Cosmic Cash Demo Slot (Pragmatic Play) Slot Demo & Review

I’ve become quite fond of Pragmatic Play’s online slots during the past few years, so much so that I’m normally quite excited to check out what the developer has created each time they release a new game. It didn’t take much time from the moment I began testing the Cosmic Cash online slot before I realised that this was going to be another big hit for the developer, so stick around – this will be a good one! Cosmic Cash features 40 fixed pay lines, a higher-than-average RTP of 96.56% (increasing slightly to 96.58% when using the bonus buy feature) and a capped maximum win of 2,650x your stake.

As far as features go, there aren’t many – most of the action comes in the form of the “Cosmic Respins” feature, which can award big prizes all by itself and open a doorway to a regular free spin bonus round and several jackpot prizes. These jackpots sound a lot like progressives with names such as MINI, MINOR, MAJOR, and so forth, but they all have a fixed return based on the amount you are betting on each spin. You can also win the free spins, although this seemed rare compared to hitting the Cosmic Respins feature.

This is a hugely fun online slot – even when you are just in free play mode! On that note, why not give our free demo slot of Cosmic Cash a blast? It’s available here:

Cosmic Cash Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols

Paytable For Cosmic Cash Slot

The theme of Cosmic Cash can easily be described as “Aliens”, but it’s a very cutesy interpretation of that theme – not at all like the movie “Aliens”! The game’s high-paying symbols are all space-themed, including a handful of alien characters, a woman in a space suit, a spaceship, and so forth, and whilst they all look reasonably good, they aren’t what I would call super high-resolution. Even the royal symbols look a little bit cheap considering that this is a major release by a top-tier developer – it’s surprising but forgivable considering the overall quality of the game.

On that note, let’s investigate the game’s paytable – with 40 pay lines, you know that the wins will be smaller than most games with 10 lines, but even when you consider this, the numbers shown still seem a tad too low. The top symbol is one of the “Roswell Greys”, although he is coloured bright green here and pays just 5x your stake for a full pay line of five-of-a-kind; yes, these symbols are stacked on the reels, making it possible to win on lots of lines simultaneously, but you would still expect to see something higher than this on the paytable. The rest of the “high-paying” symbols include the space girl who pays 3.75x your bet for five-of-a-kind, two smaller aliens who both have a return of 2.5x your bet for all five, and a spaceship and a ray gun, both of which pay less than 2x your stake for five-of-a-kind. The entire set of royals from nine through to Ace all pay 1.25x for a full pay line, which feels a little strange but fair enough.

At the bottom of the paytable, there are one or two surprises – first, you have the wild symbol, which it turns out pays out more than twice as much as the highest-paying regular symbol at 12.5x your stake for a full pay line. Then you have the “Cosmic Cash” symbol, which acts as the games scatter; this one only pays 2x your bet for the minimum of three required to trigger a bonus round, but four scatters will reward you with 10x your bet whilst all five pay 100x – the biggest prize on the paytable.

Setting your bet can be done simply by using the plus and minus symbols on either side of the spin button. Still, anytime you press one of these buttons, you’ll also be presented with three options allowing you to set the number of coins per line, the coin value, or your total bet. These options feel slightly unnecessary to me – the minimum bet is €0.40 per spin whilst the maximum is €200.00 per spin – and breaking this down into three separate variables just doesn’t seem helpful as far as I’m concerned.

Base Game & Modifiers

Play With 5 Reels, 49 Fixed Paylines, And Win Up To 2,650x Your Bet On Cosmic Cash From Game Provider Pragmatic Play

Let’s be honest – things are sounding slightly shaky so far. The presentation is less than perfect, the paytable looks a little bit on the tight side, and then you have a less-than-ideal bet selection mechanism that unnecessarily complicates what should be one of the simplest parts of the slot.

But let’s back up a little bit – the base game features a 5×4 reel set, which spaces out the 40 pay lines much more than would be possible on a regular-sized 5×3 playfield. Once you begin to play a few spins, you will soon notice another symbol which wasn’t mentioned on the basic paytable we described in the previous section – it’s a coin. Each one that lands on the reels has a random prize value assigned to it of anywhere between 1x and 100x your bet. To collect these prizes, you must hit six or more of these coin symbols on a single spin, which will trigger the Cosmic Respins feature.

