Bigger Bass Blizzard Slot (Pragmatic Play) Slot Demo & Review

I think that all of us here at Demoslot shared a similar sentiment when we saw the name of this new online slot appear on the list of forthcoming releases – “They can’t have made ANOTHER one already… can they?”. As it turns out, they sure CAN, and they don’t seem to care that only a few weeks have passed since the release of “Keepin’ it Reel”, another entry in the Big Bass Bonanza franchise that we have previously reviewed. Pragmatic Play’s latest release Bigger Bass Blizzard does seem quite different to previous Big Bass games though. There are 12 paylines, a 96.08% RTP, and a maximum win of 4,000x your bet. That last number seems a tad low by this franchise’s standards, especially considering that this game is still being labelled as a super-high variance slot.

There are plenty of familiar features included, too, of course. The money symbol is back, and can now be assigned a prize of up to 4,000x your total bet. This means that you can potentially win this game’s jackpot simply by hitting a full payline of money symbols! When money symbols do not form full paylines, however, they are still useless during the base game. The free spin bonus round is where money symbols become exciting symbols, and Bigger Bass Blizzard offers up to 20 free spins with retriggers, multipliers, and modifiers. Bonus Bet and Bonus Buy facilities are both available for those who enjoy taking a little more risk for the chance of plenty more reward!

Have you grown tired of the Big Bass Bonanza franchise already? Or are you willing to give Pragmatic Play’s seemingly unstoppable cash cow another try? We suggest that you do the latter! At least give our free demo slot of Bigger Bass Blizzard a few spins below.

Bigger Bass Blizzard Slot Paytable

Fans of the Big Bass Bonanza series have been literally spoilt for choice over the past year or two, as Pragmatic Play has continued to pump out a seemingly endless string of new titles every other month. Who could forget such classics as Big Bass Bonanza Megways, Big Bass Splash, or Big Bass Bonanza – Keepin’ it Reel? I have to assume that these games are incredibly popular, considering there are so many of them, and that’s before we even talk about the competing Fishin’ Frenzy series, which recently saw a Fortune Spins variant released. Either slots players absolutely adore fishing, or there’s something a bit fishy going on here (Ed: groan…).

So, the big question, as ever today, is how does Big Bass Man’s attempt at ice fishing stack up in terms of the paytable? At the top of the list, we have Bass Man on an ice vehicle of some kind, and it’s a great start as this symbol will pay you 200x your bet for a full payline of five-of-a-kind. Next, we have the fishing rod at 100x the stake for all five symbols, followed by a spinner bait and a tackle box at 50x. The fish symbols are worth the total amount specified on them when a full payline is hit, and a look at the possible values for these symbols shows that this could be anything from a few times your bet up to the game’s maximum jackpot of 4,000x. Unfortunately, there are no special payouts for the wild or scatter symbols, and all five of the low-paying royals are worth 10x for a full five-of-a-kind combination.

The betting range is slightly unusual in that it starts at €0.12 due to the unusual 12 payline configuration of the game. At the other end of the scale, the maximum bet has also been bumped to €120.00 rather than Pragmatic Play’s usual choice of €100.00. Both values increase by 50% if you play with the bonus bet option enabled.

Base Game & Modifiers

Bigger Bass Blizzard Slot Base Game

Despite the relatively low number of paylines available in Bigger Bass Blizzard, Pragmatic Play has still opted to use an enlarged playfield as the basis for the game. It’s a five reel, four row setup, which makes the low number of paylines a curious choice. On the plus side, however, this means that the paytable numbers are considerably larger than many other recent online slots. I have always enjoyed ten-line games for precisely this reason – you may wait a long time for a decent hit to show up, but eventually, they always do.

Fish Symbols

Many other games in this series require you to trigger the bonus round before you have the opportunity to cash in on the fish symbols, but that isn’t the case here. If you hit a full payline of five fish symbols, the total value of these will be added together and awarded as a prize. Smaller combinations of three or four fish symbols pay a fixed amount of 1x or 5x your bet, respectively. Fish symbols can be worth 2x, 5x, 10x, 15x, 20x, 25x, 50x, or 4,000x your total bet.

Ante Bet

The ante bet boosts your chances of winning a bonus round by adding many more scatter symbols to the reels. The game does not specify precisely how much your odds are boosted by, unfortunately, and the ante bet does cost a 50% premium on top of the regular price per spin, so I’m unsure whether this is a good deal or not.

The paytable notes that the game’s RTP drops by 0.01% when the Ante Bet is enabled, suggesting that, if anything, your overall returns may be slightly worse when playing with this option enabled. It is a minimal change, so perhaps it could be worth the chance to play more bonus rounds.

Bigger Bass Blizzard Slot Bonus Features

Bigger Bass Blizzard Slot Free Spins Feature

Speaking of bonus rounds, hitting three scatter symbols during the base game will reward you with 10 free spins. This is boosted to 15 or 20 free spins when the bonus is triggered by four or five scatter symbols.

Free Spins

During the free spins mode, any wild symbols which land on the reels will automatically collect the value of all fish/money symbols that are currently visible.

Wild symbols are also used to fill the meter at the top of the screen, and a re-trigger is awarded each time you collect a fourth wild symbol on the meter. The bonus round starts with no multiplier enabled, but after your first re-trigger, winnings are boosted by a 2x multiplier, increasing to 3x and then 10x after subsequent re-triggers.

There are two random modifiers active during the free spins feature, too, so look out for the hook symbols appearing and pulling reels up to reveal extra wild or money symbols hidden underneath!

Bonus Buy

The bonus round is most people’s favourite part of any slot machine, and if you want to bypass the base game and go directly to that part of Bigger Bass Blizzard, you can do so for a cost of 100x the regular price per spin. This seems like a reasonable deal in my eyes, and my results from the feature during testing were also encouraging. I’d consider giving it a few plays if this option is available in your jurisdiction.

Bigger Bass Blizzard Slot Review Final Thoughts

Phat Cats certainly isn’t the best Megaways slot I have played this year – but it’s not a bad game by any means. If you’re a big fan of Razor Shark from Push Gaming, you’ll likely want to try a few spins on this game too. It might just be what you’d call puuuurfect. Don’t worry, I’ve got my coat, and I’m going. Enjoy the demo.
