Dungeon-themed slots aren’t as popular as you might expect; I was a massive fan of games such as Dungeon Keeper when I was younger, so this type of theme really appeals to me. The graphics on display here, though, are worlds apart from those offered by those old Amiga games! There are one or two decent dungeon and dragon style slots, such as 3 Pot Dragons from Tada Gaming and Dragons Clusterbuster by Red Tiger Gaming, but I would love to see more games with this vibe. The base game of Dungeon Tower has a unique feel to it each time you hit the spin button, all of the symbols on the grid will sink down into their position before new symbols rise up in their place. This is functionally no different to actual reel strips, but it sure looks cool! You will probably be confused about what is happening with the random wilds popping up everywhere as you spin this 5×5 playfield slot, so we’ll try and explain how it all works for you below.
Grid Pays
Any three matching symbols that appear on the grid in adjacent positions either horizontally or vertically will result in a win, but the value of that win will vary significantly from spin to spin. Why? It’s all down to the multipliers.
Reel Multipliers
Each reel has a multiplier associated with it, which will increase if a wild appears on the column below. Wilds can also be added randomly at the end of each spin – effectively a very simple modifier. The way these multipliers affect your winnings is quite complex and uses the following rules:
- Any vertical winning lines will be multiplied by the multiplier shown at the top of the reel where they appear.
- Horizontal winning lines are more valuable, as their value is determined by multiplying all of the multipliers together, which appear at the top of every reel involved in the winning combination.
- Any wilds which appear on that spin will update the current multipliers before your winnings are evaluated.
- The multipliers for each reel are reset between every paid spin, except during the bonus round, where these multipliers will persist for the duration of the feature.

Dungeon Tower Slot Bonus Features
The base game of Dungeon Tower is already quite exciting and has lots of potential for big wins, but the monster free spins feature is where the big money is at! You’ll need to land three or more scatter symbols to trigger the feature, with three scatters awarding the minimum of 7 free spins and four or five scatters awarding 9 or 11 spins, respectively.
Monster Free Spins
During this mode, the same rules apply as during the base game, with one important exception; the multipliers shown at the top of the reels will persist between spins!
This means that every wild that either lands or are randomly added to the grid during this mode is extremely valuable. It is possible to get a multiplier of 5x or more on every reel during this mode, and as the product of all multipliers is used to evaluate the amount of your win for any horizontal combinations, it is possible to get some huge winnings here.
For example, say you have multipliers of 3, 4, 5, 4, and 4 on each of the five reels, respectively, and then hit a five-of-a-kind combination horizontally. The value of this win will be multiplied by 3x4x5x4x4 – That’s a 960x multiplier! You don’t need to be a maths wizard to realise this will result in some mammoth wins. You just need to get lucky and hit all those wilds to make it happen. Good luck with that!
Golden Bet
For an additional 20% on top of the normal spin cost, you can double your odds of hitting the monster free spins bonus round. A 100% increase in your chances of hitting a bonus for just 20% more money seems like a sweet deal to me, so I would probably play with this option turned on. It’s unclear how this affects the usual 96.10% RTP, but I would guess your RTP should be slightly higher with this feature enabled.
Bonus Buy
There are three options in the bonus buy feature – you can purchase a regular bonus round at the cost of 53x the normal bet, which will award you between seven and 11 free spins depending on the number of scatters that land. There are also options to purchase 10 or 20 free spins at the cost of 100x or 200x, respectively. These don’t seem like bad prices, but the 53x option is a definite bargain in my eyes, and I would definitely be playing that if I was allowed to in my jurisdiction!
