Cash Express Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
The Wild West, plus trains… does that remind you of another game, perhaps? If not, it really should! Of course, I’m referring to the Money Train series of games, which has just seen its third instalment go live in recent weeks. Money Train 3 has been the most played game here at Demoslot for several weeks, so it wouldn’t surprise me if some of the excitement for that release were to spill over onto this game. It may even be Stakelogic’s strategy to steal away a few players from Relax’s ultra-popular series, but if so, they have a huge mountain to climb if they want to steal players away from their competitors. We can’t possibly mention the Wild West without giving NetEnt’s Dead or Alive 2 a quick mention, too, of course!
The four outlaws mentioned in the opening paragraph are pictured on the four high-paying picture symbols of Cash Express. The red outlaw is the best-paying out of the bunch and has a return of 20x your stake for a full pay line of five-of-a-kind. Next, the yellow outlaw will pay you 16x the bet for all five of his symbols, whilst the big green dude is worth 12x for a full pay line. The female outlaw in blue completes the line-up and has a return of 8x the bet for a five-of-a-kind combination of her symbols. The wild pays 20x your bet, just like the highest-paying regular symbol, while the train symbol has no cash value. It’s clear that you will need those cash bonus enhancers if you want to hit it big in this game; more on those in the base game and bonus sections below.
The betting range is somewhat limited compared to many other first-tier online slots, but I suspect the options available will still be enough to satisfy the majority of players. The minimum bet is €0.25, or €0.35 with the Super Stake mode enabled, whilst the maximum allowed is €12.50, or €17.50 if you are happy to place the bonus bet.
Base Game & Modifiers
The base game of Cash Express utilises the familiar 5×3 playfield that is common to a huge number of online slots. There are 25 fixed paylines, which is also a familiar number for this size of reel set. Winning combinations require three or more matching symbols on adjacent reels starting from the left, but I’m sure you are wondering: “What is the meter for?”
Train Symbols
The meter shown above the reels will fill up each time a train symbol lands on the reels. I’m not sure exactly how many train symbols are required to fill the meter entirely, but it must be at least 50, in my estimation. Once the meter has been filled, you will advance to the next phase of the game, and a new cash bonus modifier will be unlocked.
Cash Bonus Enhancers
These four enhancers will be unlocked after you collect enough train symbols during the base game. During the bonus round, it is possible to land any of the currently unlocked enhancers.
- Blue Outlaw Enhancer – Holds a multiplier between 2x and 30x
- Green Outlaw Enhancer – Holds a multiplier between 2x and 50x and will also spread those multipliers to all other green outlaw symbols on the grid.
- Yellow Outlaw Enhancer – Also has a multiplier of between 2x and 50x but has the added bonus of adding an additional row to the playfield.
- Red Outlaw Enhancer – The big one, the top outlaw has a multiplier of up to 100x, and will also collect the value of any other multiplier values currently
Super Stake
The paytable doesn’t go into too much detail about the benefits of enabling the super stake option, which always makes me feel a little bit dubious about using it!
The game promises that activating the super stake will “give extra chances of hitting insanely valuable winning combinations!”. If that’s good enough for you, then go ahead and pay the additional 40%!
Cash Express Slot Bonus Features
The main feature is a three-spin bonus round that is triggered by hitting six train symbols on a single spin. After you have managed this, the game will take you to a second reel set.
Cash Bonus Feature
In this mode, only train and bonus enhancer symbols will appear on the reels. Each symbol has a multiplier attached to it, but to collect these multipliers, you will need to fill the grid with symbols starting from the bottom row.
Once a complete row of five symbols has been achieved on the bottom row, the total of multipliers on that row will be added to your winnings. The remaining symbols on the screen will then drop down one row, with the completed row being removed from the reels.
All of the cash bonus enhancers you have unlocked in the base game will appear during this mode; any enhancers still locked will not be available.
Bonus Buy
If permitted within your jurisdiction, you can purchase a bonus round for a cost of 100x the regular price per spin. The interesting thing about this is that using this facility will start a bonus round with a random number of cash bonus enhancers already unlocked, which makes unlocking the enhancers via base gameplay feel like a bit of a poor deal!
It seems that this feature is a great deal for players who can make use of it then, but for those such as myself who are prohibited from taking advantage of such features, I guess we have no choice but to grind the base game until we have unlocked all of the enhancers!
Cash Express Slot Review Final Thoughts
I was having a great time with this game until I got to the last paragraph before this one and discovered that the bonus buy facility allows you to bypass the whole unlocking phase of the game.
On the one hand, this annoys me, and makes me feel as if I am being cheated by living in a jurisdiction where such features are prohibited. On the other, I wouldn’t say I like the idea of being forced to use the bonus buy feature anyway, so I don’t mind enormously about the need to unlock the various features first. It’s a difficult situation to reconcile for me!
Zooming out a little, I love the look and the theme of this game, and I had a lot of fun playing it. I’m certain that the Money Train games can pay out far more than this one, but if that kind of volatility puts you off, perhaps Cash Express is exactly what you are looking for.
