I’m excited to try this out.
The game looks like a standard Megaways title – you have a bonus round with an unlimited win multiplier; it increases every time a winning combination is removed from the reels. This is a “rolling reels” game, so it is possible to boost your multiplier many, many times from just one single spin. A cash collect modifier and a mystery symbol feature (which is even represented by Anonymous masks, amusingly… come on Booming, you are killing me!) are also included. One feature I haven’t seen in other Megaways slots is the “Max Megaways” symbol, which will force every reel to contain the maximum of 7 symbols each time it appears.

Blockchain Megaways Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
Time to talk about the theme… this is going to be fun! Blockchain Megaways uses a variety of symbols representing various fiat and crypto currencies. Of course, the Crypto currency is used as the top symbols, with Bitcoin taking pride of place at the top of the paytable. I feel as if the theme is extremely well done in Blockchain Megaways video slot, but at the same time, there also seems to be some missed opportunities. Where is the mining bonus? Manage to mine a block for big pay-outs or receive a consolation prize if you fail. And how about a trip to the Silk Road? Yeah, I’m not describing that one with a ten-foot pole. It should still be here though!
Paytable time, and well… no pay-outs for the scatter or wild symbols? This feels a little disappointing. At the same time, the “Majors” have decent pay-outs for a Megaways slot. Bitcoin pays 20x your stake for a full line of six-of-a-kind, followed, of course, by Ethereum at 10x your stake. I was pleased to see that Litecoin (my personal favourite) takes third place at 7.5x your stake, followed by Dash which will chuck you 5x your stake should you manage to line six of these up on adjacent reels. I wasn’t going to mention the low-paying symbols at all, but if you are anything like me, the bottom two will be a mystery to you. I’ll save you the trouble of searching them out yourself – the double-crossed t is the sign for the Turkish Lira, whilst the P with a dash underneath represents the Russian Rouble. Fascinating, eh?
Setting your bet is super easy thanks to Booming Games sweet implementation of a stake selection screen. Hit the pile of coins, and a separate window pops up with 29 different bet size options. There’s no chance of accidentally max betting on this slot! The minimum bet is just €0.10, which feels like a bargain for this type of slot. At the other end we have a completely off-the-wall €500.00 per spin option available… yeah, it’s great that you cannot accidentally max bet this slot!
Base Game & Modifiers
Anyone who has played a Megaways slot will be right at home with Blockchain Megaways. You have six reels, each of which can split into two to seven different sections. As well as these standard reel positions, four further slots are positioned above reels two to six. This is how the game reaches its maximum Megaways count of 200,704 pay ways, one of the largest I have seen from any Megaways slot.
Cash Collect Feature
This is more of a feature than a modifier, and only appear in the base game. Several coin symbols can appear on any spin, but you do not get to collect the amounts shown unless you also land a “Collect” symbol. It can be a bit frustrating seeing the cash symbols drop so frequently, especially if they block other winning combinations, but when you see that collect symbol drop all of the frustration just melts away as the bells go off and the big win screen appears over the reels. Top Feature!
Mystery Symbol Modifier
This modifier activates randomly at the beginning of a spin and can also occur during the bonus round. When you see the “Mystery Symbols” text appear at the start of a spin, several Guy Fawkes masks will appear on the reels. Once the spin completes, all mask symbols will transform into one pre-determined symbol from the paytable. This mod can be amazing, and it can also be a bit of a damn squib – it all depends which mystery symbol you end up getting. Good Luck here!
Max Megaways Modifier
I only saw this one a couple of times during testing, and it isn’t clear if this one can occur during the bonus round. I never saw it despite playing more than 20 features using the bonus buy option, so I’m guessing it could feature in the base game only. The Max Megaways modifier will introduce itself at the beginning of every spin, after which the reels will drop with a guaranteed seven slots on all six reels. This gives you the chance to win huge – with so many slots on the screen, it really is difficult not to win SOMETHING.
Blockchain Megaways Slot Free Spins Feature
The chances are, you have seen a typical Megaways bonus before, but if not, here is the lowdown; you need to hit a minimum of FOUR scatters to activate the bonus round, and it does not seem possible to hit more than four scatters at the same time.
Once you have caught your scatter symbols, the game will award you ten free spins to start with. You can win additional spins by hitting four scatters during the bonus round, although disappointingly this retrigger only adds five more spins to your counter rather than another ten.
During your ten free spins, every win no matter how small will increase your current multiplier. Winning symbols are removed from the screen immediately, allowing new symbols to drop in from the top. Any re-spins which occur after a win are not deducted from your remaining spin counter.
It is possible to get the multiplier up to some really crazy numbers here – 15x is quite easy to reach, and with a multiplier like that, you only need one huge spin to make a huge profit.
Bonus Buy Feature
If you can’t wait to see the bonus round, there is an option to purchase the bonus for 110x your current stake. This option will be not be available if you reside in the UK.

Go on Booming Games, I’m loving your slot – Blockchain Megaways is easily my favourite Megaways game, perhaps just because of the crypto based stuff – I don’t know – but I just found this game to be much more fun (and much smoother and faster) than the endless string of Megaways slots that other providers are pumping out.
