Dog Town Deal Slot (Quickspin) Slot Demo & Review

Have you ever seen that painting of the dogs playing snooker? I suspect somebody over at QuickSpin might have done, as Dog Town Deal sure does have a similar look to it! These smartly dressed canines aren’t shooting stick today; they’ve hit the casino to play some blackjack instead. The game features 20 paylines, a 96.15% RTP, and a maximum win (achieved during simulation) of 1,213x the total bet.

You’ll want to keep a careful eye out for the playing card scatter symbols, as two or more will trigger one of the game’s features. The first of these is named ‘The Deal’ and sees the cards are turned over to reveal their values before the sum is added to your balance as a multiple of the total bet. The playing cards will also trigger the game’s main free spin bonus round, where you’ll be trying to build a blackjack hand to step up the multiplier ladder. Make it to the top, and you’ll be able to collect a jackpot prize of 1,000x the total bet. In addition, a bonus buy facility is available, allowing you to skip the base game and go directly to the free spins at the cost of 50x the normal price per spin.

Blackjack is the most popular table game in the world’s casinos, so it seems like a great choice to use as the background for a new online slot. You can check out our free demo slot of Dog Town Deal below.

Dog Town Deal Slot Paytable
Dog Town Deal slot paytable

In the past, I’ve played quite a few online slots heavily based around playing cards, but I don’t recall any that used blackjack specifically as their theme. This is surprising, given the game’s status as the most popular casino table game, but it could be related to the difficulty of combining elements of both games. QuickSpin has done an excellent job in this regard, and I was particularly impressed to see that the bonus round even includes a bonus for hitting a ‘five card charlie’ – it’s rare to find a casino that pays this special bonus nowadays!

There’s just one high-paying symbol at the top of the paytable – the smartly dressed dog who made an appearance on the game’s title screen. He’ll pay you 60x the total bet for a full payline of five of a kind, significantly more than the rest of the symbols. Next, there are three more dog symbols with yellow, green, and blue backgrounds, and all of these share identical payouts of 15x for all five symbols. Finally, four more low-paying symbols are represented by different coloured casino chips, all of which return 5x the total bet for a complete pay line. While wrapping up this review, I checked the paytable for something else and noticed that the wild symbol is displayed in a completely different place. I’m glad I caught it in the end, as it’s even more valuable than the top dog with a payout of 120x the total bet for a five of a kind combination.

You can choose to bet from as little as €0.20 per spin, whilst the maximum wager has been limited to €100.00. Plenty of other options are available towards the lower end of the range, but the jumps between bets become larger once you get past €10.00 per spin.

Base Game & Modifiers

Dog Town Deal Slot Base Game
Dog Town Deal slot base game

The base game of Top Dog Deal uses the familiar five reel, three row layout that you’ll find in countless other online slots. Twenty paylines seem like a reasonable number for a playfield of this size; you won’t win as often as you would in a 243-way slot, but the prizes you collect are sure to be a little larger. You’ll need at least three matching symbols starting from the leftmost reel to score yourself a win.

The Deal

This consolation-style feature is triggered every time two playing card scatters land during the base game. When this occurs, the cards will be flipped over to reveal their values. If the total of the hand is above 16, you will be paid the total as a multiple of your current bet.

Dog Town Deal Slot Bonus Features

Dog Town Deal Slot Free Spins Feature

The playing card scatter symbol appears on all five reels, and you’ll need to hit at least three of them on a single spin to trigger the Top Dog Free Spins. The number of triggering scatter symbols determines the number of spins awarded – three will get you seven free spins, whilst four or five will increase this to 10 or 15 free spins, respectively.

Top Dog Free Spins

Although ‘The Deal’ feature described in the previous section is not available in this mode, it does contain a couple of different features instead. At the start of each set of free spins, you will be awarded between one and three cards depending on the number of triggering scatter symbols. These cards are the start of your blackjack hand, and the better your hand becomes, the larger the multiplier that will be applied to your total bonus round win.

For each regular line hit that occurs on a free spin, one, two, or three cards will be awarded depending on the number of symbols included in the win. Your hand will be assessed after each card is added – if you go over 21, the hand is a bust and will be discarded. If you hit a Blackjack or a Five Card Charlie, you will take one step up the multiplier ladder instead. The biggest win available on the ladder is 1,000x the total bet.

Bonus Buy

You can choose to skip the base game of Top Dog Deal and just play the free spins at the cost of 50x the normal price per spin. That’s a very low price for a bonus buy facility, but it does make sense based on the fact that this is a low to medium variance slot.

Dog Town Deal Slot Review Final Thoughts

I’m not usually a big fan of low-volatility games, but the top win of 1,213x available here is just about enough to get me interested. Even if that isn’t enough for you, this could be a perfect game for tackling a wagering requirement when playing with a bonus.
