Big Bass Halloween 2 (Pragmatic Play) Slot Demo & Review

It’s getting to the point where Pragmatic Play, at best, are having a bit of a laugh at our expense, or at worse, sticking a couple of those things on their hands up at us, as today we have another direct clone, and this time they’ve pulled (not for the first time), Reel Kingdom into their fun and games. Disguised (much like Big Bass Halloween) as a Halloween-themed addition to the ever-popular Big Bass series, Big Bass Halloween 2 is a spookified Big Bass Splash with the same…well…everything, aside from the theme to that slot.  It’s good news for me, I guess, as it makes researching for this review easy or not even required at all. So, Big Bass Halloween 2 is a 5×3 slot with 10 fixed paylines, a 96.71% RTP, and there is a 5,000x the stake maximum win to aim for.

As with the cloned slot, the base game offers very little aside from giving us the possibility of landing winning combinations or, ideally, hitting enough scatter symbols to trigger the free spins bonus game. Once that bonus game becomes active, so do the Money Symbols worth up to 5,000x the stake, as you will now receive those payouts whenever the Wild Fisherman Collect symbol lands on the same spin. Each bonus game will also have up to five modifiers applied, such as additional spins, more instances of important symbols, or letting you start from Level 2 on the progressive trail above the reels. Speaking of that trail, it has milestones that give you 10 spins once reached and increase a win multiplier for the Money Symbols collected up to a maximum of 10x.

If you haven’t played Big Bass Splash, or you have and just want to see its new Halloween theme, you can do so by firing up the Big Bass Halloween 2 slot demo we’ve provided below.

Big Bass Halloween 2 slot paytable

As I spoke about in the intro, this is not the first time Pragmatic Play has cloned previous slots from its portfolio. The original Big Bass Halloween slot, which this is a sequel to, was a clone as well – that time of the original Big Bass Bonanza game. To highlight, I’m not exaggerating the amount of reskins the provider manages to conjure up; the last Pragmatic Play slot I reviewed was Anime Mecha Megaways, which, you guessed it, was a clone, this time of Power of Merlin Megaways.

I could just copy the paytable section from our Big Bass Splash review and paste it here, but the symbols are one of the few things that have changed (slightly), at least in appearance. The Fisherman Truck tops the payouts with 200x the stake payable when five line up across a payline, and we now have a Chainsaw that delivers 100x, a Zombified Dragon Fly that shares a 50x top payout with the Tackle Box, and Fish Bait that returns up to 20x. The Ace and King deliver wins up to 10x the stake, while the Queen, Jack, and Ten all return up to 5x.

Whether many of the Big Bass games are similar or not, you have to give Pragmatic credit for making the slots easily accessible for players regardless of their budgets. In the case of Big Bass Halloween 2, the lowest entry point begins at €0.10, with the maximum stake reaching up to €250.

Base Game & Modifiers

Big Bass Halloween 2 slot base game

The core mechanics of Big Bass Halloween 2 involved a 5×3 reel set and 10 fixed paylines, with payouts calculated when three or more (two or more of the Truck symbol) matching symbols appear across a payline from left to right. As with Big Bass Splash, there’s nothing else to report on during the base game, and the Cash prize symbols that land cannot be collected until you trigger the bonus game.

Big Bass Halloween 2 slot free spins feature

You’ll need three or more scatter symbols to land on the same spin if you want to trigger the slot’s free spins bonus. Occasionally, if two scatter symbols appear, another may get randomly reeled onto the reels, or a re-spin might occur that can reveal the third scatter needed to activate the bonus.

Free Spins Feature

You’re given 10, 15, or 20 free spins in return for 3, 4, or 5 triggering scatter symbols. Before those spins take place, between 0 and 5 of the following modifiers are activated for the duration of the bonus:

  • More Fish: More Fish Money symbols are added to the reels.
  • More Fisherman: More Wild Fishermand collect symbols are added to the reels.
  • More Dynamites, Chainsaws, and Hook Symbols: Increased chance to land each of these.
  • Start From Level 2: The progressive trail above the reels starts from Level 2.
  • +2 Spins: You receive an additional 2 free spins and reaching the milestones on the progressive trails rewards 2 additional spins.

During the bonus, it’s now possible to collect the Money symbols that land on the reels holding cash prizes of between 2x and 5,000x the stake. That happens when Wild Fisherman Collect symbols land on the same spin as those Money Symbols.

They’re also collected into the progressive trail above the reels, and each time four have been scooped up, you move to the next level and receive 10 additional free spins. A global win multiplier for Money Symbols collects also increases when you level up, starting with 2x for the first, 3x for the second, and finally, a 10x multiplier is active when you re-trigger the bonus for a third time.

Also, during the free spins bonus, the following random features can occur:

  • Dynamite Free Spin Feature: if a Fisherman collect lands on the reels but there are no Money symbols, a random explosion may lead to Money Symbols appearing randomly.
  • Hook: This works the other way by adding a Fisherman Wild to the reels if none exist, but Money symbols do.
  • Chainsaw: Alternatively, if there are no Money symbols but a Fisherman Collect, all other symbols on the reels can transform into something else.

Bonus Buy

As with all games in the series, Big Bass Halloween 2 has a feature buy option for those players who wish to get straight to the free spins bonus. This can be purchased at the cost of 100x the current bet.

Pros

  • A low entry point of just €0.10.
  • The graphics have been well-designed, and the slot looks great.

Cons

  • Essentially a direct clone of Big Bass Splash with no new features.

Big Bass Halloween 2 Slot Review Final Thoughts

There’s not much to say here apart from the fact this slot exists and will probably attract spins from players who know no better. For the rest of us who do, we can choose to play this, Big Bass Splash, or move to one of the other dozen or so slots in the Big Bass collection that all pretty much offer the same thing.
