Dino P.d Slot (Push Gaming) Slot Demo & Review

It wasn’t so long ago that Push Gaming introduced us to their unique dino-themed slot named Dinopolis, and now we’re being treated to a fun-looking sequel titled Dino P.D. So what’s been going on in this unique city since our last visit you have to wonder? Did it go full Jurassic park on us, and need a badass police department to step in and bring some law and order? I guess we’re about to find out, but let’s start with the stats first. This is a 20 payline slot that comes with an above-average RTP of 96.38% and a maximum win of 10,000x bet.

In case you’d forgotten from the first instalment of this franchise, our dino friends deal purely in their own currency, which is, obviously, Dino Coins; what else. These are a major part of the game, and landing five or more in view will cause all their values to be added together and multiplied by your stake. Enhanced winnings from these coins can be banked during the free spins feature, where four levels of multipliers can be applied to them. Reach the max level, and all coin wins will be multiplied by x10. In addition, the game includes four bonus buy options for those impatient for an organic feature trigger, with the premium buy on offer at 450x the current bet level.

Well, I’m certainly intrigued to see what’s new, and if you are too, you can check out what the game is all about in our free demo slot of Dino P.D. It’s available for you to try below.

Dino P.d Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols

Dino P.d Slot Paytable
Dino P.D slot paytable

You could say that dinosaurs are a theme that hasn’t been overly used in iGaming. There was obviously the impressive Jurassic Park slot from Microgaming, and granted, this did get milked a little with a series of spin-offs. Still, other than the odd offering, such as PG Soft’s Jurassic Party, the dinos have remained relatively unscathed so far. Perhaps the lack of decent slots in this genre was what inspired Push Gaming to create Dinopolis, which we rated nine out of ten here at demoslot, so if you’re yet to try that out, I’d suggest giving it a few spins. It actually proved to be a massive hit for Push, so I can’t say that I was overly surprised at seeing them add a sequel to it.

The paytable of Dino P.D is divided into three sections. Firstly we have three dinosaurs for the high-paying symbols, with the Triceratops paying 50x for a five of a kind win, a Stegosaurus worth 40x bet, and the pterodactyl paying 30x. Next is the medium pays, with the megaphone awarding 10x for all five on an active payline, a gas canister paying 10x, and the radio, along with the handcuffs, both valued at 7.5x for a completed payline. Last but not least, we have a cop’s favourite treat for the lower pays, which, as we all know, is donuts. These come in four different colours and will all pay you 3x for a five of a kind win. One Final symbol to mention here is the wild, which is the most valuable symbol in the game and pays 250x if you manage to hit a full line of five.

Push Gaming always seems to get the staking options just about right on their slots. They don’t go overboard with a massive selection, but there’s always a bet to play at that’s relative to your bankroll, from my experience at least. So, you can get into the thick of it on Dino P.D from a minimum of €0.10 a spin, with around ten options then available before you reach the max stake of €100.

Base Game & Modifiers

Dino P.d Slot Base Game
Dino P.D slot base game

The gameplay on Dino P.D. takes place over a 5×4 reel set with a total of 20 fixed paylines. I always find these setups to be a little frustrating at times, as what you think might be a winning combo actually turns out to be a miss and a dead spin. As for getting some of that lovely dino dosh, you will need to land at least three symbols on adjacent reels from left to right and on an active payline. However, there is one slight upside, and that is the higher-paying symbols only require you to land two for a win to be paid.

Dino Coins

Whether it be the base game or the free spins feature, the Dino Coins are the key to unlocking the big wins in this game. They come in values of 1x, 2x, 5x, 10x, 25x, 50x, 100x, 250x, 500x, and 1,000x. If at least five of these coins appear in view, their totals will be added together and multiplied by the size of your stake.

Ante Bet

For an increased chance of triggering the free spins bonus on the game, you can choose to activate the Ante Bet option. Playing with this feature active will add an extra 20% to your current bet size.

Dino P.d Slot Bonus Features

Dino P.d Slot Free Spins Feature

Scatter symbols on Dino P.D only appear on reels 1 and 3, whilst the special gamble scatter symbol can only land on reel 5. You’ll need all three to hit, and the gamble symbol to then reveal either the bronze, silver or gold free spins for the bonus to begin. Before the spins get underway, you will be offered the chance to risk your current spin prize for more. This works in the same way as Push Gaming’s Big Bamboo slot. So if you’ve played that before, you’ll know how incredibly volatile this gamble is. Err on the side of caution, would be my advice.

Free Spins

Now for the fun part and where the big dino bucks can be won. As the feature begins, you will see a donut meter to the right-hand side of the reels with the values x2, x3, x5 and x10. Depending on which of the levels you triggered the bonus with will determine where you begin on this meter. But don’t worry; you are given a chance to get to that coveted top position. How? Through the Dino Coin Collector symbols, which may appear randomly on any spin. You will instantly notice these as they have coloured lights running around them, and each one that hits will mark off one light on your current donut. Furthermore, along with each donut you fill increasing your meter multiplier, additional spins will be added, as you can see below.

  • Fill the 1st donut: Receive a 2x multiplier on all coin wins and 4 extra spins.
  • Fill the 2nd donut: Receive a 3x multiplier on all coin wins and 3 extra spins.
  • Fill the 3rd donut: Receive a 5x multiplier on all coin wins and 3 extra spins.
  • Fill the 4th donut: Receive a 10 multiplier on all coin wins and 2 extra spins.

Bonus Buy

Players who can access the bonus buy menu have the following four possibilities to choose from.

  • 70x bet: Bronze level access with between 8 – 10 free spins.
  • 140x bet: Silver level access with between 8 – 10 free spins.
  • 450x bet: Gold level access with between 8 – 10 free spins.
  • 100x bet: A random level will be awarded with between 8 – 10 free spins.

* All wins except the gold level access may be gambled.

Dino P.d Slot Review Final Thoughts

I was a big fan of Dinopolis and enjoyed its theme and gameplay, so I was eager to see what Dino P.D. brought to the table. After a few spins and activating the feature, it was clear that Push Gaming wanted to incorporate Big Bamboo’s success into this game, and it has worked quite well overall.

Whether you decide you’d rather play this kind of watered-down version of Big Bamboo will always be down to personal preference, but it is a decent alternative, and you get the feeling that this game is more than capable of throwing out plenty of those 10,000x max wins.
