When I first saw the name Danger High Voltage Megapays, my eyes read it as “Megaways” rather than Megapays – I was super excited to find out how Danger! High Voltage could have been morphed into a Megaways slot. Alas, that was not to be – Big Time Gaming (BTG) has come up with the similarly named “Megapays” moniker for what I expected will be a second line of countless slot machines in the near future. I guess time will tell! The RTP of the game is quoted as being 96.18% to 96.39%; there are 4,096 pay ways, and as for the maximum jackpot? I don’t have a reliable source for the base game jackpot, but I can tell you that the MEGA jackpot seeds at €300,000!
Mega jackpot, you say? Yes, this is a progressive jackpot online slot, which is what the “Megapays” subtitle refers to. There are four jackpots, MINI, MIDI, MAJOR, and MEGA, which we will discuss in detail later, but it should be noted that a huge 9.44% of your RTP is tied up in these jackpots. This means you are effectively playing an 87% RTP game unless you hit some jackpots… so I would say be careful how much you are betting here if you want your bankroll to last. Danger High Voltage Megapays Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
Ever heard of the band Electric Six? Nope, me either. I bet they had a massive boost due to their best song being licensed in Danger! High Voltage! The track is also called Danger! High Voltage if you fancy a listen, but it is very similar to what you’ll hear whilst playing the slot… so I guess there might not be much point! It’s not my kind of music at all, but for whatever reason, I like it! I almost always switch off most slots that feature a backing track with vocal music within a couple of minutes, but I can listen to this one for the entirety of a two-hour slotting session. That must be a good thing, right!
The paytable has not changed from the original Danger! High Voltage suggests that the RTP contribution for the progressive jackpots is enough to cover the additional cost of running those enormous jackpots. The skull symbol returns 25x your bet for six of a kind – doesn’t sound like much, but with all those stacked wilds which randomly appear on the reels – often with a 6x multiplier – just one skull per reel in the right places can result in a payoff of hundreds of times your stake… even in the base game! I love a game where big wins are possible everywhere, not just in the features, so Danger! High Voltage has always been one of my favourite games. I’m trying not to be biased about this version of the game, but it plays pretty much the same, so it deserves all of the same praise! After the skull, we have the bell, paying 5x your stake for five-of-a-kind, followed by the disco ball and taco with 1.5x your stake for all five. That completes the high-paying symbols – it might not sound like many, but trust me, it’s more than enough!
You can choose to bet from a minimum of €0.20 per spin up to €25.00 per spin. I can imagine the odd high roller being disappointed by the maximum. Still, this is a super high-variance slot – any higher than that would pose a serious risk to any online casino offering this game. I’ve seen some genuinely ludicrous wins from the regular version of this game, and as the base game works identically here, the casinos must be careful about how much they let people bet!
Base Game & Modifiers
If you aren’t familiar with the original Danger! Here’s a quick rundown of how things work. You have a 6×4 reel area and just 4,096 pay ways meaning that any matching symbols on adjacent reels will count towards a win. Three or more matching symbols from left to right will count towards a win, and that’s all there is to it.
That is except for one of the most important aspects of Danger! High Voltage Megapays! Sometimes you will receive a full stacked wild on a reel instead of four regular symbols. If you are fortunate, the wild will also have a 6x multiplier attached to it! These tall symbols only count as a single symbol, but if you catch more than one of them on a single spin, the multipliers will be multiplied together, so any combinations that feature two stacked 6x wilds will be multiplied by 36. So, what else have we got?
Megapays Feature
This feature can activate randomly after any paid spin. The odds of the Megapays feature triggering increase depending on how much you are spinning. Therefore, players betting €1.00 per spin are five times more likely to see the Megapays feature than those playing at €0.20 per spin.
Danger High Voltage Megapays Slot Free Spins Feature
The scatter symbols are represented by a heart with a crown on it and the words “My Desire” written across the symbol in a tattoo style. You’ll need to hit three of these to trigger the bonus round, and you’ll receive either 15 or 7 free spins, depending on which option you pick. The two options are as follows.
High Voltage Free Spins
The first bonus round gives you fifteen free spins. At first glance, this mode appears a little different to the regular game… until you hit one of those “6x” multiplier stacks where you will notice it has now transformed into a multiplier ladder starting at 11x and going all the way up to 66x. Can you imagine how big your winnings might be with a couple of these and a bunch of skull symbols? If not, I’ll tell you – they will be MASSIVE!
Gates Of Hell Free Spins
So, the High Voltage free spins are a winner; surely the Gates of Hell spins have to be the B-tier bonus round, right? Right? Don’t be ridiculous! At the start of the Gates of Hell free spins, a huge single reel will begin to spin to determine which symbol will transform into a wild during this bonus.
Each time the chosen symbol lands on reels two through five, it will transform into a sticky wild symbol which will remain in place for the remainder of the bonus round. Suppose you should be lucky enough to complete a full stack of four wild symbols on any reel. In that case, the game will award you three additional free spins, meaning your initial seven spins can eventually reach a maximum of 19 if you can fill all sixteen squares with wilds.
This bonus round has the highest potential if the videos posted on YouTube are anything to go by – the highest I have seen is well over 10,000x your stake.

Danger High Voltage has long been one of my favourite slots, and the addition of four progressive jackpots makes the game even better… something which I didn’t even think was possible! As such, there is only one mark I can give, and I don’t think you will have any doubt as to whether I recommend this title!
