Alpha Eagle Demo Slot (Hacksaw Gaming) Slot Demo & Review

The wild north beckons! The game info page of Alpha Eagle proudly proclaims, and rightly so too – this sure is a pretty-looking game, decorated by wild eagles that can soar high above the land and sea. It’s a glorious setting to win some big money – think 10,000x your stake maximum, provided via 20 fixed pay lines and a 96.27% – 96.44% RTP, depending on the game mode used.

The Alpha Eagle video slot contains a handful of features, including Hacksaw Gaming’s trademark Stack’N’Sync feature, whereby symbols are duplicated onto adjacent reels followed by a free re-spin. There is a golden version of the Stack’N’Sync feature also, which guarantees a full screen of five stacked reels with high-paying or wild symbols. I’m fascinated to see how that one pans out! There is a regular free spin bonus round, too, triggered by hitting at least three FS scatter symbols and a three-spin feature that uses an entirely different reel set featuring only eagle and multiplier symbols.

That’s a whole lot of features to see – why not fire up our free demo slot of Alpha Eagle below and see how many you can hit! This can be accessed and played anytime on your desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.

Paytable For The Alpha Eagle Slot

The term “Alpha Eagle” is often used to describe premium products such as motorcycle and flight helmets. This isn’t surprising if you know much about the various breeds of eagle; the bald eagle is featured on American bank notes as well as forming part of the presidential seal, partly due to its status as a formidable bird of prey. The animals are opportunistic feeders that subsist mainly on fish, which they will swoop down and grab from the water using their powerful talons. They also build the largest nest of any bird species and can sometimes be up to four metres wide and over a metric ton in weight. All quite incredible, really!

Back to the slot, however, and I think it’s time we check out some numbers on the paytable! For a game with just 20 pay lines and a 5×4 grid, I was expecting some reasonable hits here, so I was slightly concerned to discover a full five-of-a-kind pay line of the highest-paying wild symbol was worth just 25x the current stake. The highest-paying regular symbol, the adult bald eagle, also pays just 25x for a full pay line, whilst the baby hatching from its egg is worth a little less at 15x for all five of those. A red, slightly less alpha eagle will pay you 10x the current stake for five-of-a-kind, whilst the fish and feathers both return 7.5x for a completed pay line of those. Nothing exceptional then, as it turns out – but why not? If you are worried, you shouldn’t be – all will be revealed in the bonus rounds section below.

Players of all types are well catered for by Alpha Eagle, as the minimum bet is a more than reasonable €0.10 per round, whilst the maximum bet is more than sufficient at €100.00 for each paid spin.

Base Game & Modifiers

Win Up To 10,000x Your Bet In The Alpha Eagle Online Slot From Provider Hacksaw Gaming

There isn’t too much to talk about in terms of the base game – all of the high-paying action is tied up in the game’s many bonus rounds. Keeping this section short then, we have a slightly enlarged 5×4 playfield, which makes the 20 fixed paylines seem quite sparing given the area they must cover. No surprises in terms of the payout mechanics either, with winnings being awarded for hitting three or more matching symbols starting from the left.

A base game modifier or two would have been nice to see, but I guess there just wasn’t any RTP left for that with the large number of primary bonus rounds. Let’s check those out now, then, shall we?

Alpha Eagle Slot Bonus Features

Alpha Eagle is stuffed to the brim with special bonus-triggering symbols, so don’t be surprised if you find winning pay lines being blocked by random scatters on a regular basis. That’s just the price you have to pay in a game like this with so many features, I’m afraid! Let’s take a look at them all one by one.

Stack ‘n’ Sync Feature

A single “SNS” scatter symbol will activate the Stack’N’Sync feature. When this happens, the reel where the symbol lands will be copied onto one or more of the other reels, and both symbols will then be fully stacked with one symbol from the paytable.

The game will then award you a free re-spin, and if you can land a further SNS symbol on that re-spin, the process will repeat, with the new stacked symbols guaranteed to match the old ones.

If you can repeat the process a second time, you are guaranteed a full screen of matching symbols for a payout of up to 1,000x the current bet.

Golden Stack ‘n’ Sync Feature

A golden version of the “SNS” symbol is also present on the reels, and drops in more regularly than you might expect, given its potential value. By my math, the minimum win from this feature should be around 150x the current bet, which isn’t bad considering you only need a single triggering symbol!

Furthermore, the golden version of this feature can also be boosted by a multiplier of between 2x and 100x the current bet – that should mean that you can hit the game’s maximum winnings cap of 10,000x the current stake from this feature. Good luck; I hope you do!

Free Spins Feature

Another set of scatter symbols have an “FS” logo imprinted on them, but these scatters only show up during the Stack’N’Sync features, meaning you must first get lucky and hit those for even a shot at the free spins. Considering this, I sure hope you have the ability to use the bonus buy function in your region if you enjoy this part of the game!

For me, however, the free spin mode isn’t much different to the base game. Sure, the new reel set has additional SNS and golden SNS symbols on them, but apart from this, there isn’t anything extraordinary about this round. I guess that Hacksaw was saving the best until last.

Eagle Link Feature

The eagle’s talons symbol only shows up in the base game, and hitting three of these will trigger the game’s ultra-premium feature – the Eagle Link bonus round.

In this mode, there are two phases – collect and payout. In the collect phase, you have a three-spin feature where you need to collect golden eagle symbols for multipliers and regular grey eagle symbols for sticky wilds. The rest of the symbols have no value in this part of the game. It’s important to mention that the golden eagles also act as a link symbol, with each grey eagle that lands horizontally or vertically to it remaining in place once this part of the bonus has ended. Any eagle symbols not connected to a link symbol will not be carried over into the second part of the feature.

In the payout phase, your three-spin lives are reset to full, and all the sticky wilds you hit during the collect phase will still be in place. I managed to hit almost a full screen of eagles on my first attempt at this bonus and came out with a win of nearly 1,200x my stake as a result of that. Undoubtedly, this is the best part of the game, but the price to access it directly in the bonus buy facility reflects this.

Bonus Buy Feature

The bonus buy facility has four options, some of which may even be UKGC compliant… sadly, the beast of the features certainly are not!

First up, for 2x the regular stake, you can boost your odds of triggering one of the bonus games by 300%, which is a fairly good deal considering the cost. I’m not sure I would play this mode every spin, but it may be worth a dabble now and again.

Next, you can go straight for the SNS bonus at 10x the current stake, but sadly there is no option to purchase the golden SNS mode. I’m not sure why Hacksaw chose to leave that choice out, but I guess you’ll have to wait for it to land organically!

Finally, the two main features – the free spins and eagle link bonus – cost 100x and 200x the current bet, respectively. The eagle link is definitely the superior bonus round, and I may even consider paying 200x for that, whilst I wouldn’t bother with the free spins in this game. It just isn’t very special, even if it does make it much easier to hit the SNS features.

Alpha Eagle Slot Review Final Thoughts

This is a great game, but just for once I can see the UKGC’s point of view when it comes to bonus buy features; the option is just far too risky in a game like Hot Rod Racers, but if you stick to the base game, you will have plenty of fun.