It’s a shame that Pragmatic Play did not opt to include a base game modifier or two to break up the action a little bit in between bonus rounds, but at least there are two distinct bonus rounds to look forward to!

Cosmic Cash Slot Free Spins Feature

There Are 2 Bonus Features That Can Be Triggered On Cosmic Cash Video Slot

The base game can only take you so far in Cosmic Cash – all the biggest wins are reserved for the games bonus rounds, including a Grand Jackpot of 2,500x your stake that can be won in the Cosmic Respins feature. That sounds great but presents a bit of a problem in that the game has a maximum win cap of 2,650x your bet; if you have a great Cosmic Respins feature and end up winning both the Grand Jackpot and some free spins, you probably won’t get to play many free spins before the cap is hit and your feature will end prematurely. I really wish that Pragmatic Play had made this cap a bit higher, as it seems to me that there will be a huge number of players that run into this cap if they begin to play this game regularly.

Cosmic Respins Feature

Hitting six or more of the golden coins (or “Money” symbols, as the help file calls them) will trigger the Cosmic Respins feature, which seems to be the most common bonus round offered by Cosmic Cash. It’s the familiar setup of starting with three free spins, and that counter will be reset each time an extra symbol lands anywhere on the screen. The reels change shape at the beginning of this feature, becoming just four-wide and pushing all the golden coins to the rightmost edge of the reels.

Any time you fill a row with golden coins, it will expand further to the left until it hits the maximum size of six spaces wide, at which point you will win the special “UFO Prize” displayed in the left row. These UFO prizes can include multipliers, jackpots, or free spins, and I completed two rows several times when I was testing this game.

The number of free spins you can win from this feature can vary wildly – sometimes, the game would offer just ten free spins, whilst on other occasions, I saw 100 free spins appear as a UFO prize. The most I happened to win during my time playing the game was 40 free spins, which finished with a total payout of roughly 250x my stake.

The jackpots offered with the game have fixed values of 20x your bet for MINI, 50x your bet for the MINOR, 250x your bet for MAJOR, and 2,500x your bet for the GRAND. Needless to say, I never won any grand jackpots, but if you do manage to collect one yourself, then I would cross your fingers that the rest of your feature happens to be terrible, or you are near enough certain to bump into the games maximum win cap of 2,650x your stake!

Free Spins Feature

You can win the regular Free Spins by hitting three or more “Cosmic Cash” scatter symbols during the base game or winning them as a UFO prize from within the Cosmic Respins feature. In my experience, it was much easier to win the Cosmic Respins and then end up with ten or fifteen free spins than it was to hit three scatters during the base game, but it’s impossible to know whether this was just the result of random luck on my part.

Either way, the regular free spins are boosted by the addition of up to 100 extra wild symbols to the reels at the beginning of your bonus round, which makes full stacks of wilds far more common in this part of the game than during the base game. Despite this, I still didn’t have too many genuinely massive hits during the Free Spins because I always failed to complete full pay lines of five-of-a-kind. My biggest win from the free spins during testing was a little over 200x my bet.

Bonus Buy

Pragmatic Play has included the option to buy your way to the Cosmic Respins at the cost of 100x your stake, a price which seemingly guarantees that you will land ten golden coins at the beginning of your feature. The value of these coins can vary wildly – sometimes, they can be worth less than 1x your bet, while others can be worth 100x. Whatever the value of your starting coins, you can be reasonably sure of hitting a few extra coins before the feature completes – but you certainly cannot be confident of a profit. Despite this, I would estimate that roughly 25% of my bonus buys resulted in a win over 100x my stake – for me, that makes this a good buy if the option is available to you.

Cosmic Cash Slot Review Final Thoughts

Pragmatic Play has created another winning online slot with Cosmic Cash despite its flaws. Even though I was fully aware of the maximum win cap of 2,650x my bet, it didn’t stop me from having plenty of fun testing this game and playing many bonus rounds to see how profitable they might be.

If only the developer had included a base game modifier or two and set the maximum win cap at 5,000x, I would be awarding an even higher score for Cosmic Cash. As it stands, these things – combined with the less than perfect presentation – stop the game from becoming an instant classic.
