Aztec Trailz Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
The Aztecs are a category of online slots that have proven immensely popular with providers and players alike over the years. We’re over at the paytable next, and there aren’t many symbols to tell you about. What is important to note here is that each individual symbol is worth a set amount, so if you achieve 30 in a winning combo, that amount is multiplied by its value. So, starting at the top, we have the Explorer worth 0.4x per symbol, the Mask at 0.3x, a Spirit Bird valued at 0.2x, Miquiztli worth 0.1x, and a Carving paying 0.05x. There’s also a self-titled wild symbol that will substitute for all other game symbols except the bonus scatter.

The Aztec Trailz slot gameplay begins on a reel formation of 5×4, with each spin initially delivering 25 symbols onto the playfield. Wins are awarded when four or more symbols match adjacently anywhere within the grid.

If four or more symbols match from the bottom up to the 4th row, then a Trailz will be formed. When this occurs, a new row will be added above it for extra chances to win. This will continue until you no longer improve your win, in which case you’ll return to the default reel format of 5×4. If you reach row 5, a win multiplier of x2 will be added, increasing by a further x1 for each additional row after that. If you manage to hit 70 rows high, you’ll be awarded the jackpot of 10,000x bet.
Trailz Enhancers
At specific points throughout extra rows being added, enchanter symbols can be achieved, which are as follows.
- Add Wilds: This will add between 1 – 4 wilds in random positions on the row it is awarded. The wild may sometimes move to continue a Trailz. Other random wilds may also appear on a row in addition to those awarded.
- Add Wild Row: Will add a full row of wild symbols.
- Plus Rows: This guarantees a Trailz will continue upwards between 1 – 3 rows.
- Symbol Swap: Will swap symbols from the Trailz active into a position so that the Trailz continues.
- Symbol upgrade: Turns all symbols within any Trailz that reach that row into the next highest symbol on the paytable.
- Bonus Guarantee: If this is reached, the player is guaranteed to trigger the free spins feature.
- Lifeline: Awards a respin if you fail to connect your Trailz when a new row is added.
Increased Bonus Chance
If you’re prepared to increase the size of your stake by 25%, you’ll receive an increased chance of triggering the bonus round.
Aztec Trailz Slot Bonus Features
Landing 3, 4, or 5 scatters on the Aztec Trailz slot will trigger the feature and award 8, 10 or 12 free spins, respectively, with each additional scatter that hits after the 5th, adding two extra spins to the starting total.
