Cyber Vault (Four Leaf Gaming) Slot Demo & Review

When you consider the rapid advances in technology that have occurred in recent years, it’s quite amazing. It doesn’t seem like that long at all since the family computer made inconvenient strange screeching noises as you quietly tried to dial up to a website whilst your parents were in bed, and, in a few years, if AI has its way, the world may be ruled by computers. Quite a scary thought indeed. Four Leaf Gaming has been inspired by this genre to produce its latest title, powered by Relax Gaming. It’s called Cyber Vault, and it’s a high volatility, five-reel, five-row slot with an RTP of 96.13% and a potential maximum win of 27,706x.

The youth of today are often very switched on when it comes to cyber; there are spotty teenagers all over the world with the ability to hack into crucial systems from the comfort of their bedrooms. The main character in this slot clearly has skills but is definitely not a spotty teenager; she is, in fact, a beautifully illustrated figure, keeping with the high standard of visuals across the game. Bordering the main reel set is a single row of additional positions, which is described as the Uplink Trail. Collecting battery symbols will award a spin on this trail, where cash prizes or the free spins bonus may be won. Once the free spins feature is triggered, all paytable symbols will be removed from the grid, leaving only cash values and battery symbols, and the Uplink Trail is boosted, with a wide variety of other special symbols added.

If the futuristic cyber domain is your type of thing, I think you’ll absolutely love this game. The theme has been delivered well and superbly integrated into the gameplay as you attempt to hack your way around the Uplink Trail in search of vulnerabilities you can exploit for a big win. Cyber Vault Slot Paytable
Cyber Vault slot paytable

The free spins round in Cyber Vault draws inspiration from the popular coin collection style bonus, which has seen great success in games like those in Relax Gaming’s Money Train series. One of the most recent, and arguably best of those, is Money Train 3, a high volatility slot with a sensational potential maximum win of 100,000x. However, if it’s the cyber theme you’re interested in, why not give Cyber Heist a shot? It’s another high-variance game with an attractive RTP of 97.34% that you can try out for free on our dedicated Pragmatic Play demo page. Make sure you go and check those recommendations out, but for now, stick with me as we take a further look into the features of Cyber Vault, starting over at the paytable.

Although many of the notable wins on this game are formed through the Uplink Trail or bonus game, there are also returns to be had by landing winning combinations of standard paytable symbols on the main reels. The premium versions of these are all non-descript computer devices, and the most valuable of these are the Purple and the Green symbols, which will both return 5x for each winning way of five. These are followed by the lower value premiums, the Red, Yellow, and Blue symbols, which will all pay 2x. The non-premium symbols are the Heart, at 1.2x, and the Diamond, Spade, and Club, which are all worth 1x per winning combination of five.

The available stakes on Cyber Vault range from a low of €0.10 to a high of €20.00, with many well-placed options in between. It’s rare to see such a low top-end, but realistically, I can’t imagine that many players often play above that level, so only a small number of high rollers should be negatively affected by this.

Cyber Vault Slot Base Game

Cyber Vault Slot Base Game

Cyber Vault uses a 5×5 grid and utilises a payways system. The benefit of this system is that matching symbols do not need to be aligned in any particular format; they can be placed in any row position as long as the sequence begins on the leftmost reel and proceeds across a minimum of three conjoining reels. It also creates more ways to win than a traditional line system, making up for the relatively low symbol values in the paytable.

Batter Symbol & Power Up Reel

Battery symbols can land in any grid position. They are then added to the Power Up meter displayed above the main reels, and once a minimum of three are collected, the Power Up reel will be activated, and the battery count will reset. In the base game, when the Power Up reel is activated, it will spin and reveal either a move icon, which moves an arrow around the Uplink Trail in the specified direction for the displayed number of moves, or a collect icon, which will collect the current prize on the Uplink trail.

Uplink Trail

The Uplink Trail borders the entire main reel set. Once the battery meter has been fully charged and the Power Reel has spun, the player will be moved to the relevant position on the Uplink trail. The prizes that can be won during the base game consist of cash amounts, the free spins bonus, or the Super Spinner game.

Super Spinner Game

The Super Spinner game is triggered by landing on one of the four Super Spinner squares on the Uplink Trail. Once activated, the player will be awarded a cash prize of either 40x, 60x, 100x, or 200x the current stake value, or 5, 10, 15, or 25 Nitro Spins.

Nitro Spins

Activating the Nitro Spins feature will raise the spin cost by 50% of the base bet value and, in return, will award an increased drop rate of battery symbols and higher numbers of coin collections and Super Spinner activations.

Cyber Vault Slot Bonus Features

The free spins feature is triggered by landing on the relevant position on the Uplink Trail. During this feature, all standard paytable symbols are removed, leaving only cash value and battery symbols.

Free Spins Feature

The feature will begin with four spins, referred to as ‘hacks’. Collecting three battery symbols will activate the Power Up reel and reset the spins to four. The bonus will continue until there are four consecutive spins without any further Power Reel activations. The Uplink Trail contains several additional power-ups during the bonus, which are as follows:

  • Prize: Adds the displayed prize to the grid.
  • upgrader: All prizes on the grid are upgraded by +1.
  • Power upgrader: All prizes are upgraded by the displayed value on every subsequent spin.
  • Multiplier: A random prize on the grid is multiplied by x2.
  • Power Multiplier: A random prize on the grid is multiplied by the displayed value on every subsequent spin. The multiplier value is also increased with each further collect.
  • Replicator: Picks a random prize and clones it to an empty grid position.
  • Top Replicator: Picks the highest prize value present and clones it to an empty grid position.
  • Battery Overcharge: Three spins are awarded, and the Power Reel will spin on each one. Any batteries collected during these spins are saved to be used after the completion of these three spins.
  • Extra Hack: Increases the hack bank to five and awards 25x.
  • Power Battery: Adds a persistent battery to the Power Up meter and awards 25x

If you want to access the free spins instantly, you can do so through our bonus buy demo option at the cost of 84x the current bet.

Pros

  • Interesting theme and great visuals.
  • Base game is very engaging.
  • Lots of additional features have been added to the bonus game.

Cons

  • The bonus game seems to last for an eternity, often for little payout.

Cyber Vault Slot Review Final Thoughts

Four Leaf Gaming is a relatively new developer, having only come onto the scene in 2021, so I’ve not played many of their releases before, but I think I will do now, as I’m really impressed with this game. The theme is interesting and something a bit different, and it's been presented really well with some great graphics. Both the base game and the bonus round are enjoyable to play, and I particularly like the variety of features added to the Uplink Trail during the bonus. The only thing that frustrated me slightly was how long most of the bonuses took to play out, often for low returns. You might say that the bonus is the best bit, so just enjoy it, and I'd agree to some extent, but there is a limit!
