Dinopolis Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
Many people reading this will surely remember the dinosaur mania of the 1990s, a period that was kickstarted by Steven Spielberg’s epic movie Jurassic Park. If that’s a little before your time, you’ll undoubtedly remember the many sequels released during the decades since – however, many of them sucked. Militarised raptors? Please! Of course, wherever there are successful movies, there are also successful video games, and that means online slots, too. Some of my favourite dinosaur-themed machines include PG Soft’s Jurassic Kingdom and, to a lesser extent, Thunderkick’s REX: The Hunt. The interesting thing about this machine is that it seems to be based on the American family sitcom ‘Dinosaurs’, which was shown on the ABC network in 1991. I wonder if Push Gaming tried to get an official license before developing this game.
The paytable is divided into several sections, with the most valuable symbols featuring depictions of the two parent characters from the aforementioned US sitcom. The male dinosaur is the most valuable of the pair, paying 10x the total bet whenever all five symbols appear on a payway, whilst the female character has a slightly lower return of 7.5x for a five-of-a-kind combination. There are four more high-paying symbols; a tuxedo-wearing dinosaur paying 4x for a complete payway, a female at 3x, and two youngsters sharing a payout of 1x for all five symbols. There are no dull royal symbols included in this paytable either, as the low-paying symbols feature banknotes, playing cards, dice, and casino chips, all of which share the same payout of 0.5x for a five of a kind winning combination.

That might not sound like too many options between such a large bet range, but I’m confident most players will find a stake to play at comparable to their bankroll.
Base Game & Modifiers
The Dinopolis base game uses an unusual playfield setup with three rows on reels one and five, plus four rows on reels two through four. This equates to a total of 18 unique symbol positions, along with 576 possible payways from left to right. In addition, all symbols require a minimum of three matches on adjacent reels to award a win.
Wild Symbols
The wild symbols of Dinopolis come with a bonus multiplier of either 2x or 3x attached to them. The paytable describes this as increasing the number of payways for the reel it lands on, equal to the symbol multiplier.
Dino Coins
Dino coin symbols can appear in bronze, silver, or gold varieties and appear on reels one and five only. The value shown on these dino coins can only be collected by forming a three-of-a-kind (or better) combination, which can only be achieved by hitting them simultaneously as two or more wild symbols on reels two, three, and four.
When a dino coin win is awarded, the value shown on it will be multiplied first by your current bet amount and then by the total value of all multipliers shown on the included wild symbols.
Dinopolis Slot Bonus Features
Scatter symbols appear on reels two, three, and four only, and you will need to hit all three of these simultaneously to win yourself a set of free spins.
Free Spins
At the start of the feature, a new screen with four playing cards is shown. You are permitted to choose two of these cards to select the enhancements that will be applied to the current feature:
- Sticky Stack Wild Symbol: Adds a stack of wilds with a 2x multiplier to either reel two, three, or four. The sticky stack wild symbol covers the entire reel, which is applied for the free spin feature.
