The game very much has an Asian theme and the backdrop is awash with beautiful visuals from the orient that are instantly recognisable. Lower paying symbols on the slot are represented by the card royals 10 through to the Ace, with pays ranging from as low as 0.1x, up to 2x when wins are formed. For those unaware of how the cascading reel mechanic works, you will notice through your gameplay that when you hit a winning combination the symbols that were involved in making up that win will be removed from the reels, new symbols will then drop down to fill the spaces that have been left. These cascades will continue until no further winning combinations can be made, and then a new spin will need to be initiated.

An interesting modifier that can take place in both the base game and the bonus feature is the Dragon Match Wild enhancer. If you can get two symbols to match on the upper reel then they will both turn into wild symbols. The added extra to this modifier is that all of the symbols on the two reels below that match the symbol on the upper reel will also turn wild. As we discovered this can lead to some impressive wins, especially if you have a reasonably high amount of Megaways™ active at the time.

We love to see something new when it comes to the Megaways™ Slots, and iSoftBet have certainly brought us that with a slot that features so few Megaways™ compared to other games within the niche. In our opinion opting for this format has paid off for iSoftBet, and whilst Dragon Match Megaways™ does retain some of the classic features we now tend to associate with Megaways™ titles like an unlimited multiplier and cascading reels, it brings enough originality to the table to make it a slot that stands out in a competitive market.
One of the most interesting points about this slot was seeing how the cascading reels mechanic performed over so few reels and paylines. We found that it delivered far more winning consecutive cascades then what we had previously witnessed on other titles with a higher Megaways™ format, and some of these sequences of cascades were particularly lucrative.
In conclusion we think if Dragon Match Megaways™ proves to be a hit with players, we could see more developers choosing a lower Megaways™ format to mix up their offerings a little. Hats off to iSoftBet though for being the first to try something new, and keeping the market fresh.
