Cat Clans 2 Mad Cats Slot (Snowborn Games) Slot Demo & Review

My Cat likes to keep herself to herself…. But she does have a kind of sixth sense that seems to let her identify whenever somebody less than desirable shows up in my flat! If I were to let her go outside though, I have a feeling that she would soon be in charge of her own Cat Clan too, in no time… she’s a clever little feline, so I reckon she’d find a way to become the leader of Mad Cats Cat Clans 2 online slot in no time! This 96% slot machine offers 20 fixed pay lines as well as a generous maximum prize of 20,000 times the total bet. Ah, I knew you wouldn’t let me down, Eliot!

The game features lots of features that tie in nicely with the Cat Clan theme; take the Furry Spins, for example, which is a free spin feature that awards up to 5 free spins. That doesn’t sound like a lot, but every wild that lands during this mode will boost the value of another wild by 1x and reset your spin count back to its initial value of 3/4/5. Hold on though… But you thought that there were mad cats? Aha, patience, my friends! The Mad Respins require you to collect overlay paw symbols which appear on our feline friends from time to time. The reels used in this mode do away with the regular symbols, replacing them with mystery and blank icons. More on that later, though – or you could just go ahead and check it out right away using the bonus buy facility for 100x the normal price per spin.

Think you have what it takes to get your hands on €20,000 being guarded by a bunch of feral cats? I don’t recommend it myself, but hey – our free demo slot of Cat Clans 2 is available below for the braver amongst you!

Cat Clans 2 Mad Cats Slot Paytable
Cat Clans 2 Mad Cats slot paytable

I’ve said it before, but the Cat is typically regarded as the Interents spiriting animal – as such, you’ll find the creatures appear in a multitude of online slots, some good, some bad. We recently looked at Bozo Cats from Playson, giving it a 7.5 rating in our comprehensive review, whilst Cats of the Caribbean was a definite improvement – funnily enough, that game was also produced by Snowbown and achieved a more than respectable score of 8.3 when I looked at it last year. So, how the big question – how does the cat theme of Cat Clans2: Mad Cats hold up against such strong competition?

One thing I definitely appreciate when opening the paytable of this machine is its generous paytable – the wild symbol has a heavy premium attached to it. Returning 111x your total should all five symbols happen to land on a payline. The ‘furry spins’ scatter symbol also offers a little bit of something 1.5x, 3x, or 9x depending on the number of triggering scatters. Sure, it isn’t much, but it’s undeniably better than nothing! As for the regular symbols, we’ve got two cats – blue and green – who are worth 12.5 the total bet for all five of their symbols, whilst a full pay line of the blue or purple cats will net you 10x your current stack back in winnings. Two medium symbols – a jerry can and a tin of cat food (not sure what the link is there?) both offer 5x the bet for a five of a kind combination, whilst the low-paying symbols feature the four playing card suits and offer 2.5x, 2x. 1.5x and 1.25x for the hearts, spades, clubs, and diamonds, respectively.

The betting range offered here is relatively sensible – minimum/maximum wagers of €0.20 and €25.00 per spin respectively, with more than enough other bets available between those limits.

Base Game & Modifiers

Cat Clans 2 Mad Cats Slot Base Game
Cat Clans 2 Mad Cats slot base game

There isn’t much to discuss regarding the base game of Mad Cats – the developer has chosen to tie up all of this game’s RTP in its several bonus rounds. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but it doesn’t leave me with much to tell you about the base game – it utilises a traditional 5×3 video slot layout, which is a perfect size for a game with just 20 paylines.

Wild Symbols

Almost every online slot has wild symbols, but the ones included in this game also come with multipliers of up to 5x attached to them. During the Furry Spins feature, these multipliers can grow even larger up to a maximum of 10x.

Cat Clans 2 Mad Cats Slot Bonus Features

Cat Clans 2 Mad Cats Slot Free Spins Feature

There are two main bonus rounds included in Mad Cats – the Furry Spins are triggered by hitting the special scatters that appear on reels three, four, and five only, whilst the mad respins use the paw overlays as their triggering mechanism.

Furry Spins

In this mode, wilds landing on the reels will re-trigger the feature with the same number of free spins you started. When a wild lands, it becomes locked in place. During every round, one locked wild will have its multiplier increased by 1x. If you run out of free spins and no wilds land on your final round, the feature will end.

Mad Spins

Collecting the overlay pay symbols will eventually cause a random activation of the Mad Respins feature. In this mode, the reels are replaced with a new set containing only blank spaces and mystery boxes. When no new mystery boxes land during a re-spin, the feature will end. At that time, all mystery boxes will open to reveal random matching symbols.

Bonus Buy

Players who can access the feature buy menu have three options available if they wish to access the free spins instantly.

  • 3 Furry Spins: Costs 50x the bet.
  • 4 Furry Spins Mad: Costs 80x the bet.
  • 5 Furry Spins Max: Cost 200x the bet.

Pros

  • I like the theme, although the whole ‘mad cats’ theme could probably have been done better.
  • A nice jackpot of 20,000x the total bet.

Cons

  • The Mad Spins feature was a bit of a damp squib in my experience – it takes far too long to pay you far too little!

Final Thoughts

I’m genuinely unsure about this one – I didn’t enjoy testing it in particular, but I can’t help but feel it would probably grow on me over time. I guess my only advice on Cat Clans2: Mad Cats would be to try I for yourself.
