The title of this game is Chicken Fox, but a quick glance at the title screen made me wonder if it should be called Chicken vs Fox! Not that it would be much of a battle, that’s one big fox. Poor chickens, they can’t even go about their business laying a few eggs without a giant predator roaming in and ruining their day! I love the fun theme of this machine, and the feature set looks reasonably exciting too! Chicken Fox Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
The chicken is a curious animal to use as the theme for an online slot, but that hasn’t stopped developers from coming up with increasingly varied ways of building new games around them! Pragmatic Play has released several machines based around the oversized birds, such as Chicken Drop and Chicken Chase, and they have also shown up in a bunch of recent farm-themed games as well! In my view, adding in the fox is a stroke of genius, as it gives this machine a touch of humour that you don’t often see in the online casino industry. If I had to criticise anything about the theme, I’d say that I prefer the intro graphics to those used on the reels – that’s subjective, of course, so your opinion may differ.
The ‘wild lady’ symbol is the only wild which has a special payout attached to it and only appears during the base game. You’ll receive 166x your current bet any time that five of those symbols appear on an active payline. The bonus-triggering scatters are worth up to 100x your bet for five of a kind, whilst any combination of five different chickens will pay 6.66x the current stake. As for the regular symbols, the tractor is the best of the bunch with a return of 13.33x for all five, followed by a very happy and well-fed looking pig which pays 10x. The goat is worth 8.33x your bet for a complete payline, after which we get to the low-paying royals, which return between 3.33x and 5x your bet.
I’m not entirely sure why Lightning Box went for increments of €0.30 for the betting range here – I would have thought that €0.25 would make more sense, considering that there are 25 paylines available. As it stands, the minimum/maximum bets are €0.30 and €240.00, respectively.
Base Game & Modifiers
Most of the cool features included in Chicken Fox are reserved for the bonus round. That’s a bit of a shame but certainly not unusual in the world of online slots. The base game utilises a five reel, three row playfield spanned by 25 fixed paylines. You’ll need three or more matching symbols starting from the left to score a win.
Wild Lady
The wild lady is the only one of the game’s three wild symbols to have a cash prize associated with it. It’s also the most valuable symbol in the game, paying 166x the current bet for all five symbols. The wild lady only appears during the base game and is replaced by the wild fox during free spins.
Chicken Fox Slot Bonus Features
The main free spin bonus round is triggered by hitting three or more golden egg scatter symbols. The golden egg does not appear during the bonus round, but you can still win additional free spins via the wild fox feature. You’ll receive a cash payout of 2x, 10x, or 100x your bet for three, four, or five golden eggs, respectively.

The number of triggering scatter symbols determines the number of free spins awarded. You’ll receive eight free spins for a minimum three-scatter trigger or 15 or 30 spins when the bonus round is activated by four or five scatter symbols, respectively.
In this mode, two additional wild symbols are added to the reels – a wild fox and a 2x multiplier wild fox. Both of these ‘foxy wilds’ are permanently on the hunt for the duration of the bonus round! Although the gameplay of Chicken Fox isn’t anything extraordinary, the fun theme goes a long way to making this machine a lot more interesting than it might otherwise have been. The variance isn’t too crazy, meaning you should get a good amount of playtime out of even a smaller bankroll, and yet the game still offers a reasonable jackpot of 5,000x your bet. Recommended!
