Everest Slot (Four Leaf Gaming) Slot Demo & Review

I’ve long been fascinated by whether the British climbing duo of George Mallory and Andrew Irvine reached the summit of Mount Everest back in 1924. Many believe they didn’t, but the old romantic in me thinks they were the first to reach the top of the world before tragically plummeting to their death upon descending Chomolungma. Will we get a definitive answer in Four Leaf Gaming’s Everest slot? Probably not, but what I can tell you is that this 5-reel game offers up to 100,000 paylines, has a high RTP of 96.45%, and comes with a maximum win of 28,600x bet.

We have seen previous games from this particular developer packed with features, and Everest seems set to follow that trend. First, there’s the inclusion of avalanche wilds, which can increase in multiplier value as they fall down the reels. Then we have the fortune maker bonus, where winnings can be gambled in a Plinko-style game, and huge prizes can potentially be won. The free spins, of course, are the biggest bonus offering in the game, with the avalanche wilds not resetting between spins and the bonus played out on the full-size grid with 100,000 ways to win. Additional features include nitro spins, which increase your chances of success in the base game, and there’s a bonus buy feature, too, for those eager to get straight into the free spins round.

The pursuit to summit Everest is as strong as ever; just check on Google, and you’ll see them queuing up along the mountain. Thankfully you get a shortcut to the top and don’t have to endure the freezing cold temperatures by simply accessing our free demo slot of Everest, which is available to play below.

Everest Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols

Everest Slot Paytable
Everest slot paytable

Everest is a really interesting theme for an online slot, and as I mentioned in the introduction, it has long been speculated whether Mallory and Irvine did indeed summit the mountain in 1924, or was it, in fact, Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay who were the first to reach the pinnacle as the record books currently state. One thing is for sure, Hillary and Norgay were certainly the first to descend and make it back to base camp. The legend was further fuelled back in 1999 when Mallory’s body was discovered on Everest, but Irvine was nowhere to be found, and he had a camera with him too. Does that hold the evidence that could shake up history? I guess we’ll never know. If you’d like to play some similar games to Four Leaf Gaming’s Everest, I’d suggest looking at 9K Yeti or ELK Studio’s Katmandu X. Okay, let’s move on and see what the pays section has to offer.

Starting at the top of the paytable, we have several Himalayan tribal masks. The purple mask is the highest paying at 10x for a five of a kind win, followed by the red mask at 5x. Then we have the yellow and blue masks at 4x and 3x, respectively, with the final premium symbol being the green mask valued at 2x for a complete line of five. Next, on to the low pays, and these are represented by five royals which are the Ace worth 1.2x for a full line of five, the King and Queen both paying 0.8x for a line of five and finally, the Jack and Ten, both of which pay 0.4x for a five of a kind hit.

Starting your expedition on Everest can begin from just €0.10 a spin, with the maximum bet size reaching €30 a play. I considered there to be a good selection of stakes to play at within this range, with six possible options being available between the minimum bet and €1.

Base Game & Modifiers

Cash Pandas Slot Base Game
Cash Pandas slot base game

Cash Pandas is a highly volatile cluster pays grid slot played across a reel format of 7×7 totalling 49 positions in which symbols will appear. For a win to be awarded during gameplay, you’ll need a minimum of five matching symbols to land adjacently. This will trigger the avalanche mechanic and cause all winning symbols to be removed from the reels. New symbols then drop down to replace them, potentially giving you extra chances to win from just one paid spin.

Giant Symbols

At the beginning of any spin, a giant symbol of either 2×2, 3×3, or 4×4 may randomly appear on the grid. If a win is generated using this symbol, when it is removed from the reels, it is guaranteed to leave a wild symbol behind. Furthermore, 2×2, 3×3, and 4×4 giant symbols count as 4, 9, and 16 symbols of the same type, respectively.

Battery Charge

If the battery charge symbol appears, it will add either 5 or 10 points to the collection meter. Once the points have been added, it will transform into a wild symbol.

Collect Meter

Each symbol involved in a win and removed by an avalanche is worth one point and will be added to the collect meter to the right of the reels. The first three steps on the meter take 25 points to fill, and when this is achieved, a unique power-up will be added to the queue. Once all reel tumbles are completed, the queued power-ups will spring into action. These could be any of the following:

  • Random Wilds: Adds up to 7 wilds on the grid.
  • Symbol Conversion: Picks a random symbol on the grid and changes them all into another symbol.
  • Symbol Removal: Choose a symbol and removes them all from the grid.

Everest Slot Bonus Features

Everest Slot Free Spins Feature

There are two bonus rounds to play in Everest, with the first of these being the free spins feature. This is triggered by landing 3, 4, or 5 scatter symbols which will award 10, 12 or 14 free spins, respectively, or by the reels reaching 10 rows in height, which will give you 10 spins to begin the bonus with and one additional spin for each win you hit after the 10th row. Should your bonus then pay over a certain threshold, which is unstated in the game rules, you’ll get to play the Fortune Maker feature which is like a game of Plinko.

Free Spins

Before the bonus begins, you can gamble any number of your current total via the Bonus Booster to try and win more. You can reach a maximum of 22 spins, but beware of landing in the red zone, which will end the bonus with immediate effect.

Once they get underway, the free spins bonus round is always played on the largest reel formation of 5×10, with 100,000 ways to win and an avalanche wild being added to the top of the reel on every spin. The avalanche wilds increase their multiplier as they do in the base game but will change the avalanche wild multiplier value for the entire reel, which will not reset between spins. All subsequent avalanche wilds will start at the current reel’s multiplier.

Fortune Maker

If the predetermined threshold is met, then you are offered the chance to risk your winnings on the Fortune Maker game. This is very similar to Plinko, and once the ball starts down the path of pins, you will require it to land in a marked cart for the win on the ladder to be awarded., Each successful win will see a winning cart removed from the bottom of the game, making it more difficult to move up the ladder with each new ball.

Bonus Replay

If you weren’t pleased with the result of your free spins, you can take a gamble on the wheel to replay them again. Land n the green section and the feature will start again, whilst landing in the red will return you to the base game.

Game & Fortune

By activating the Game & Fortune menu, you can access any of the following.

  • Nitro Spins: Extra 50% cost on top of the current bet.
  • Free Spins: Costs 60x the bet to play.
  • Super Spinner: Costs 60x the bet to spin the wheel.

Pros

  • Plenty of in-game features.
  • Good max win of 28,600x bet.

Cons

  • Similar to a number of games from ELK Studios.

Final Thoughts

Four Leaf Gaming loves to cram its slots full of features and buy-in options, and if you've played Wild Buccaneers Megaways before, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about.I've spent many an hour watching Youtube videos on Everest, so this was a subject matter that was always going to appeal to me. As for our viewers, you might find that you like this slot as an alternative to ELK's offerings, or you might pass up on it and make your way to base camp before turning around and knocking back your chance at attempting the summit.
