Fatstacks Miami Cash (Blueprint) Slot Demo & Review

If you prefer your slots to come with some serious “gangster appeal”, then you really couldn’t ask for a title with more street cred than Lucksome’s Fat Stacks: Miami Cash! Some players will undoubtedly find this name to be more cringe than cool, but I’m sure there will be plenty more that will crack a wry smile at the developer’s decision to name this machine as they have! The game offers 4,096 pay ways and a 96.11% RTP, but the statistic most likely to catch your eye is the game’s top prize; with a 15,000x stake maximum jackpot on the table, you certainly can’t deny that this game has the skills to pay the bills!

The “Fat Stacks” part of the title refers to a brand-new play mechanic, according to Lucksome. The way it works is that when two or three matching symbols land on the same reel, they will consolidate into double or triple symbols – a fat stack, as it were – increasing the number of pay ways beyond the game’s natural maximum. The game also includes the developer’s trademark Luxpots, which are scatter-pay prizes paid according to a secondary paytable displayed to the left of the main reel set. We also get randomly activated modifiers, a free spin-based bonus round to keep things interesting, and a bonus buy facility for those living in regions where such features are permitted.

Are you cool enough to drive down the Miami coast in your open-top all-American hot rod waving some fat stacks around? If so, you can’t afford to miss out on our free Fat Stack: Miami Cash demo! It’s available to play below:

Fatstacks Miami Cash Paytable

I couldn’t really remember playing any earlier titles from Lucksome that featured their Luxpot prizes, but searching our database, I did stumble upon one game – Bon Bomb Luxpots. It turns out that I was the one who reviewed it too, scoring it a respectable 8.3 around a year ago! With that in mind – and especially considering that it’s an excellent game with sticky symbols and a 25,000x jackpot – I’m really a little shocked that it wasn’t a little more memorable. I think I may have been suffering from some level of Megaways fatigue back when it was released, perhaps, and I’m honestly pleased to see that Lucksome has decided not to go down that route with Fat Stack: Miami Cash.

The primary paytable is headed up by a diamond symbol offering a maximum return of 30x the total bet for a complete payway of six. There are also four different types of lucky seven – the red flaming variety is worth 10x for all six symbols, followed by the ice blue, pink/purple, and silver versions, all of which share equal returns of 4x the current stake for a full pay way. As for the low pays, the developer has opted for traditional fruit machine-style symbols for this section of the pay table. The bells offer 3x the total bet for all six symbols, followed by the BARs at 2x, the cherries at 1.6x, and the X symbol at 0.8x. We’ll talk about the secondary paytable and Luxpots in the next section!

As for the betting range, those with smaller bankrolls will no doubt appreciate the ability to bet as little as €0.10 per spin, whilst the upper limit of €15.00 is probably more than enough to please most players. I’m pleased to report that there is also no shortage.

Base Game & Modifiers

Fatstacks Miami Cash Base Game
FatStacks Miami Cash base game

After loading up Fat Stacks: Miami Cash for the first time, you’ll be presented with a six-reel, four-row playfield with a regular total of 4,096 payways. I say ‘regular’ total because the fat stacks mechanic can increase the number of payways further. It’s not specified what the absolute maximum that can be achieved might be, but I guess getting a triple fat stack on all six reels would get you as high as 46,656 payways. Take that number with a pinch of salt though – it’s theoretically possible under the game’s rules, but that doesn’t guarantee that it’s something that could ever actually happen!

Fat Stacks

When two or three identical single symbols land on the same reel, they will merge into a single double or triple symbol – a “fat stack”. This also has the effect of doubling or tripling the number of ways to win via that symbol, and up to three of these stacks can form on each of the game’s six reels.

Luxpots

Three or more luxpot symbols landing anywhere on the playfield will award an instant cash prize, as shown on the table displayed to the left of the main reel set. Three luxpot symbols only pay 1x the current stake as standard, whilst all ten can fetch you a tidy 2000x your total bet. These values can be further increased via the modifiers described below or via the special “bonus luxpot” symbols.

Modifiers

Only one modifier of each type can appear on the reels during a single round or free games session. Modifiers will upgrade the prize ladder for the Luxpots in one of the following ways:

  • Shuffle: Increases the value of the prizes shown on the ladder.
  • upgrade: upgrades all prize ladder values to the amount on the rung directly above. A new higher value will be added to the top of the ladder for the 10-symbol win.
  • Transform: Transforms a random number of symbols on the reels into additional Luxpots symbols.
  • Merge: Merges the value of two adjacent ladder rungs so that they inherit the minimum and maximum number of symbols required to reach it. It can only appear during the bonus round.
  • Platinum: upgrades the prize ladder to one with higher values; can only be won using the free games picker at the start of a bonus round.

Fatstacks Miami Cash Slot Bonus Features

Fatstacks Miami Cash Free Spins Feature
FatStacks Miami Cash free spins feature

Fat Stacks: Miami Cash does not utilise a separate set of scatter symbols to trigger its bonus round, which is definitely a positive as it prevents a situation from occurring where two sets of useless scatters can act as blockers for other wins. You’ll need at least one Luxpots Bonus symbol to trigger a bonus round.

Free Spins Feature

Before the bonus round begins, you’ll be presented with the free games picker. You’ll then proceed to pick boxes until you select three boxes with matching numbers of free games, which is the number that you will subsequently be awarded. You can also reveal up to two platinum upgrade symbols, increasing the value of the Luxpots prizes for the free games session.

Bonus Buy

The bonus buy menu has three selections available, the most expensive of which is dubbed “double lux” and offers 20-25 free spins at a cost of 300x the total bet. Unusually, the most expensive option is supposedly the least volatile of the bunch in this game.

The cheaper options are the “Delux” and “Xplosive” modes, costing 100x and 60x the total bet, respectively, in return for 15-25 or 10-25 free spins.

Pros

  • A huge jackpot of 15,000x the total bet.
  • Lots of features to experience and explore.
  • Massive luxpot prizes, especially if you can score both platinum upgrades!

Cons

  • The standard paytable prizes are a little small – you’ll definitely need the Luxpots to get close to this game's maximum payout.

Fatstacks Miami Cash Slot Review Final Thoughts

The name might be silly, but the gameplay and jackpot on offer are certainly not! I had a blast testing this one, and I’ll definitely be adding it to my real money playlist that's for sure.
