Game Overview

Greek mythology slots are usually dominated by the usual suspects, whether that’s Zeus, Heracles, Hermes, Aphrodite, or Ares, so it’s nice to see a slot give centre stage to Artemis for once. The daughter of Zeus was the goddess of the hunt, the wild, and chastity. She’s also renowned for carrying a bow, which I assume is for hunting purposes, and it is the Bow of Artemis that is the latest slot from Pragmatic Play, a title that takes place on a huge 8×8 cluster-pay gaming grid that has an RTP of 96.05% and a 10,000x the stake max win.

That grid really is huge, so you can imagine the tumbling action that can occur on any spin; however, it is the features that really boost the winning potential of a spin. Six spin modifiers can trigger when winning combinations form in positions sat on top of special coloured markings. Among those modifiers are 2×2, 3×3, 4×4, or 5×5 symbols thrown onto the reels, wild symbols added, and regular symbols converted into the same type. One will even wipe the grid so that a new set of symbols takes place. Finally, there is a progressive bonus feature that triggers once enough winning symbols are collected by a meter. This is a drop that guarantees each of the special features trigger while collecting enough winning combinations will advance you to a new level with a bigger win multiplier and a fresh drop.

Sometimes, it’s best to cast your own eyes on a new slot before coming to an opinion. There’s a hell of a lot of slot to look at, too, so if you’re interested in spinning an 8×8 grid, then have a go on the Bow of Artemis slot demo below.

Bow Of Artemis Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols

Bow Of Artemis Slot Paytable

The cluster pays reel mechanic has always been one of my favourites, especially if the slot, like this one, has cascading reels, modifiers, and a bunch of features, as there’s nothing like witnessing a chain reaction of wins that collectively boost your bankroll in one fell swoop. If you enjoy this kind of slot like me, let me point you towards other top titles, such as Pragmatic Play’s Sugar Rush, Reactoonz from Play’n Go, and Push Gaming’s Jammin’ Jars 2.

Slots with cascading reels often have low-value symbol payouts, so it’s no surprise that this is the case again for the Bow of Artemis slot. However, while the most common payouts are small, if you manage to create super-sized clusters of 25+ symbols, some big payouts are waiting. The Bear pays 1,000x the stake for a cluster that size, while the Wolf is worth up to 500x, and the Deer can bring in 300x. Even the so called lower payers of the Ace, King, Queen, and Jack return 150x, 100x, 75x, and 50x for 25 or more symbols in a cluster.

When the time comes to place your bets on Bow Artemis, you can opt to wager between €0.20 and €240.00 per spin, a range that should accommodate the bankroll of any real money player wanting to try the game.

Bow Of Artemis Slot Base Game & Modifiers

When at least 5 matching symbols are connected horizontally or vertically anywhere on the 8×8 gaming grid, you receive a payout as per the paytable. The slot also features a tumbling mechanism that removes winning combinations so that more symbols can get involved in the action and potentially create additional wins.

Spin Features

Underneath random positions on the reels during the base game are coloured markings. When a winning combination is created on top of them, a special spin feature triggers. The activated feature depends on the coloured marking the combination occurred on.

  • Brown Marking (The Chase Begins): This wipes the grid of all symbols so that more fall in to potentially create more winning combinations.
  • Teal Marking (Wild Pack): All instances of one random regular symbol are chosen to transform into wild symbols.
  • Purple Marking (Big Game Hunter): 2×2 symbols of the same type are added to random positions on the reels.
  • Red Marking (Colossal Game): A random symbol sized 3×3, 4×4, or 5×5 is added to a random position on the reels.
  • Blue Marking (Lucky Wilds): Between 5 and 15 wild symbols are added to random positions on the reels.
  • Green Marking (Power): Between 10 and 30 instances of the same type of paying symbol are added to the reels.

Bow Of Artemis Slot Bonus Features

The main bonus is a progressive feature that unlocks once a certain number of winning symbols have exploded on the reels. A meter to the right of the reels collects all instances of winning symbols, and you’ll need at least 105 to trigger the bonus at level 1.

The Hunt Progressive Bonus Round

At level 1, there is no global win multiplier initially. However, if the triggering spin results in the collecting of 130, 155, or 180 winning symbols, you trigger the feature with a 2x, 3x, or 5x global win multiplier.

The hunt starts with a single symbol drop, and each time new winning combinations are formed during the game, one of the spin features from earlier is guaranteed to trigger. All of those features will trigger at some point during the bonus, which ends only when there are no features left to trigger and there are no more wins on the reels.

Furthermore, if the tumble collects enough winning symbols during the feature, you can trigger the next level above and receive a new tumble with an increased win multiplier. The following is what’s required to unlock each level:

  • Level 2: Collect 140, 165, 190, or 220 symbols during Level 1 to trigger Level 2 with 1x, 2x, 3x, or 5x added to the win multiplier.
  • Level 3: Collect 140, 170, 190, or 220 symbols during Level 1 to trigger Level 3 with 1x, 2x, 3x, or 5x added to the win multiplier.
  • Level 4: Collect 152, 190, 200, or 220 symbols during Level 1 to trigger Level 4 with 1x, 2x, 3x, or 5x added to the win multiplier.
  • Level 5: Collect 152, 190, 200, or 220 symbols during Level 1 to trigger Level 5 with 1x, 2x, 3x, or 5x added to the win multiplier.

Bonus Buy

You can purchase the Hunt Progressive Feature for 100x your current stake via the buy bonus option to the left of the reels. However, the number of symbols you need to collect to advance to higher levels is different from the regular bonus:

  • Level 2: Collect 125, 145, 165, or 210 symbols during Level 1 to trigger Level 2 with 1x, 2x, 3x, or 5x added to the win multiplier.
  • Level 3: Collect 130, 150, 180, or 230 symbols during Level 1 to trigger Level 3 with 1x, 2x, 3x, or 5x added to the win multiplier.
  • Level 4: Collect 140, 160, 190, or 240 symbols during Level 1 to trigger Level 4 with 1x, 2x, 3x, or 5x added to the win multiplier.
  • Level 5: Collect 160, 180, 210, or 250 symbols during Level 1 to trigger Level 5 with 1x, 2x, 3x, or 5x added to the win multiplier.

Pros

  • Tumbles, modifiers, multipliers, and a lucrative bonus game - what more could you want?

Cons

  • I’d still like to see Pragmatic Play ramp up its max wins.

Bow Of Artemis Slot Review Final Thoughts

It's fair to say that Pragmatic Play has been one of the biggest contributors to the cluster pay slots genre in recent years, even though many of the games are very similar.Bow of Artemis again falls into that category somewhat as the older slot players amongst you will see that it has a lot in common with Pragmatic's previous titles Gems Bonanza and Santa's Wonderland. However, it's a cracking game and one I recommend that you give a try.
