Diamond Mine 2 Megaways Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
I’m certain that I have written up at least a handful of the Diamond Mine slot machines from Blueprint Gaming, so I was slightly confused when I browsed our review library, only to find that the top three were reviewed by another writer. The games in question are Diamond Mine Megaways, Diamond Mine Extra Gold Megaways, and Diamond Mine All Action Megaways, all of which look uncannily similar to this latest release. It seems that Blueprint has re-used as many assets as possible when creating all of these machines – I guess familiarity was a feature rather than a bug on this occasion! What’s more striking is that all of them are Megaways slots with similar feature sets and very little to differentiate them in terms of their paytables. That’s not necessarily a bad thing though – these are excellent slots, but it does feel a little bit lazy on the developers’ part. Time for a revamp, perhaps?
Speaking of the paytable, the huge white diamond is the highest-paying regular symbol, offering a maximum payout of 50x the total bet for a full payway of six of a kind. That’s very much an outlier though – there are just three more medium pays represented by the miner himself, a lantern, and his tools, with returns pegged at 5x, 2.5x, and 2x, respectively. That’s just one high-paying symbol, three medium-pays, and I’m sorry to tell you – no less than six low-paying royals! Six aces, kings, or queens will get you 1.5x your bet back in winnings, whilst the jacks, tens, and nines are a little less valuable at 1x each. It’s clear that this isn’t the type of slot where a single-line hit is going to make your day.
Blueprint has been reducing the maximum betting limits on their games for a while now, which many suspect could be a pre-emptive move to save them from updating their vast library of products when stricter regulations on bet sizes inevitably come into force in the next year or two. Anyhow, as for now, in the demo, at least, Diamond Mine 2 Megaways has minimum/maximum limits of €0.10 and €10, respectively.
Base Game & Modifiers
So just what can you expect from this machine to differentiate it from all of the other Megaways games that developers publish on an almost daily basis nowadays? That’s a good question, to be honest – the six-reel layout is ubiquitous in the Megaways genre, as is the horizontal ‘tracker’ reel positioned along the top of the screen. So I think it’s pretty much fair to say that you’ll need to hit the free spins before you really notice anything at all.
Mystery Symbol
The TNT barrel is a mystery symbol – at the end of each round, all visible barrels will transform to reveal the same randomly selected symbol from the paytable.

Blueprint are masters of producing well-presented online slots, but this one is definitely more ‘filler’ than ‘thriller’… it may well thrill you for one night only, but when the midnight hour is close at hand, you’ll probably find this game languishing inside a corpse’s shell.
