Fishin Frenzy All Stars (Blueprint) Slot Demo & Review

In 2022, NetEnt launched a new online slot dubbed Superstars. The game featured an “all-star cast”, including several of the developer’s best-loved characters and elements from their favourite slot machines. Now it seems that Blueprint is getting in on the act with their own ‘Fishin’ Frenzy All Stars’, a new game that incorporates bonus rounds from Eye of Horus and el Torero as well as the familiar Fishin’ Frenzy style bonus round. The game has ten fixed paylines, a 94.22% RTP, and a maximum win cap of 50,000x the current bet. However, I’m not sure how realistic that last figure is, considering that the biggest line hit only runs as high as 500x the current bet!

The base game doesn’t have any special or unique features and plays just like the original Fishin’ Frenzy machines, but the ‘All Stars’ bonus game is definitely a little bit special! Depending on the number of triggering scatter symbols, you can win between 10 and 20 free games. Before the feature begins, the game will offer you the choice of three types of free spin bonuses: Fishin’ Frenzy, Eye of Horus, or El Torero. Each of these modes works similarly to the bonus round in the corresponding slot machine, with one small difference: the fisherman will make an appearance regardless of which game is chosen! I have to say it seems a tad surreal seeing the fisherman spinning in on the Eye of Horus!

It’s great fun seeing several of your favourite slots rolled into one like this! I’m not sure if Blueprint’s way of doing things is quite as impressive as NetEnt’s, but you can check it out for yourself with our free demo slot of Fishin’ Frenzy All Stars, available to play below.

Blueprint hasn’t abused its prize franchise quite as much as Pragmatic Play has with the Big Bass Bonanza games, but we are still building up quite the collection of Fishin’ Frenzy slots here at Demoslot! The most recent addition was Fishin’ Frenzy The Big Catch Megaways, and before that, we had a standard Megaways variant, a Prize Lines version, Power 4, Fortune Spins. It’s seemingly endless. At least this ‘All-Stars’ game provides a little extra variety, but you have to wonder how much more a single franchise can be milked before players lose interest!

All of the familiar Fishin’ Frenzy symbols are back once again, starting with the fisherman who pays 500x the current bet for five of a kind this time around. The Pelican will pay you 200x for a complete payline, while the rod is worth 100x the current bet whenever all five symbols appear. The life preserver and tackle box both have a return of 50x the current bet for five of a kind, and any combination of five blue fish symbols will pay you 20x the current bet. The five low-paying royals all share the same payout of 10x your stake for five of a kind.

You never know what you will get when it comes to the betting range in Blueprint’s slot machines. This time around, the minimum/maximum bets have been set at €0.10 and €50.00, respectively.

Base Game & Modifiers

Fishin Frenzy All Stars Slot Base Game

The basic gameplay of Fishin’ Frenzy All Stars is extremely similar to the original version of the game. The machine uses an identical five reel, three row playfield, and the same ten fixed paylines. As ever, the fisherman symbol acts as the game’s wild and will substitute for all other symbols on the paytable except for the scatters.

It’s a shame that Blueprint hasn’t included any additional base game features or modifiers to make things a little more interesting, but at least the line hits are reasonably valuable. All the excitement comes in the three main bonus rounds, so let’s discuss those now.

Fishin Frenzy All Stars Slot Bonus Features

Hitting three or more boat scatter symbols during the base will trigger the All-Star feature. A three-scatter trigger will award 10 free spins, while four or five will award 15 or 20 spins, respectively.

Free Spins

Before the bonus round begins, the game will offer you a choice of three feature styles:

  • Fishin’ Frenzy Feature: Every fisherman that lands on the reels will collect the values of all fish symbols currently visible on the screen. This feature mode cannot be re-triggered.
  • Eye of Horus Style Feature: Every fisherman that lands on the reels will expand to cover the entire reel where it lands. Next, all high-paying symbols will transform to match those visible on the tablets displayed at the top of the reel set. The game will add one additional spin to your remaining total each time a fisherman appears. If two or three fishermen appear, the game will add three or five spins, respectively.
  • El Torero Style Feature: Each fisherman symbol that lands in this mode will become sticky for the remainder of the bonus round. This should theoretically make it much easier to hit a full pay line of the highest-paying symbol, although I didn’t have much look on that front during my testing of the game! Like the Fishin’ Frenzy feature, the El Torero style feature cannot be re-triggered.

Pros

  • Three popular features all incorporated into one slot.
  • A solid maximum win of 50,000x bet if it is actually achievable.

Cons

  • The RTP falls below the general online average.
  • Nothing new or exciting has been added to the base game.

Fishin Frenzy All Stars Slot Review Final Thoughts

It’s definitely fun to see elements from multiple slots combined in this way, but the core gameplay of the Fishin’ Frenzy base game is growing a little samey for me by now. Unfortunately, I expect most players will probably try each feature mode a few times and then forget all about this game.
