Deal Or No Deal The Big Hit Megaways (Blueprint) Slot Demo & Review

Gameshows are the perfect fit for an online slot theme; after all, if you like watching it on the TV, surely you’ll love playing aspects of it through a slot game, too, right? This formula seems to have worked for Blueprint Gaming anyway, as they add yet another title to their DOND collection of games, this time named Dead or no Deal The Big Hit Megaways slot. As for its vitals, we have a 6-reel game with up to 117,649 paylines, an RTP of 92.50%, and a maximum win of 50,000x bet.

There are plenty of features to get stuck into, starting with the tumbling reels, present throughout the base game and bonus round, with mystery symbols also appearing in both parts of the gameplay. The biggest talking point, however, is the Bonus Trail, which displays different rewards won by landing consecutive reel cascades. If you hit 4 in a row, the bonus round will be awarded, where you’ll get to play Deal or no Deal for a chance to trigger the free spins. Once you make it through to the final part of the game, the multiplier trail comes into play, displaying different values on each spin that will be applied to any winning combos.

With so many variations of DOND already being available to play, do you think you have perfected your strategy to finally beat the banker? Before you risk any real cash trying to find out, why not practice some free spins on our Deal or no Deal The Big Hit Megaways slot demo, ready to play below.

Deal Or No Deal Megaways Paytable
Deal or no Deal Megaways paytable

After a quick search through our slot game catalogue, I don’t think it’s an over-exaggeration to say that Blueprint Gaming has got as much value out of their DOND license as possible. It does seem an age ago though, that they first released the original Deal or no Deal Megaways slot, but there are at least 7 titles now in the series, which is quite some going. I’m pleased to report that in the case of Deal or no Deal The Big Hit Megaways, we do have some new features, mainly the Bonus Trail, but eagle-eyed players will quickly recognise that this looks an awful lot like Big Time Gaming’s Mega Trail first used in their Millionaire Rush Megaclusters slot, and later in Vegas Rush Megaclusters. Okay, now we’ve got the intros out the way; it’s time to see what this game can pay.

Positioned at the summit of the paytable, we have the DOND Box valued at 50x bet for a winning combo of six. Then there’s a considerable drop in value as we move down to the Envelope, which pays 5x for a full line, with the Bankers Seal and Mug completing the premium section and sharing payouts of 2x bet for a winning line of six. We’ve got a total of six royal symbols representing the low pays, with the Ace, King and Queen all worth 1x, and finally, the Jack, Ten and Nine awarding equal payouts of 0.8x for six of a kind win. The game also includes a wild symbol that can only appear on the upper tracker, substituting for all other regular symbols.

Whilst Blueprint’s DOND The Big Hit Megaways may not have dozens of bet sizes to choose from, the small selection on offer surprisingly covers enough of a range for players to find something comparable to their bankroll. The minimum price to spin begins at €0.10, with the game finally maxing out at €10 a press.

Deal Or No Deal The Big Hit Megaways Slot Base Game

We’ve got an original Megawas format in play on DOND The Big Hit Megaways with slot operating on a 6×7 reel matrix. Players will score themselves a win when three or more (two for the DOND Box) land on consecutive reels beginning from the leftmost reel first. All winning combos trigger the tumbling reels mechanic, eliminating winning symbols from the playfield before dropping in new symbols for extra chances to win.

Mystery Symbols

The mystery symbols can land on any spin in the base game and bonus round. When the reels come to a halt and the mystery symbols are in view, all instances will transform into the same randomly selected symbol from the paytable.

Bonus Trail

The Bonus Trail is active to the side of the reels, and on each spin, the modifiers and features will move to different positions, except the Deal or no Deal bonus, which always remains in the 4th spot. Each time you hit a winning reel tumble, you’ll move one position up the trail. If a losing cascade occurs, the trail will return to its default position. The possible trail rewards are:

  • Multiplier: Multiplies the win from the next reaction.
  • Deal or no Deal: Trigger the Deal or no Deal bonus.
  • Eliminate: Eliminates the lowest 5 outcomes from the DOND bonus.
  • Boost: upgrades all the red outcomes within the DOND bonus.
  • Red Alert: Eliminates all blue and upgrades all red outcomes in the DOND feature.
  • Cash: Awards the cash value shown.

Deal Or No Deal The Big Hit Megaways Slot Bonus Features

Deal Or No Deal The Big Hit Megaways Free Spins Feature

Once players have triggered the DOND bonus (potentially with modifiers), the classic game you’ve seen on the TV a million times will play out. Between each selection of boxes, the banker will call with an offer, which you can choose to collect or risk it all and try to win one of the free spin boxes so you can play that part of the game.

Free Spins Feature

A new Multiplier Trail comes into play while the free spins are active. This will show different values on each spin, and every win you land will have the bottom value of the trail applied to it before it climbs to the next position. If you hit another win from the reel cascade, the multiplier will rise again. Players can also win extra spins if 3 or 4 scatters appear on the upper tracker, with 3 awarding 5 extra spins, whilst 4 will add 10.

Jackpot King

Deal or no Deal The Big Hit is part of Blueprint Gaming’s Jackpot King Network. So, on any spin, the progressive feature can be randomly triggered, and if luck is on your side, you might just hit it big and land one of the progressive pots.

Pros

  • The Trail Bonus provides some added entertainment to the DOND slot franchise.

Cons

  • Very low RTP due to it being on the Jackpot King Network.
  • There are many stages before you reach the free spins.

Deal Or No Deal The Big Hit Megaways Slot Review Final Thoughts

Blueprint may have taken some inspiration from Big Time Gaming and their Mega Trial mechanic, but it adds a new and interesting dynamic to their DOND collection of slots. However, one of the major pitfalls of this slot game is the many stages you'll need to get through before even seeing a free spin round. Yes, you might hit four reel tumbles and trigger the DOND bonus, but it can be a tall order to get to the end and have the free spin boxes still in play, so just keep that in mind if you decide to spin this one with real money.
