You can win between seven and 13 free spins depending on the number of triggering scatter symbols, whilst the “Golden Bet” feature will double your chances of hitting the bonus round. Christmas Plaza Doublemax Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
If I tried to tell you about all of the Christmas-themed online slots that are out there, this would undoubtedly be the longest review I have ever written here at Demoslot. I could fill this section with some background information on the history of the Christmas holiday, but that would probably be a pointless waste of energy, too – come on, how many people can there be who don’t already know everything there is to know about Christmas? I guess I’ll point you in the direction of a couple more recent games with a similar theme for you to try once you have finished playing this one! Christmas Carol Megaways is definitely worth a look, whilst the Christmas Edition of the Big Bass Bonanza franchise is also a definite contender for this year’s best seasonal slot machine. These games often tend to be simple clones of existing slots, as many players won’t bother with them after the Christmas period has passed. I guess we can’t blame the developers for putting the minimum amount of effort into these games with that in mind.
My concerns around this slot continued to grow after I first looked at the paytable; the highest-paying symbol is the bell, but it only has a return of 5x the current stake for a full pay line of five-of-a-kind. The snow globe takes the second-placed spot with a payout of 3.5x for all five symbols, whilst the candy cane is worth just 2.5x, and the Champagne bottle even less at only 2x your bet for each completed pay line. I soon remembered, however, that these numbers are subject to being multiplied by several thousand times if you manage to hit enough consecutive wins, so perhaps they are not quite as concerning as I first imagined.
The betting range starts at a minimum of €0.20 per spin and maxes out at a more than reasonable €50.00 per round. There’s a decent number of intervals between these two extremes, which should ensure that all players can find a wager that suits their style, taste, and bankroll.
Base Game & Modifiers
The regular gameplay of Christmas Plaza Doublemax utilises a typical five by three playfield, along with the common “rolling reels” payout mechanic, which means that any winning combinations you hit will be immediately removed from the reels to allow new symbols to fall in from the top of the screen.
What’s a little less common is the multiplier which is applied to each consecutive win. This will continue to double up indefinitely as long as you continue to hit winning combinations during the base game, potentially reaching as high as 2,048x or 4,096x. However, I only saw numbers as large as those during the bonus round during my testing.
Double Up Multiplier
Just a quick clarification of the above here; every winning combination will double the current multiplier, meaning every spin starts at 1x before increasing to 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x, and so on, for each consecutive winning combination.
Golden Bet Feature
For an additional cost of 25% on top of the regular price per spin, you can double your chances of hitting the free spin bonus round. That sounds like a good deal to me, so I would probably opt to play with this option enabled.
Christmas Plaza Doublemax Slot Bonus Features
Hitting at least three present scatter symbols will trigger the free spins bonus round, with seven spins being awarded for the minimum three-scatter trigger. If you should hit more than three scatters, 10 or 13 free spins will be awarded for four or five scatter symbols, respectively.
Free Spins
The free spins feature works like the base game, with one crucial difference: the double up multiplier is not reset between spins! Of course, different reel sets are used during the free spins feature, meaning that you won’t reach the higher multipliers as easily as you could during the base game.
However, I still managed to reach multipliers of over 1,000x during my game testing and had some really exciting bonus rounds, so I feel this is a feature worth waiting for or perhaps even purchasing.
Bonus Buy
The bonus feature costs 100x the regular price per spin and will immediately award you seven free spins. You can then choose to gamble your spins to try and win the 10 or 13 spin bonus rounds instead, should you wish, but if you lose the gamble, your buy-in is immediately lost.
I lost my buy-in countless times while testing this slot, so I would recommend staying away from the gamble option. Seven free spins for 100x, the usual bet, still isn’t bad, and you can always purchase another feature afterwards if you want to, rather than risking your huge buy-in and ending up with nothing.

It’s much too early in the year to say whether this game will be a true contender for the best Christmas slot of 2022, but it’s a worthwhile contribution, in my opinion, and I found the bonus round to be particularly fun and profitable during my testing of this game.
