What’s new this time around, I hear you ask? Well, let’s build some suspense and tell you about the other features first. Big Time Gaming’s Dragon Born Megaways slot game may have been the first title to bring Megaways to online slot players’ attention, but it was Bonanza Megaways that catapulted it into the stratosphere and put it onto the iGaming map. It was a game-changer and remains the only slot on our website to receive a 10 out of 10 score. BTG has since slightly dabbled with Bonanza, adding their jackpot mechanic to it and releasing the Bonanza Megapays slot whilst they also brought a touch of festivity to the game in the Christmas Bonanza Megaways slot, which was nothing more than a change of graphics. Today is the day BTG fans have been waiting for though, so without further ado, the next stop is the pays section.
Due to the new Megadozer mechanic, the values on the paytable have dipped somewhat. So, from the top, we have the Diamond now paying 8x for a six of a kind win, with the Red Gem next at 5x, followed by the Blue Gem and Green Gem paying 3.75x and 1.5x, respectively, for a winning combo of six. Onto the low pays, we again have the six royal symbols in play, with the Ace, King and Queen all sharing pays of 1x for a complete line of six, and the Jack, Ten and Nine all valued at 0.8x for a six of a kind hit. The Wild Symbol is represented by the Sticks of Dynamite appearing on the upper reel only during the base game and will substitute for all regular symbols.
Let’s talk about the bet selection next. Players can start the reels spinning on the Bonanza Falls slot from a minimum of €0.20, with the maximum stake reaching up to €10. The limits may be increased at some online casinos, but I think most of those playing for real money will be more than happy with the current set-up of bet sizes.
Bonanza Falls Slot Base Game
Other than the values of the symbols decreasing, Bonanza Falls is just the same as the original in the base game, with play taking place over a 6×7 reel formation where a maximum of 117,649 ways to win can land on any spin. Players will be awarded a win when at least three matching symbols land (two in the case of the diamond) on adjacent reels starting from the leftmost reel first.
Cascading Reels
The cascading reels aspect of the slot game activates whenever a winning combination has been formed. Initially, all winning symbols are removed from the reels before new ones fall from above to fill the spaces left behind, giving players additional chances to win. These reel tumbles will continue as long as new wins are being created.
Bonanza Falls Slot Bonus Features
The bonus round on BTG’s Bonanza Falls slot is triggered when the letters G.O.L.D appear anywhere within the playful and will award 12 free spins. Additional +4 symbols may also land, each adding four spins to the starting total.
Free Spins Feature
The original Bonanza would begin with the same reels in play as the base game and a starting win multiplier of x1. This time around in Bonanza Falls, the horizontal reel is replaced with a Coin Dozer feature that is stacked with BTG Coins. On every spin in the bonus and between reel cascades, new coins will drop onto the Pusher Bed. Whilst some of these will fall between the gaps as they do in the arcade versions, others may be pushed into the spaces and fall down on the reels. The possible modifiers coins may reveal are as follows:
- A Wild which may include a multiplier up to x5 in value.
- A random symbol is added to the reel which counts for multiple instances, as shown.
- The free spins win multiplier increments by x1.
- Four extra spins will be added.
* Players should note that the win multiplier doesn’t increment have a win reaction like it does in the original slot game, only when a multiplier coin falls from the coin dozer.
Bonus Buy & Win Exchange
Any wins between 25x – 100x may be risked on the Gamble Wheel for a chance of activating the free spins feature. Any wins of 100x or more can instantly be exchanged for the bonus. Alternatively, players can instantly trigger the free spin via the bonus buy option, which costs 100x the current bet.

Creating a sequel to a successful slot is always risky, especially when it's a classic like Bonanza, which happens to be one of my favourite online slots of all time. I think BTG has done enough by adding the new Megadozer engine to make the follow-up interesting, but whether those players who love the original will take to this variation, only time will tell.The maximum win has dramatically increased too, and with the reduction of the values on the paytable, could this be an indication that the volatility in the free spins now has the potential to reach such an amount? I hope so, as this review will be revisited with an improved score if Bonanza Falls starts to throw out huge wins exceeding 10,000x.So, there we have it.
