Game Overview
We’ve seen Blue Guru once or twice before here at demoslot.com, but the developer’s latest game, “Clash of the Seraphim” online slot, looks set to be one of their most adventurous games to date. It’s a huge grid based slot with a major underlying story and theme, features a dynamic trigger system unique to the slot, and even has a dark and light free games system with two different features to earn and experience. Wins are awarded for clusters of five to 49(!) matching symbols, whilst the RTP is 95.51%. A simulated run of 100 billion rounds produced a maximum win of 3,938x your bet.
Digging a little deeper into the features, you’ll find scatters appearing on the middle reel only, which drop to the bottom of the screen before free games are awarded as well as multiplier wilds, the custom drop areas (dark, light, and scatter) which move around in between rounds and the dark (eight spins) and light (15 spins) free games.

Clash Of The Seraphim Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
The term seraphim has been used throughout popular culture during the past fifty years, with no apparent pattern to the characters and statements made in relation to the word. Searching google shows that the term “seraphim” is used in the Jewish, Christian, and Islamic holy books, typically referring to a celestial being with two or three pairs of wings and “serving as a throne guardian of god”. For me, the use that stands out was in the television series “Humans” a few years ago, where a seraphim was a robotic human child with artificial intelligence. It’s all quite full on, isn’t it! Presumably, the seraphim, in this case, are the male and female characters.
There is a huge range of numbers shown on the game’s paytable, with different prizes being awarded for more than 20 different numbers of matching symbols! The lowest of the bunch begins all the way down at combinations of just five symbols, whilst 40-49 matching symbols in a cluster are required to win the biggest prizes. Typically the male “Seraphim”, or possibly seraph – Seraphim may be plural, if I am understanding correctly – has the highest return at 1,000x your stake for a 40-49 symbol cluster. You aren’t going to be seeing anything like that every day, of course, so a much more reasonable prize to note might be the 100x paid for 18 matching symbols. The female seraph pays roughly half as much straight down the line, with a top prize of 500x your bet. There really aren’t many symbols used in the Clash of the Seraphim online slot – a red and green orb, presumably, one for each character, sits in the middle of the pack with payouts of 150x/100x for the 40-49 symbol cluster of 40x/15x for 18 symbols, whilst red and green diamonds are used for the low pays and have a return of 50x/30x or 7x/4.5x. It’s surprising to see so few symbols with such a large playfield, but Blue Guru has made it work, and the plus side is that it keeps things incredibly simple.
You have an enormous range of wagers available to you, too, as the minimum bet per spin is just €0.10, whilst the maximum of €200.00 is surely more than enough for even the most bankroll-heavy online gambler!
Base Game & Modifiers
The Clash of the Seraphim slot game takes place on a 7×7 playfield for a total of 49 positions, so the highest payouts we have just discussed represent a full screen of matching symbols. With most grid slots, a full screen of matching symbols would seem completely unrealistic, but that isn’t the case here due to the wild multiplier feature described below.
You’ll need five or more matching symbols on adjacent positions to hit the lowest possible wins, and there is a sliding scale of payouts for each of the game’s six symbols that range from 5 up to 40-49 matching symbols at the top of the list. The base game has a few innovative twists to it, too – keep your eyes open for:
Wild Multipliers
The wild symbol is extremely valuable in this game as it will convert the entire drop zone into a wild cluster each time it lands in the dark or light drop zone. Furthermore, when multiple wilds land simultaneously, a multiplier equal to the number of wilds will be applied to your winnings after the conversion has taken place.
Drop Zones
The primary drop zones are the dark area, which includes the leftmost three reels, and the light area, which covers the three reels closest to the right. A white outline will appear within the drop zone at the start of each spin and can change in size from a minimum of 2×2 to a maximum of 3×7. During the bonus rounds, this size restriction is removed, and the drop zones can expand to any size.
A further drop zone is located at the bottom of the centre reel, which the game calls the scatter area. It does not move or resize and is removed during the bonus rounds. You’ll need to land a scatter here to trigger the feature, which wasn’t so easy in my experience – the bonus buy feature felt like a bargain in the end!
Clash Of The Seraphim Slot Free Spins Feature
Whether you buy your way to the feature or land it organically during regular play, your first decision will be whether you want to play the dark or light free games. You receive almost double the number of spins when opting for the light option, but the volatility is equally reduced by roughly half. Here’s how they work:
Dark Free Games Feature
During the dark free games, the light area frame is removed, and the dark area drop zone will expand to a much larger size than it does during the base game. Things work very similarly in both features, in all honesty, so I must guess that the difference comes in what symbols can be dropped and the size of the drop zone that is randomly spawned. The feature cannot be re-triggered.
Light Free Games Feature
There is no real difference between these free spins and the dark free games, but you do receive 15 spins rather than the eight awarded for the dark feature. The light frame appears to spawn much smaller than the dark frame, but on the whole, I would say that my winnings more or less evened out during testing due to the greater number of free spins.
Bonus Buy
You can opt to go straight to the bonus round by paying 75x your stake if permitted within your jurisdiction. I have to say this felt like a genuine bargain after struggling to hit the bonus round for some time whilst testing this game, so if this option is available to you, I’d consider taking it.
Clash Of The Seraphim Slot Review Final Thoughts
This game deserves to do well for Blue Guru games; it isn’t as good as the best grid slots from Play’N’Go, but those guys have mastered the genre by now, and it’s good to see other developers trying their hand at this great fun style of online slot.
