Game Overview

Blueprint Gaming has been developing slot games – whether physical or virtual, for a couple of decades now, and they’ve certainly had a few big hits along the way. There cannot be many experienced slot players unfamiliar with the Fishin Frenzy free play games here on our site, the developer’s series of Jackpot King progressive jackpot slots or exclusive movie titles such as The Goonies or Ted. No matter how you slice it, Blueprint Gaming are undoubtedly one of the longest developers of quality slot games. I feel like I have put extra pressure on the provider now, as with an introduction like that, most of you are probably expecting the company’s latest release, Cash Strike, to become the next big hit. My job is to let you know if that will prove the case for this classic-style 3-reel, 3-row, and 5-payline slot, which features a 96% RTP, high variance, and a 1,000x the stake maximum win.

As you can see, the core stats offer nothing to write home about – the RTP is bang on the industry average, the max win is meagre, and there are just the five paylines. That said, there are a few interesting features – a Cash Collect base game feature and a Cash Strike bonus game, both of which could deliver one of four fixed jackpots, the biggest of which will deliver a 1,000x the stake payday.

If you’re unfamiliar with 3-reel slots and interested in getting better acquainted with these styles of slots, I suggest you give the Cash Strike demo slot a try. It’s directly below and just a click away.

Blueprint Gaming’s previous release to this game, and a slot I also reviewed, is called Gold Strike, and due to the similar names and both offering a classic-slot theme, I first thought they’d be similar titles, with this being a three-reeled version of that five-reeled game. However, although there are a few similarities, they’re both different. As they’ve both been released within a couple of weeks of each other, it does at least seem like Blueprint is going on a bit of a retro binge at the moment, but the firm has always had a penchant for releasing classic slots, with Mega Bars and Mega Bars Fortune Wheel being good examples of this.

Whilst far from the biggest I’ve seen, the symbol payouts on Cash Strike are decent for a 3×3 slot with just five paylines. The Fiery Red Sevens will net you 50x the stake when a set of three lines up across a payline, with the Double Star symbol returning 30x for a winning combo of three. The Bells are next, awarding 20x; the Blueberries follow and are worth 16x, and the Watermelons complete the premium section with 16x paid out for a completed line of three. The smaller payouts are represented by the Oranges, Plums, Lemons, and Cherries, which return 4x, 4x, 4x, and 1x, respectively, if three match across a payline.

Blueprint is well known for making their slots accessible to players with both small, medium and high budgets, with this again being the case in Cash Strike, where the minimum price to play stats at €0.10 a spin with a good selection of bets following before reaching the maximum stake of €50.

Cash Strike Slot Base Game

As there are just the three reels and five paylines, you’ll not have a hard time figuring out how to play the Cash Strike video slot – you just need to hit the spin button and hope that three matching symbols land across a payline or you trigger one of the features.

Cash Collect

As I mentioned earlier, Cash Strike has four fixed jackpots, the Mini (25x), Minor (50x), Major (150x), and Grand (1,000x), and the Cash Collect feature is one of the ways to win them. If the Collect Scatter symbol lands on the second reel, it will collect and payout the combined values of all cash or CashPot symbols on the reels. The latter are the four different jackpots, so if one of those lands on the same spin as a collect, you win the respective jackpot.

Gold Strike

As you spin the reels during the base game, any Collect, Cash, or CashPot symbols landing on the reels will get collected and added to the slots logo. When this happens, there is a chance the Gold Strike feature will trigger, and once it kicks into action, the symbols required to trigger the Cash Strike bonus game, which you’ll see in the next section, will appear on the reels.

Cash Strike Slot Bonus Features

The Cash Strike bonus will trigger when a spin reveals Cash or CashPot symbols on the first and third reels and a Cash Collect symbol on the second reel.

Cash Strike Bonus

You start the Cash Strike bonus with three respins of reels that contain just a single Cash Collect, and if the respins reveal Cash or CashPot symbols, the Cash Collect scoops them up before they disappear from the reels. Each new symbol will reset the respins back to three, and this process continues until those respins run out. It’s also possible to land additional Cash Collects that remain locked on the reels – meaning all Cash values are collected more than once.

Pros

  • Cheap buy in options for the bonus.

Cons

  • The RTP is below average.
  • It's hard to find anything entertaining about the base game.

Cash Strike Slot Review Final Thoughts

If you’re a fan of classic three-reel slots, you’re probably going to like this one, and even if you’re not, it has enough bonus features to distinguish it away from what I’d classify as true classic slots.I'd have to say, though, that it's not my cup of tea, despite Blueprint being among my favourite developers, as I prefer more reels, rows, paylines, and winning potential, but I know Cash Strike will hit the sweet spot for some of you.
