifiers
All gameplay takes place on a standard 5×3 playfield, including both the base game and free spin feature. I was actually very surprised to learn that this was a pay line based game, as it looks like the kind of online slot which would fit perfectly with a pay ways model, but this certainly explains the much higher than expected pay outs that I found on the paytable during testing.
Lucky Leprechaun Feature
This is a nice simple modifier which is triggered any time you land a leprechaun on the main reels whilst a pot of gold is located directly above him on the special row of bonus symbols. When this happens, the leprechaun will greedily collect the funds for you, and add them to your balance. Whilst the game doesn’t specify any limits for this feature, from what I saw the prizes awarded here are generally between 10x – 100x your total stake.
Emerald Wild Feature
Again, the game doesn’t specify how many wilds can be added to the reels by this feature – perhaps there is still a little work to be done on the help and information pages of this game before release. We don’t lie to you here at demoslot.com – if some information is missing, we will not make it up. Our personal experience whilst testing the game showed that you can you expect to receive between three and five wilds when an “Emerald Wild” symbol appears above a leprechaun on the special bonus row above the reels, but it is possible that more wilds can be awarded – we just have not seen any evidence of it during several thousand test spins.
5 Pots O’ Riches Slot Free Spins Feature
Finally, the game also includes a free spin-based bonus feature that feels a little easier to catch than most other online slots. This is because you don’t need to land multiple scatter symbols to trigger the feature, but just a single leprechaun directly below a “Bonus” symbol on the special feature row above the reels.
The name of this feature feels strangely familiar… I wonder why this could be? There are no special features offered up during this mode, but the pay outs were already very chunky already, so this isn’t something I personally would complain about. A few free spins with the possibility of winning 1,000x my bet from a simple line of wilds? Sign me up!
Of course, I say “a simple line of wilds”, but your chances of seeing this combination are actually vanishingly small. Good luck to you though, you’ll need the luck of the Irish – but I heard that comes for free with this game, so no problem there!
