This is a Camelot-themed slot that is heavily based on the legend of the Sword in the Stone. We’ve seen plenty of previous games, such as Clash of Camelot and Knights of Avalon, that made use of the legends of Camelot, but this is almost certainly the first machine to focus on the sword in the stone. The visuals and overall presentation are top-notch – I realise this is a subjective thing, but the graphics and animations used in Excalibur Unleashed really appeal to me personally.
Okay, we have what looks like a witch in a purple hat as the highest-paying symbol – she will get you 25x your bet for a full payline of five of a kind, whilst the rabbit symbol is only worth 10x for all five of his symbols. Likewise, the crown will get you 10x your bet for a complete payline, which is the same return as the crystal ball and potion bottle. As for the low pays, the higher royals (AKQ) are worth 5x the bet or five of a kind, whilst the lower ones (JT) are only worth 4x the total bet.
There’s no problem with the betting range – the minimum/maximum bets have been set at €0.20 and €100.00 per spin. There are plenty of other bets available too, so whatever rate you enjoy playing slots at, you’re sure to be catered for here.
Base Game & Modifiers
The playfield used in Excalibur Unleashed features an unusual layout with three symbols on each column, whilst reels two, three, and four feature five rows each. With just twenty fixed pay lines available, this strange layout can make it quite difficult to hit anything at times – at least in my experience! All symbols require at least three matches on adjacent reels starting from the left to award a win, and you can win several times from a single spin.
Expanding Wilds
Whenever a wild symbol lands on the reels, it will expand vertically and randomly obtain a multiplier between 2x and 20x. Should more than one of these symbols make up your winning combination, the multiplier values will be added together before being applied to your win.

I think that Pragmatic Play has done well here – Excalibur Unleashed differs from their typical releases, yet it still boasts an interesting feature set.The maximum win does undoubtedly let it down, but there are dozens of Pragmatic slots that we could put into that bracket where the highest you can win is 5,000x the bet. Nevertheless, this game is still worth a few spins, at the very least.
