Cyber Heist (Pragmatic Play) Slot Demo & Review

Do the guys at Pragmatic Play ever take a break? The studio churns out two or three new slots every week, which sounds impressive on the face of it. However, most of the time, the slots rarely feel unique, and in fact, often, they’re just cloned versions of other slots with a new theme and a slight tweak here or there. Familiarity strikes once more with the release of Cyber Heist, ‘another’ Scatter Pays slot played across a 6×5 reel configuration offering a 5,000x max win.

Despite my early concerns, a few things allow Cyber Heist to stand out slightly compared to previous releases. For one, the RTP is an impressive 97.34%, which is not only far higher than most other Pragmatic Play slots of recent times but higher than the vast majority of slots you’ll find as you circumvent the lobbies of online casinos far and wide. Another is a locked row above the reels that unlocks position by position as successive cascade wins occur. Those positions will unlock quicker and not reset between spins once you’re lucky enough to trigger the free spins bonus.

Whether you’ve played scatter pay slots in the past or not, what better way to get used to what it offers than by taking the Cyber Heist slot demo for a few free spins? You’ll find it directly below.

Four of the last twelve Pragmatic Play releases we’ve reviewed here at Demoslots have been Scatter Pays slots, which wouldn’t feel half as bad if the iGaming developer didn’t release at least eight slots each month. None of them are particularly bad slots; it’s just the fact there are so many of them that can make playing them (and reviewing them) feel repetitive. Some of my top picks of late, though, if you’d like to check them out, are the spooky-themed Gates of Xibalba, the festive-themed Xmas Spark, and an Asian-inspired Sweet Bonanza clone, Rujak Bonanza.

I’ve already given you hints in the intro about what you can expect from Cyber Heist, and if you’ve played Pragmatic Play titles before, you probably have a good idea yourself. However, it wouldn’t be a slot review if I didn’t properly take you through each aspect of the game, so let’s start with the symbols and payouts. The Bonus Scatter symbol is by far the most lucrative on the reels, as you can receive 100x the stake for 6 symbols anywhere in view. Compare that to the next best, a Futuristic Tablet that pays 50x for 15+ symbols, and you can see what I mean. Following that, we have a Wad of Cash, a Laser Gun, and Three Neon Sevens producing payouts of 25x, 15x, and 10x, respectively, if 15 or more appear in view at once. Rounding off the pays section are different coloured playing card symbols, with the Red offering a max win of 7.5x and the Purple, Blue, Green, and Yellow delivering up to 5x, 4x, 3x, and 2.5x, respectively.

I’ll give Pragmatic Play some dues, as the developer always offers players plenty of staking options to consider. That is the case again in Cyber Heist, as you can choose from over 30 stakes ranging between a minimum of €0.20 and a maximum of €100.00.

Cyber Heist Slot Base Game

Cyber Heist Base Game
Cyber Heist base game

Cyber Heist is a grid slot played over a 6×6 reel formation with players needing to land at least 8 matching symbols anywhere in view for a payout to be awarded.

Tumbling Reels

The Tumble Feature returns in Cyber Heist, ensuring the chance of multiple wins on a spin by removing winning symbols and creating space for new ones to drop into play. The difference this time is that tumbles can expand the reels one position at a time from left to right. Let me break down how that works:

  • The first tumble win unlocks the position above reel one.
  • After three, reel two’s position unlocks.
  • Six tumble wins lead to reel three unlocking.
  • Nine delivers you the position above reel four.
  • Twelve does the same for reel five.
  • And, finally, the position above reel six unlocks after 15 tumble wins.

Multiplier Symbols

Symbols you’d certainly like to see land frequently during the base game and free spins bonus are the multiplier symbols. These can hold values between 2x and 500x and will apply to the total win for the spin. If multiple multipliers land, they stack up, meaning they’re added together before applying to the total win for the spin.

Ante Bet

Another common feature on Pragmatic Play slots, the Ante Bet, makes a return enabling players to bet an additional 25% on top of their spin bet to add more bonus symbols on the reels. As you can guess, more extra symbols give you more chance of triggering the free spins bonus.

Cyber Heist Slot Bonus Features

Cyber Heist Free Spins Feature
Cyber Heist free spins feature

If you remember, I previously pointed out that the Bonus Scatter symbol offers the biggest standalone payouts for fewer required symbols than regular symbols. Well, along with those payouts, you’ll trigger the free spins bonus when 4 or more of these symbols hit the reels.

Free Spins

As the feature begins, you’re given 10 free spins, with all positions on the locked reel locked from the start. Like in the base game, those positions can unlock after the number of their lock reaches zero. Plus, all unlocked positions remain unlocked for the remaining duration of the free spins bonus. You will also receive an additional 5 free spins each time 3 or more bonus scatter symbols land.

Bonus Buy

If you want to eliminate the base game, a buy bonus feature lets you purchase the free spins bonus for 100x your current bet.

Pros

  • An impressively high 97.34% RTP.
  • Unlockable reel positions offer something different to similar Scatter Pays titles.

Cons

  • There are still a lot of similarities to countless other titles.

Cyber Heist Slot Review Final Thoughts

Perhaps I was slightly harsh in my introduction, as Cyber Heist offers something different from the many other Scatter Pays titles developed by Pragmatic Play. That said, it still feels very familiar in other ways, so you may get some short-term entertainment from the game but will likely tire of it quickly.
