Dj Fox Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
Push Gaming is one of my favourite slot developers, mainly because they’re not happy repeatedly churning out the same stuff. This company wants to innovate rather than stick to its comfort zone. Some of my favourite Push Gaming slots include Space Stacks, Jammin Jars, and Retro Sweets. Obviously, with innovation comes the need to educate ourselves, as you will see when trying to understand the mechanics of DJ Fox.
The DJ Fox utilises a Win What You See mechanic across three positions on each reel. Spins can reveal dud symbols, which mean and pay nothing, or they can reveal the 00, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9 numbers. You win what you see divided by 10. For example, if the 9 lands in one position on an active reel, it pays 9 ÷ 10 = 0.9x your stake. However, if multiple numbers land on the same active reel, they chain together to create two or more digit payouts potentially. For example, a 4-5-Dud pays 45÷ 10 = 4.5x the stake and a 4-5-5 pays 455 ÷ 10 = 45.5x. When duds occur, they act as blockers in a sequence, so a 4-Dud-5 would break the sequence. The sums are accumulated and paid in that case, so 4+5 = 9 ÷ 10 = 0.9x.
As mentioned, the mechanic is initially confusing, but after a few spins, you start getting it. As for the cost of those spins, this depends on you. You can wager from a minimum of €0.10 up to a maximum of €100.00 per spin.

As standard, you play with one reel unlocked, although you can use the Push-Up Option to spin with more reels active – more on that later. As you spin, it is possible to unlock additional rows and earn multipliers via Row Activation and Multiplier Meter.
Row Activation
The Row Activation feature begins whenever a VIP symbol lands on an active reel. The row above is unlocked, and all number symbols are locked in place for a re-spin of all Dud positions. Any new VIP symbols cause the unlocking of another row and an additional re-spin. This feature continues until no new VIP symbols land. At the end, you receive the payouts earned across all active unlocked reels.
Multiplier Meter
To the left of the reels is a multiplier meter that collects the VIP symbols as they land. As these symbols are collected, it is possible to unlock multipliers of up to 20x. You need to collect 3 VIP symbols to unlock a 2x multiplier. Each subsequent VIP symbol will unlock the 4x, 6x, 8x, 10x, and 20x multipliers. At the end of a spin, the highest unlocked multiplier is applied to all wins received.
Multiplier Lock
Triggered randomly, the Multiplier Lock feature does what it says on the tin. It will lock the progress of the Multiplier Meter and any unlocked reels for another spin.

Sure, we might have seen this particular engine previously in the Generous Jack slot, but it's still only its second outing in DJ Fox and well worth some playing time.
