9 Burning Stars Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
I can’t really say too many positive things regarding the theme of 9 Burning Stars™ – it’s very average in this regard. However, the presentation is excellent, and the game looks professional and well-produced. The trouble is, every slot player has seen stars, lucky sevens, and a handful of royal symbols a million times before. Games such as NetEnt’s Twin Spin boast a similar theme to this one and looks even better, although it could be argued that the feature set of 9 Burning Stars™ is somewhat more in-depth than that offered by NetEnt’s machine. I can’t understand why developers continue to pump out endless fruit-themed games in an era where the only limits to what they can create are their own imaginations.
First up, whilst the winnings detailed below may seem relatively small, they can often be boosted by a multiplier of between 2x and 10x if a multiplier symbol appears on the reels during the same spin. These symbols appear as a hexagonal symbol with the multiplier value inside them. The highest paying regular symbol is the lucky seven, which has a return of 10x the current stake whenever five or more of them appear anywhere on the reels, but strangely there does not appear to be any premium paid for hitting MORE than that minimum of five symbols. The star symbol takes the second-placed spot with a return of 5x for all five of those, after which there are only the royal symbols making up the remainder of the regular symbols. The cash symbols look like coins and have no immediate payout, but their value will be copied onto the bonus matrix displayed as a 3×3 grid towards the top-right of the slot when they appear. Once the bonus matrix is full, the Hold the Jackpot round is triggered.
The demo version of 9 Burning Stars™ permits bets of between €0.10 and €10,000 per round, although I suspect that these limits will not match those offered in the real money version of the game when it launches.
Base Game & Modifiers
The base game is straightforward – the 3×3 playfield contains nine reels which all spin independently of one another, and you’ll need to match five or more symbols anywhere on the grid to score a win. With nine positions, this means that you cannot hit multiple winning combinations during a single spin.
Keep your eyes peeled for the cash symbols during the base game, as these are what you need to trigger the Hold the Jackpot bonus game. Each time a cash symbol appears – represented by a yellow circle with the appearance of a coin – its value will be copied to the bonus matrix displayed towards the top-right of the slot. Once the matrix is complete, the Hold the Jackpot Bonus Game is triggered.
Volatility Select™ Feature
The symbol showing three chillies on the left of the spin button allows you to control the game’s volatility. A single chilli means less volatility, meaning that you will win smaller prizes more regularly, whilst all three chillies will give you the best chance of winning the maximum prize – albeit at the cost of hitting fewer smaller wins along the way.
9 Burning Stars Slot Bonus Feature
The main “Hold the Jackpot” bonus game is where all the big winnings in this slot can be found and is triggered by filling the bonus matrix during the base game – see the previous section for details. When the bonus game is triggered, you are granted three spins with which to win as much as you can. Each new symbol that lands on the reels will reset your remaining spins back to three, whilst the feature will end if you run out of spins or complete the entire grid with bonus symbols.
The bonus game uses a different symbol set from the base game, containing only cash prizes, jackpot prizes, and bonus symbols. The jackpots include the MAJOR (150x), MINOR (50x), and MINI (20x), whilst the bonus symbols can multiply the value of all of the other symbols.
A “Collector” bonus symbol accumulates all the cash values currently shown on the screen before applying a random multiplier of between 1x and 9x. Next, a “Mystery” bonus symbol can transform into any other symbol except the collector, whilst the “Jackpot Mystery” bonus symbol will randomly transform into one of the three jackpot symbols. You can hit several of these symbols during a single bonus round, but the overall winnings can never exceed 1,500x the bet.
Finally, the best symbol of the whole feature is the GRAND jackpot symbol, which will immediately pay the game’s maximum win of 1,500x the current bet. Your remaining feature will be immediately forfeited as soon as this symbol lands, and the top prize will be added to your casino balance.

There are four levels of bonus buy that you can activate on 9 Burning Stars if the feature buy function is available in your jurisdiction. These are as follows:

Wazdan has created many slots that include their “Hold the Jackpot” bonus round, and whilst this is a very well developed and produced online slot, I’m not sure if the low maximum prize may be a little off putting for players that come across this game.
