Dream Drop Diamonds Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
Fast cars, speedboats, and private jets… what a lifestyle it would be to own all of those things! Seeing them spin by on the reels isn’t quite the same, but it sure does make you dream about what it would be like… perhaps that is where the name Dream Drop Diamonds comes from? The symbols do look kind of small, though, especially when playing this game on a big screen. I rarely feel disappointed by the presentation of a Relax slot, but this one doesn’t quite meet my expectations for this prestigious developer. The games in their current collection of Dream Drop Slots look better than this – but I guess that is just my opinion; you could well think differently.
The paytable is a little disappointing, too; the speedboat is the highest paying symbol yet only pays 1.5x the current bet for each completed pay way of five of a kind. The private jet is much worse – just 0.8x for all five, whilst the flash car pays 0.7x, and the jetski is only worth 0.6x for five-of-a-kind. Of course, there are 3,125 payways, and these symbols are stacked on the reels, but the numbers still feel incredibly disappointing to me. I guess a lot of RTP must have been allocated to the diamond prizes, which max out at 1,000x your bet in the base game.
The betting range begins at €0.20 per round and maxes out at €100.00, but as this is a progressive jackpot spin, it may be worth betting a little more than you usually would as bigger bets increase your chances of hitting a progressive jackpot.
Base Game & Modifiers
The regular game takes place on a 5×5 playfield, which is where the 3,125 pay ways come from. Most wins are awarded for landing matching symbols on adjacent reels, but the diamond prizes are awarded regardless of where the diamonds appear on the screen.
Diamond Collection Feature
The diamond collection feature awards cash prizes as a multiple of your stake, as indicated by the meter on the left of the main reel set. During the base game, all diamonds must land on a single spin, whilst in the free spin bonus round; your diamonds are saved in between spins, making it much easier to reach the bigger prizes on the meter.
Jackpot Spin
At the start of any base game spin, the text “Jackpot Spin” may appear on top of the reel set. If you land a “DD” symbol on all five reels, you will trigger the Jackpot bonus game. Sadly, this is not guaranteed, and I only managed to catch four out of five DD symbols whilst I was testing the game.
Dream Drop Diamonds Slot Bonus Features
If you hit three bonus symbols together you will win nine free spins, with one extra free spin awarded for each additional bonus symbol that hits on top of the minimum .
During the free spins feature, the diamond symbols work differently from the main game. Each diamond scatter that lands on the reels will increase the value of the diamond prizes on the meter and add one more free spin to your remaining counter. Any diamonds that land on the triggering spin will also be added to the meter in your bonus round.
At the end of the free spins feature, you will be paid a bonus prize based on the number of diamonds you have collected through all of your free spins.
Dream Drop Bonus
This feature is triggered by the jackpot spin in the base game, but sadly I never got to see it with my own eyes whilst I was testing the game. This could be because I was playing in demo mode, as most progressive jackpot games do not allow you to enter the jackpot part of the game unless you are playing for real money.
If you do make it here, you will need to fill rows with DD symbols to win jackpots – there are five levels named RAPID, MIDI, MAXI, MAJOR, and MEGA. The rapid jackpot is usually only worth around 5x your bet, whilst the Midi jackpot is also not very exciting at roughly 25x the bet. The Maxi jackpot is slightly better at around 500x the stake, but the Major and Mega jackpots are truly exciting at several thousand or several million each.
Dream Drop Diamonds Slot Review Final Thoughts
Dream Drop Diamonds is a reasonable attempt at a progressive jackpot game, but the presentation looks a little bit rushed to me; however, this is just my opinion. The MEGA jackpot must hit before it reaches ten million Euros, so if you see this game with a jackpot of over nine million Euros, I’d be tempted to give it a few spins each time you play!
