Game Overview
If you’re a fan of live casino gameshows, you’ll know there’s quite the choice if the type you enjoy most is Wheel of Fortune style games. They’re simple to play compared to other live casino games, so they appeal to a wider audience, and results are determined by the laws of physics rather than an RNG. BetGames is one of many suppliers that has dipped its toes into offering this type of iGaming experience, and one of the developer’s titles is Classic Wheel, a game I’m reviewing today.
Once you load up the Classic Wheel game via the BetGames live casino lobby, you’re greeted with a sizeable 19-segment wheel in a bright, modern studio streamed live from Lithuania. The live host of the hour spins the wheel and commentates on the action, and you’re left to consider the betting options available to you before placing them in time for the next round. In many ways, Classic Wheel is similar to roulette; it’s almost a mini-variation delivered in an upright manner. You can wager on single numbers, number ranges, or colours.
It may take a few rounds to understand how to play Classic Wheel, which is why it’s great that BetGames provides free-to-play demo versions of their live games. You can check out the Classic Wheel demo below.
Classic Wheel slot theme, stakes, pays & symbols
Classic Wheel’s roulette-style aspect makes it different from most live wheel games you might have played. We all know that many of them, such as Evolution’s Crazy Time, offer huge multipliers and bonus rounds. Classic Wheel cannot compete with the larger payouts of some of those games, but in a way, that is its appeal. It offers simple and easy action and, for the most part, safer bets with lower returns.
There are just three types of bets you can place, although you can place multiple bets for each round.
- Single Number / Cup Bet: You bet on a number from 1-18 or the Cup segment. This pays 18x the stake if it comes in.
- Bet on one of Grey, Black, or Red: The numbers are split into three different colours on the reels. You can bet on the winning having your chosen colour to win a 3x return.
- Bet on a Number Range (1-6, 7-12, or 13-18): Similar to the colour bet, as you’re betting on a third of the reel, is the number range bet. You can choose to wager on one of three six-number ranges to come in for a return of 3x.
You can stake between €1.00 – €50.00 on each of the above betting options. Remember, you’re not limited to a single bet and can place as many as you like. You can mix up your betting strategy to give yourself a better chance of winning.
How to Play Classic Wheel
Classic Wheel is about as straightforward as it gets when it comes to playing. You simply wait for a new round to start, which isn’t long as they’re played every two minutes, and just under a minute of that time is given to you to place your bets.
Betting requires you to choose a chip value of 0.5, 1, 2, 5, 10, 25, or 50 and click the betting option you want to place that chip on. The live host will spin the wheel once your bets are set and the timer counts down to zero. Once it comes to a halt, the winner number is declared, all bets are settled, and the process starts over for the next round.
The stream shows the results of the last five rounds before each new round starts, but if you want to go back further, you can click the Results button. Other options include choosing the preferred resolution of the stream, 540p, 360p, or 270p. You can even turn it off altogether if you’re only interested in seeing the results pop up rather than witnessing them live.
Pros
- Very simple gameplay that anyone can understand.
Cons
- You cannot currently watch the stream in Full HD - something other titles allow.
Classic Wheel Review Final Thoughts
There are heaps of wheel games out there, many of which have a lot more in terms of gameplay, whether that is bonus games or mega multipliers. However, it’s called Classic Wheel for a reason, and that’s because it is a simple, no-thrills wheel game that allows you to bet on spins every two minutes. It is that fast-paced action and the bets-per-hour it allows, which is the main reason it will appeal to players.
