6 Wild Sharks Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
The underwater realm has long been a staple of the online slots world but has never quite reached the same kind of trope territory that themes such as Ancient Egypt have done. Playtech’s Great Blue was wildly successful, thanks to its – for the time – potential to set new records in the non-progressive slot category. You shouldn’t find yourself desperate to mute the sound in the 6 Wild Sharks video slot.
My personal solitary gripe with 4ThePlayer’s choice of math models remains in 6 Wild Sharks – there are no payouts attached to the wild symbol itself. The scatters, too, have no payout either in this game, which does bother me a little but may not matter to some players who prefer that this RTP be allocated to the regular symbols or bonus rounds instead. This is clearly what has happened in the 6 Wild Sharks slot game because the top regular symbol pays out 30x your stake for a full line of six – that’s a massive number for a game with so many pay ways. This is the exception to the rule though – there is only so much RTP to spread around, after all, so the remainder of the picture symbols returns just 6x, 4x, and 2.5x for a six-of-a-kind. Don’t be disappointed though, because all symbols other than the wild are stacked on all six reels.
True to 4ThePlayer’s typical style of catering for players with any sized bankroll, the minimum bet in 6 Wild Sharks slot is just €0.10 per spin, though the maximum is surprisingly large at a mammoth €50.00 per spin. We suspect that some casinos may be averse to such high risk though, so don’t be surprised to see this capped at a lower level at some casinos. This shouldn’t be a problem, however – a low minimum bet is inclusive to all players, whereas a reduced maximum will probably only ever be noticed by a handful of the biggest of slot-playing whales.

The base game in the 6 Wild Sharks online slot doesn’t have much in the way of modifiers going on – the twist in this game is the choice of “classic” or “advanced” modes. If you choose to play in classic mode, it is very much a case of simply waiting your turn to hit the scatters and playing your free spins. Advanced Mode Feature
Flip the game into its advanced mode, and the slot will highlight two “Wild Zones” where you can purchase sticky wild symbols which will remain in place during both the base game and the free spins. These are of course extremely valuable, and each one you add significantly increases your cost per spin. Adding wilds on adjacent spots will also increase the cost of wilds you added previously, so be careful to keep an eye on the exact total your spin is costing you when you add these locked wilds to the reels.
For example, you can spin with a fully wild first reel for 8x your normal stake. Add a wild on the second reel, however, and the price of all four wilds on the first reel will double. Add a wild over on the right-hand side in the other wild zone, and you can suddenly see the price per spin rising to 30x what it was initially.
This is a complicated feature – you can only add six wilds to the reels, and placement is key to success. Computing where the best spots are to place your six wilds is a tricky task, even for the most accomplished slots player. Working out if it is worth the price tag is even more fiendishly difficult. It’s easy to see why they labelled this feature as “advanced mode”!
Is it worth trying? Absolutely! That being said, we would advise caution before adding the maximum number of six wilds to the reels on every single spin. Furthermore, we have to re-stress the importance of always being aware of how much you have remaining in your bankroll before every spin of the reels.
6 Wild Sharks Slot Free Spins Feature
The buoy symbol is the scatter in the 6 Wild Sharks online slot, and thankfully we don’t have to debate whether it’s pronounced “boy” or “boo-eee” as the American’s like to say just to discuss the features of this slot! You only need two of these symbols to trigger the bonus, which sounds great in principle.. the problem is, they only appear on reels three and four!
Whether you are playing classic or advanced mode, you can retrigger your feature by hitting two more buoys on the centre-most reels, too. This occurs quite regularly, although sadly you only receive three extra free spins each time it happens.
Classic Mode Free Spins Bonus
The classic mode free spins bonus is essentially just the advanced mode of the main game, but you get it for free courtesy of the scatter symbols. You can add wilds to reels one and two to guarantee yourself a win of some size every spin, or you can add wilds to the later reels to help ensure that shorter combinations become six-of-a-kinds.
The only drawback is that each wild you add to the reels reduces the number of free spins you will receive. Add no wilds, and you receive 15 free spins. Add the maximum of six, and you get just one spin. It’s difficult to say where the ideal tradeoff point is – two or three wilds is probably my favourite choice, but you will have to experiment yourself to find your preferred mix of sticky wilds and free spins
Advance Mode Free Spins Bonus
If you had several wilds locked in place on the reels when the scatters dropped in advanced mode, you likely paid heavily for that spin. It’s only right then, that your bonus should be fantastic too, isn’t it?
In advanced mode, you get ten free spins with all of your locked wilds in place free of charge. You do not get the option of adding additional wilds to the reels as you do in the classic mode, which is a bit of a shame – some players might have been willing to trade some of those ten spins for a couple of extra wilds.
Nevertheless, any advanced mode free spins bonus with the maximum of six locked wilds should result in a tidy result for you – but it may cost you dearly chasing just a single occurrence of this particular set of events. Tread carefully – there are sharks in the water.
6 Wild Sharks Slot Review Final Thoughts
4ThePlayer has done it again with 6 Wild Sharks, creating a slot that has new and interesting ideas, and an advanced mode that will delight those who enjoy spending time working out probabilities and slot mechanics. It’s a shame there aren’t more modifiers in the base game or a few more options in the advanced mode free spins. Perhaps 4ThePlayer are saving these ideas for a potential sequel someday?
