Big Buffalo Megaways Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
Skywind have already entered the Megaways™ market with their debut slot Book of Gems Megaways™, and in their second offering they have opted for a tried and tested theme which is of course the Buffalo. This has been done countless times before in the Megaways™ niche, with a notable game being Buffalo Rising Megaways™ from Blueprint Gaming. All that being said, Skywind have created a very nice looking slot with crisp and clean graphics, whilst the obligatory panpipe music sounds throughtout your gameplay.
Focusing in on the paytable on Big Buffalo Megaways™ we see the usual royal symbols 9, 10, J, Q, K, and Ace make the lower values. Premium symbols are the desert cat, fox, wolf, eagle, and buffalo, with a 6 of a kind win paying 10x, 10x, 12.5x, 12.5x, and 15x respectively. The wild symbol in the game is backdrop of the mountains, and appearing on reels 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, this symbol will substitute for all game symbols bar the scatter.
Trying your luck on Big Buffalo Megaways™ can cost from just €0.20 a play, with the maximum stake reaching up to €200 a spin. Any players that would like to spin with the enhanced game option can toggle on the Double Chance Switch. This will increase your chances of triggering the free spin feature, but will come at a cost of an additional 25% on top of your original stake.
Big Buffalo Megaways Base Game
It’s pretty much par for the course when it comes to the reel format on Big Buffalo Megaways™, with 6 reels being in play and anywhere between 2 – 7 symbols being able to appear on them. With the Megaways™ mechanic pulling the strings in the engine room of this slot, it is able to generate anywhere up to 117,649 paylines per spin.
Other than the wild symbols appearing in the base game to help out with some wins, there isn’t really anything else going on. It’s perhaps a little surprising not to have seen a modifier of some description added to the slot, which would have helped to break up the game a little.
Big Buffalo Megaways Free Spin Feature
To enter the free spin feature on Big Buffalo Megaways™ you will need to land 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatter symbols, which will award you with 8,15, 25, or 100 free spins respectively. This feature then becomes all about the wild symbols that can again land on reels 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6, and carry with them a multiplier value of either x2, x3, or x5. Players should note these multipliers accumulate when are they are all a part of the same win.
Keep your eyes peeled for the scatter symbols landing during the free spin bonus. If 2 land in view then you’ll be awarded with an extra 5 spins. Whilst 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatters landing will award the same amount of spins that they do for a feature trigger.
Last up we have the bonus buy option that is available to players that are spinning the reels in non bonus buy banned territories. If you have the ability to purchase the feature then you can do so on Big Buffalo Megaways™ for the cost of 100x your current stake.
Big Buffalo Megaways Review Final Thoughts
Skywind had a hit on their hands with the original version of this game Big Buffalo, so I guess it made sense to them to upgrade it to the Megaways™ engine and see if the success followed. Perhaps unfortunately for them there are already a number of Buffalo Related titles in the Megaways™ niche, with even more to follow in 2021.
So whilst the game has been very well made and is extremely smooth to play, it brings nothing particularly new to the market that players haven’t seen or tried before. If you liked the original game then give this one a go, otherwise it’s likely you’ll tire of it quickly.
