Cloud Corsairs Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
We’ve already talked a little about the theme, so we’ll keep it brief here – the game is presented as if you are standing on the bridge of the airship with a cloud city floating in the sky above you, and the golden reels take up the majority of the viewport area – how am I meant to fly this thing with all these reels in the way? I sure hope I get insurance if this thing goes down whilst I’m spinning slots instead of flying the airship… I guess if it goes down, I won’t have to worry about being court marshalled, so there is that! I’ve seen plenty of other games with Zeppelin in the title, like Cazino Zeppelin, for example. Still, none of them has been based on actual Zeppelin’s, so Fantasma is possibly doing something of a first here.
So, how are the payouts? A full line of the top Zeppelin symbol will reward you with 8x your stake – it doesn’t sound so impressive. Still, there is an additional multiplier reel, which I don’t recall seeing on any slot before and has a maximum value of 10x on it, increasing the value of a full line of Zeppelin’s up to a potential of 80x your stake. Now that isn’t so bad, is it? Our female captain pays 7x for five-of-a-kind, followed by the old guy who also pays 7x, but a little less for the four/three-of-a-kind combinations compared to his lady friend. The same is true of the parrot and mercenary, who each pay 6x for five-of-a-kind, but the parrot is worth a little bit more for the lower combinations. A variety of special symbols come into play during the special features, but none have any payoff attached to them, so they aren’t especially relevant here.
Choosing your stake is done by hitting the stack of coins in the lower-left corner of the screen, and the options range from €0.25 per spin up to €30.00 per spin for you high rollers with bankrolls bigger than your sports car.
Base Game & Modifiers
I’ll say one thing – if you are playing this game with the sound on, it’s certainly dramatic! The background music is incredibly intense anyway, but the sound of the reels spinning is nothing short of extreme. You’ll be playing on a 5×3 playfield as with many other online slots, but with the addition of the multiplier reel on the right-hand side of the screen. Any time you score a win, the multiplier reel will perform an animation as it boosts the value of your win. It all feels very full-on, and I enjoyed leaving the sound on because it adds a real sense of drama and intensity to your session.
Zeppelin Re-spin
The Zeppelin symbol can land on any reel during both the base game and regular free spins, and if three of them land on a pay line, it will activate the Zeppelin re-spin modifier.
When this occurs, all Zeppelin symbols will be locked in place, and the reels will re-spin automatically. If additional Zeppelin symbols land on the free re-spin, those symbols will lock too, and your multiplier shown at the bottom of the reels will increase by the value shown on the multiplier reel for that spin.
This process will continue until you either fill the screen with Zeppelin’s or no more Zeppelin symbols land on the next re-spin. Note that the multiplier has a cap of 50x. However, I never got anywhere near that during testing.
Lightning Mystery Modifier
Before any base game spin, the lightning mystery feature may trigger and create a lightning pattern around six random positions. All selected positions will transform into one matching symbol – it can be any of the higher paying symbols except for the Zeppelin.
After this, your spin will proceed as usual, and if you are lucky, you may just line up a massive win if lots of additional matching symbols happen to drop. I didn’t get too lucky with this one, but I only saw it kick in a handful of times, so my sample size is very small. It could well be a great paying feature, but it wasn’t for me.
Cloud Corsairs Slot Free Spins Feature
You’ll need to hit three bonus symbols on reels two, three, and four to trigger the free spins feature. This will award you 12 free spins in the regular free spins feature.
During the free spins (and super free spins) features, wins are evaluated in both directions rather than just left-to-right, effectively doubling the number of pay lines. Any bonus symbols which land during this mode will be added to a meter – you cannot retrigger the free spins.
If you collect four bonus symbols, you will receive four additional free spins and unlock the top position of the multiplier reel. After nine bonus symbols are collected, another four free spins are added to your counter, and the bottom multiplier reel position is also activated. Wins on all paylines are now multiplied by the values on the multiplier reel.
Collect a full 15 bonus symbols during this mode to win yourself entry to the super free spins after your bonus completes.
Super Free Spins Feature
The super free spins utilise a completely different reel set consisting only of Zeppelin and blank symbols. Any Zeppelin symbols which drop will lock and remain sticky for the duration of the super-free spins. You only get five super free spins, but with all of the multiplier reel positions now unlocked, you won’t need too many Zeppelin’s to score a huge win. Again, the multiplier is capped at 50x, and no winnings are paid during the super free spins – your prize is summed up at the end of the feature. I only managed to get here once, and I had to play a hell of a lot to do so. It was worth it, though, as I came out with over 300x my stake. Did I spend that much getting here? Almost certainly, but perhaps you will be luckier!
Bonus Buy Feature
For a cost of 100x your regular stake, you can purchase the regular free spins directly. This option is only available in jurisdictions which haven’t banned such features (IE, sites without a UKGC license or another non-permitting regulator). There is no way to purchase the super-free spins directly.
Is 100x a good deal? Probably – the RTP is slightly higher if you opt to just play using this option, which does suggest it is possibly worth it, but be careful – even at the minimum bet, your bankroll can disappear in minutes if you opt to just play using the bonus buy option.

I thoroughly enjoyed testing Cloud Corsairs for this review and have put it on my list of games to try next time I am playing for real money. It may not be an all-time classic, but I imagine every slot player will get a kick out of this one!
