Dwarfs Fortune™ Demo Slot (Wazdan) Slot Demo & Review

You may not have come across Wazdan’s online slots until now; the company was founded all the way back in 2010, but they did not manage to obtain a full license from a trustworthy authority until 2017. These licences are vital if a software company wants to get a game like Dwarfs Fortune™ onto the largest online casinos. The company has been racing to obtain as many other licenses as possible over the last four years, allowing them to publish their games in at least a dozen new jurisdictions. As for their Dwarfs Fortune™ video slot, this game uses an unusual “pay anywhere” payout mechanic with an RTP of 96.16% and a maximum win of 2,500x your stake.

The game includes a multitude of modifiers and bonus features, so there will never be a dull moment whilst playing this slot! There are sticky cash symbols which increase in value with every spin, a “hold the jackpot” free spin-based feature that is anything but your standard bonus round. Check out our Bonus Rounds & Features section below for more details.

Dwarfs Fortune™ Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols

Paytable For Dwarfs Fortune Slot

I’m not quite sure what to say about the theme of this one – “Dwarfs Fortune™” perhaps suggests that we are a dwarf looking for treasure, and the games official page on the Wazdan website appears to concur. The developer says “Buried deep underground in a mine coated with precious gemstones, infinite dwarven treasures are waiting to be discovered. [Get ready for] an exciting journey in search of untold riches”. I was surprised to find there are many other Dwarf-themed slots out there – Dwarf Mine by Yggdrasil, Dwarfs Gone Wild by Quickspin, and Dwarven Gems Megaways by 1×2 Gaming are just three of the many examples I discovered.

I had a quick look at all of the games I just mentioned, and none of them were anything like the unique game we have here from Wazdan. The top symbol is the blue gem, paying 4x stake when five or more land anywhere on the screen. Next is the green gem at 3x your bet, a purple gem at 2x, and a red gem at 1.5x. These numbers do seem unbelievably low, even when considering the “pays anywhere” payout mechanics. The secret sauce is a multiplier symbol that can only appear on the top special row above the regular reels, as this can boost the value of all these combinations by up to 7x. This gets us up to some reasonable value wins, but nothing truly ground-breaking… what could Wazdan be up to?

The bet amount is changed using a row of values shown at the bottom of the screen. This system looks very similar to Play’N’Go’s typical setup, with a minimum bet of €0.10 per spin and a maximum that varies depending on your jurisdiction. My testing seemed to indicate a cap of €100.00 per spin, but it is possible the figure will be different depending on the country you are playing from.

Base Game & Modifiers

Spin With 5 Reels, The Scatter Pays System, And Enjoy Wins Of Up To 2,500x Your Bet In Dwarfs Fortune Online Slot From Game Developer Wazdan

Taking a look at the base game, we have a standard 5×3 reel setup to begin with, however there is an additional row separated from the normal reels positioned above the 5×3 playfield. This is very similar to the way Megaways slots work, as there are specific special symbols that can only appear on the top row.

Wins are paid whenever you land a minimum of five matching symbols anywhere on the reels, including the top row. This is a very unusual setup that I have only seen used on a handful of games over the past decade or so.

Increasing Value Stick Cash Value Symbol

This symbol does not appear often, but when it does, it will act as a bonus symbol that is stuck to the reels for up to nine future spins. All bonus symbols have a value attached to them, and the value of this one will increase with each spin player until you either hit a bonus or the sticky counter displayed on the symbol reaches zero.

Dwarfs Fortune™ Slot Bonus Bonus Feature

Land A Minimum Of 6 Bonus Symbols During The Base Game To Trigger The Bonus Respin Feature On Dwarfs Fortune Video Slot

Several symbols count as bonus symbols on Dwarfs Fortune™ – there are the regular diamond bonus symbols, the sticky cash symbols mentioned in the base game, plus two other symbols labelled “Mystery” and “Dwarfs Mystery”.

You need at least six of these to trigger the “Hold the Jackpot” bonus, but you really want at least one of the mystery symbols to appear if you are going to get a really special bonus round. Check out the feature buy section below, where we explain the difference between a regular gem-triggered feature, and one that includes multiple mystery symbols.

Bonus Symbol Feature

This feature is a lot like those featured in many land-based games I have seen whilst browsing casino videos on YouTube. You collect six bonus symbols to trigger the feature, after which the idea is to fill the screen with more bonus symbols – fill the screen, and you will win the games Grand Jackpot.

You begin the feature with three spins, but this counter is reset back to three each time an additional bonus symbol lands on the screen. There are 20 spaces to fill, and I managed to get about 14 bonus symbols on my first attempt.

Note that special bonus symbols can only land on the top row – this includes the special collector symbol, jackpot symbols, and the mystery symbols. The main reel area contains nothing but bonus symbols during this round.

The collector symbol is represented by a mine cart and will be filled with the value of all bonus symbols shown on screen until its countdown reaches zero. A collector symbol that is assigned a countdown value of 3 will stop collecting treasure after three spins, whereas a collector that is assigned a value of 9 will likely keep on building up your win for much of your bonus round. This is the reason for the extremely high cost of the top two bonus buy options detailed below.

Bonus Buy Feature

It’s very useful for a reviewer when a game includes a bonus buy feature. It’s massively frustrating for me that these features are banned in my country. In Dwarfs Fortune™ video slot, the bonus buy feature is particularly useful as it lets you choose from four different bonus rounds.

  • 40x Stake – Six bonus symbols plus a single mystery symbol
  • 80x Stake – Six bonus symbols, one mystery, plus one 3x collector symbol
  • 250x Stake – As above, but the mystery symbol is now a dwarfs mystery symbol and the 3x collector has been upgraded to a 9x collector symbol.
  • 500x Stake – For this completely outrageous amount you will begin the bonus with six bonus symbols, a dwarfs mystery symbol, and two fully stocked collector symbols. 500x your stake though…? Wow.

Dwarfs Fortune™ Slot Review Final Thoughts

Wow, what a ride. Wazdan have got something special going on here – were it not for the arbitrarily assigned winnings cap of 2,500x your stake, I would recommend this game whole heartedly. As it stands, this a fun, unique, and exciting slot that deserves your attention – but get ready to be angry if you ever hit that winnings cap and are forced to watch as a huge chunk of your money is taken away. This game deserves a 9, but I have to reduce this to 7.8 on account of the win cap.
