It’s typical, isn’t it? You wait for a Las Vegas-themed online slot all year, and then two come along at once! Okay, that’s probably a bit of a stretch, but it sure is a coincidence that this machine happens to release right around the same time as Play’N’Go’s similarly themed Invading Vegas machine! QuickSpin has a fight on its hands, though, as 4ThePlayer’s awesome 9K Kong in Vegas online slot is the king of this category as far as I’m concerned. Can Betty Bonkers compete? Let’s find out!
I’d been extremely impressed with this game up to this point, but I tempered my expectations before checking out the paytable. With just three reels, there is only so much that a developer can do when it comes to awarding big wins from standard line hits, after all. The wild is the highest-paying symbol of the bunch with a return of 30x the bet for a full payline of three of a kind, whilst the highest-paying regular symbol is the lucky seven at 15x the bet for all three symbols. Three BARs will pay you 8x your bet, followed by the bell at 5x, the cherry at 3x, the plum at 2x, and finally, the lemon at 1x. I have to say that this isn’t as disappointing as I was expecting – many three-reel games pay out even less than this!
The betting range starts at a low roller friendly minimum wager of €0.10 per spin, whilst the maximum bet of €100.00 seems amusingly over the top for a three-reel game. Regardless, there is a good selection of stake sizes here to suit the budget of all who choose to play the slot.
Base Game & Modifiers
There’s a fair bit to unpack with Betty Bonkers, but the standard configuration is relatively simple, with three reels of three rows each and five fixed paylines. Prizes are only awarded for complete lines of three symbols, so it couldn’t be simpler to determine when you have landed yourself a win.
Betty’s Menu
Hitting two bonus scatter symbols will award a random feature chosen from the six displayed on the menu:
- Symbol Removal Spin: The two lowest-paying symbols will be removed for the next spin. During free spins, this feature is upgraded to remove the four lowest-paying symbols.
- Wild Spin: Two wilds are guaranteed to land in random positions on the next spin. During free spins, this feature is upgraded to award four wilds.
- Multiplier Spin: Any winnings resulting from the next spin will be boosted by a 3x – 5x multiplier. During free spins, the possible multiplier increases to 6x – 10x.
- Link Spin: Two adjacent reels will spin together, forcing them to always land identical symbols. In free spins, all three reels will be linked.
- Jackpot: Awards one of the following jackpots: MAX (1,000x bet), MEDIUM (100x bet), or MINI (10x bet). During free spins, this jackpot will increase with every win on the BONKERS LINE. See the next section for details.
- Free Spins: Awards either six, nine, or 12 free spins. If this option is selected whilst the free spins are already active, then the game will award one additional free spin, a 1x multiplier increase, and one of the other features from the menu.
Betty Bonkers Slot Bonus Features
Hitting three bonus symbols will trigger the Mega Free Spins bonus round, but let me tell you now that this is much easier said than done! During the time that I was testing this slot, I never triggered the bonus round this way even once, so it’s a great thing that you can also win the free spins from Betty’s Menu – see the previous section for details.
Mega Free Spins
It can take a while to get here, but when you do, the game will reward you with 20 free spins on your remaining counter. Line one becomes the “bonkers line” in this mode, and any winning combinations that land on this line will increase your current multiplier and activate the Betty’s Menu feature. Every feature on the menu receives an upgrade during the Mega Free Spins, as detailed in the previous section.
The maximum jackpot available in this game is 10,000x your stake, but to achieve this, you will need to reach a 10x multiplier; trigger the menu; land on the jackpot feature; and finally, hit the MAX jackpot. That’s a whole lot of times you need to get lucky! I’d love to know the odds of all these things going your way in a single game round, but even if the chances are vanishingly small, it’s still nice to know that the possibility is there.
Bonus Buy
Betty Bonkers allows you to purchase a random feature from the menu at the cost of 20x the current bet. That seems like a bargain, especially considering that one of the options is the MEGA FREE SPINS.
Alternatively, you can purchase the Mega Free Spins directly by paying a whopping 300x the normal price per spin – didn’t I tell you the first option was a bargain! Now that I know the cost of purchasing the free spins, I can understand why I had so much trouble activating the feature during regular play!

I’m not usually one for three-reel online slots, but the sheer number of features packed into this one ensures that it won’t become tiresome like other three-reel slots so often do. I’m genuinely impressed with what QuickSpin have come up with here, and I’ll be keeping a watchful eye on their future releases to see if they follow up Betty Bonkers with more top-quality three-reel slots.
