Coin Blox (Peter & Sons) Slot Demo & Review

Provider Peter & Sons is one of those slot developers you instantly recognise as a creator of a game as soon as you power it up, thanks to the unique design style associated with their content. All their slots look amazing, but that’s not the only reason Peter & Sons has enjoyed a rapid rise to success in recent years; that can also be attributed to the quality of gameplay their titles usually offer. As a fan myself, I can’t wait to get into the latest title to roll out of the studio, Coin Blox, a 6×6 slot with 50 paylines, an RTP of 96.2%, and a 10,000x maximum win.

As for the features, the Monster Blocks and Synced Blocks mechanics from titles such as Gnomes & Giants and Frozen Age are back. Every spin will feature a Monster Block of at least 2×2 in size and up to 6×6; randomly, these may sync to contain the same regular symbol. Spins can also reveal Coin Blocks offering instant prizes of up to 100x in the base game and 500x in the free spins bonus. Additionally, an excellent 4-level Bonus Game could lead to you collecting instant wins worth up to 5,000x the stake.

Understandably, I know many of you only like to wager real money on slots you already know you’ll enjoy. That’s why we’ve provided the Coin Blox demo slot below, which you can play for free to establish if it’s worth risking some of your hard-earned cash.

Despite Peter & Sons first entering the slots world just a few years ago in 2019, the developer has already put together an impressive collection of games. I’ve been a fan of the studio from the start, so I have played many of them myself, and some I still play regularly, such as Frozen Age, a title that is not too dissimilar to this one. It’s played across a 6×6 grid, has the same Monster Blocks mechanic, and has a slightly lower max win of 8,000x the stake. Another favourite is a recent title called Ghost Father, which has a traditional 5×3 layout, a lucrative free spins bonus, and a 10,000x max win. The great news, as always, is you can play all these free casino games from Peter & Sons on our platform any time that you wish.

Back to Coin Blox, as it’s about time I cast my eyes over the paytable so you know the payouts you can go gunning for. The top symbol payout is shared by the Wild, which also substitutes for all regular symbols and the Sparkling Diamond. They’re both worth 4x your stake for a 6-symbol combination. The Fly is next up with a max return of 2.5x, and then there are Swirl and Star symbols, which reward up to 2x and 1.2x, respectively. The V, Diamond Shape, Arrow, and Cross offer the smaller payouts in the slot of 6x, 0.5x, 0.4x, and 0.4x, respectively.

On the Coin Blox demo, you can place bets between €20 and €5000, but I’d take those with a pinch of salt. The data sheet on the Peter & Sons website shows it as €0.10 to €50.00, which is what I expect you’ll find when playing the real money version of the game.

Base Game & Modifiers

Coin Blox Slot Base Game
Coin Blox slot base game

Peter & Sons have gone for a 6×6 grid layout on the Coin Blox slot, and within that grid are 50 paylines. You’ll win a payout whenever three or more symbols land on successive reels across one of those paylines.

Monster Blocks

Every spin is guaranteed to feature between 1 and 9 Monster Blocks between 2×2 and 6×6 in size. These can be Monster-sized versions of any regular symbol.

Synced Blocks

Triggered randomly, all the Monster Blocks on the reels may sync by converting all symbols to the same type of regular symbol.

Coin Blocks

Coin Blocks can randomly land on the reels, and when this happens, a Cart arrives below the reels and can collect the coins from between 2 and 6 rows. You’ll receive the instant prize value of any coins collected, and the symbol will then be converted into a regular symbol. The size of instant prizes depends on whether they land during the base game, free spins bonus game, or with the Coins Bet feature activated. Below are the prize ranges as a multiplier of the stake for each:

  • Base Game Spins: 0.2x, 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 3x, 5x, 10x, 25x, 50x, 100x.
  • Free Spins: 0.5x, 1x 2x, 3x, 5x, 10x, 25x, 50x, 100x, 250x, 500x.
  • Spins with Coins Bet Active: 0.2x, 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 3x, 5x, 10x, 25x, 50x, 100x, 250x, 1,000x.

Coin Blox Slot Bonus Features

Coin Blox Slot Bonus Feature

For me, the best part of the Coin Blox slot is the two bonus features, one which is a free spins round, and another which is a unique style of bonus game.

Free Spins

If five or more Lighter scatter symbols land on a spin, you’ll trigger free spins. You’ll receive 5 free spins and an additional free spin for each additional scatter that triggered the feature. There’s nothing too special about the free spins bonus, as the spins play out similar to the base game, just that there are bigger-value coin symbols available. You’ll receive additional spins each time a free spins symbol lands on the grid.

Bonus Game

Once this bonus is activated, you’re taken to a new screen containing an initial 4×4 grid below locked grids containing 6, 3, and then 1 position. On every spin, coins can land in the unlocked grids and reward you with prizes as a multiplier of your bet ranging from 0.5x to 5,000x. The value range of the coins that can land depends on the current level unlocked. These and the additional grids unlock when a certain number of key symbols are collected.

  • Level 1 (already unlocked): 0.5x, 1x, 2x, 5x.
  • Level 2: 5x, 10x, 25x.
  • Level 3: 25x, 50x, 100x.
  • Level 4: 250x, 500x, 1,000x, 5,000x.

You need to collect 5 keys to unlock level 2, 11 to unlock level 3, and 17 to unlock level 4.

Bonus Buy

You can purchase either of the bonus games via the Buy Bonus feature (if allowed in your region). The Free Spins Bonus costs 70x your stake, and the Bonus Game costs 100x.

Pros

  • Two bonus features, the best being the Coin Bonus Game.
  • Fantastic work on the slot from the design team at Peter & Sons.

Cons

  • The free spins feature could have had some extra modifiers added to it.

Coin Blox Slot Review Final Thoughts

I’ve followed Peter & Sons quite closely over the years as I’ve always been impressed with the software developers' graphical style and the unique slots they create. Coin Blox is another that will now take pride of place on my playlist. The Coin Bonus feature, in particular, is not only enjoyable but lucrative at the same time. Fully unlock the grid and you’re looking at the potential to land coins with up to 5,000x the stake.
