In our review of the original Ashoka slot from Elk Studios, we covered who Ashoka was in great detail, so for the sequel, I’ll just give you a quick summary. He was a powerful individual who ruled a large chunk of Asia in the 3rd century BCE and was a big reason for the spread of Buddhism in the region. There’s no point going overboard on the finer points as Ashoka Eternal is the follow-on to that excellent first release and, therefore, has the same theme. Ashoka Eternal Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
As a reviewer, and I’m sure for you guys as players, you learn which slot developers are renowned for creating titles packed to the hilt with features, modifiers and bonus games. Elk Studios is undoubtedly one of those that, as soon as I see it is behind the latest slot I’m reviewing, I know I will have a lot to get through. The paytable is probably the easiest aspect of this slot to explain, so maybe I’ll ease you in with that before indulging you with the many features you’re about to come across. The highest value symbol is the Big Cat and is worth a maximum of 250x the stake if you complete clusters of 16+ symbols. That’s double that of the 125x return you’ll receive for a same-sized cluster of Red Gems, with the Green and Blue Gems following and worth up to 100x and 75x, respectively. The low-paying Red, Orange, Green, and Blue mahjong-style symbols share a 50x the stake max payout.
As commonly seen on an Elk Studios slot, we have 12 staking options, ranging from a low of €0.20 to a high of €100.00. This is a betting range that seems to work for the developer and appeals to punters of all-sized playing budgets.
Ashoka Eternal Slot Base Game & Modifiers
The gameplay occurs across a 5×7 grid, but that can increase to 7×9 upon removing blockers that expand the grid. There are no paylines to form winning combinations across, as instead, Ashoka Eternal is a cluster pays slot that pays when five or more symbols are connected in clusters horizontally or vertically. Symbols involved in winning combos disappear, and new ones fall into place, potentially creating further wins.
Blocker Symbols & Grid Expansion
Blocker symbols appear at the top and bottom of the grid on every spin. Any winning combinations created adjacently to one of these symbols remove it. If all blockers are removed from the initial reel configuration, the grid expands to 7×7, with blockers now appearing in the first and seventh columns. If those are removed, the grid expands to 7×9 with blockers on the top and bottom rows.
Multiplier Block Symbols
Some blockers will have multiplier values, and when they’re removed, that value is added to the global multiplier for that spin, displayed on the Multiplier Wheel to the right of the grid.
Multiplier Wheel
The multiplier wheel mentioned above has 12 positions, some of which feature activation symbols. Activating the global multiplier requires the wheel to stop on one of those symbols. It will move one position to the left after every win recorded on the grid during the spin. If a spin progresses to the point, all blockers are removed, and the grid is 7×9, the wheel stops moving, and its multiplier is activated for the remainder of the spin.
Wild Symbols
There are three different wild symbols on the Ashoka Eternal slot, the first of which is a regular wild that substitutes for regular symbols when wins are possible. The other two also perform that role but also have the following powers:
- Big Wild: These can land 2×2 or 3×3 in size and represent clusters of 4 or 9 regular wilds, respectively.
- Charged Wilds: This type of wild symbol has a charge that details how many wins it can participate in before it’s removed. They can have charges of up to three.
Big Symbols
Like the Big Wilds, regular symbols can land on the reels sized 2×2 or 3×3. If they land on top of empty cells, they transform them into the same type as the big symbol.
Redrop Symbols
If a Redrop hits the reels, one regular type of symbol is chosen as sticky while all other positions are re-dropped.
Ashoka Eternal Slot Bonus Features
The bonus symbols required to trigger the free spins bonus games are within the blockers. These are collected when winning combinations occur adjacent to them.
Free Spins Feature
Once you’ve collected three regular bonus scatter symbols, you’ll receive 8 free spins on the standard bonus game. Each new bonus symbol gives you an additional 2 free spins during this feature, while the global multiplier will not reset between spins.
Super Free Spins
Alternatively, if one of the three collected bonus symbols is a super bonus, you’ll receive the same number of spins on the upgraded bonus game. During this game, the multiplier wheel has double the chance to activate the global multiplier.
X-iter Bonus Buy
The Elk Studios X-iter buy bonus options for this slot are:

Ashoka Eternal Slot Review Final Thoughts
Askoka Eternal shares many features that helped the original slot score 8 out of 10 here at Demoslot while offering an expanding grid, the Multiplier Wheel, and a Super Free Spins bonus on top, too. While none of those additions make much of a difference to the core stats (they’re both almost identical in that regard), they certainly ramp up the gameplay experience.
