Hacksaw has previously introduced us to Canny the Can, and now we’ve got Benny the Beer. I wonder what other family members may crawl out of the woodwork at a later date? Perhaps Benny the Beer had too many drinks and went home to Clarissa Cosmopolitan, and Canny the Can was conceived. Hardly a surprise, we have Benny as the highest paying symbol in the game, worth 4x bet for a five of a kind win. He’s followed by the Bomb valued at 3x, the Camera at 2.5x, and the last of the premium paying symbols are the Alarm Clock paying 2.2x and the Lock & key awarding 2x the bet for a completed line of five. The low pays are represented by four royal symbols, with the Ace, King, Queen, and Jack all sharing equal payouts of 0.7x for a winning combination of five.
A good amount of options are made available in the betting range, with minimum/maximum limits coming in at €0.10 and €100, respectively. Due to there being such a large spread between these values, it doesn’t matter whether you’re rolling low or high; there will be a bet size you’re comfortable playing at.
Benny The Beer Slot Base Game
Hacksaw Gaming’s Benny the Beer slot begins on a reel matrix of 5×4 with an initial 1,024 ways to win. This can be increased up to a maximum of 100,000 ways via the Stackways, which we’ll come on to soon. Wins are paid when at least three matching symbols hit from left to right, starting from the leftmost reel first.
Stackways
The Stackways symbols come in two variations. Firstly, the Normal Stackways symbol can stack between 2 – 4 symbols on the reel it appears on, and secondly, the Revealing Stackways symbol can stack between 5 – 10 extra symbols when it hits. The stacked symbol is determined by choosing the symbol that would grant the longest winning combination amongst those present on the reels when the Stackways symbol activates. If more than one winning combo can be formed, the game will randomly choose the symbol. Symbols will only stack when it’s possible for a win to be formed.
Benny The Beer Slot Bonus Features
Two free spin features can be triggered on the Benny the Beer slot. We’ve got the Book of Stackways that triggers and awards 10 free spins when three scatters land in view, and the Super Book of Stackaways also awards 10 free spins when four scatters appear within the playfield.
Book Of Stackways Free Spins
At the beginning of this feature, two paying symbols are awarded as special symbols for the bonus round. If one of the symbols lands on at least three reels simultaneously, indicators below the corresponding reels will light up to reveal a number between 2 – 10. Those reels will then be stacked with the shown amount of the winning symbol. The stacked symbols then pay as though the reels were connected left to right. Landing additional FS scatter symbols awards extra spins, with two awarding two additional spins and three adding four.
Super Book Of Stackways Free Spins
This feature plays out the same way as the Book of Stackways, but during this bonus, you’ll be awarded four special symbols instead of two.

Benny The Beer Slot Final Thoughts
I preferred the two previous slots featuring the Stackways mechanic, Ronin Stackways and Mayan Stackways, but Benny the Beer was still a fun game to play.Hacksaw's slots are undoubtedly some of the best-built games currently doing the rounds in iGaming, and although this particular title may not be considered by both themselves and players alike as a premier release, it still oozes quality in design and is worthy of some spins.
