Flip Royale Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
The theme is quite strange – you have the typical royal symbols like almost every other online slot, whilst the high-paying symbols are represented by ancient coins. I’m not really sure how these ties in with the title “Flip Royale” – perhaps they name the game after their favourite modifier in the base game?
The paytable adjusts in line with your current bet size, which is an excellent thing to see on an any online slot. The wild symbol tops out the paytable with a return of 10x your stake for five-of-a-kind. The paytable then moves on to “Medium Wins” immediately, which seems a bit strange. The coin with a crown on it pays the same as the wild symbol at 10x your stake for a full payline of the symbol, whilst a silver coin returns 8x, a bronze coin pays 6x, and a coin with a horse’s head on it pays 5x. These wins are very low for a ten-pay line slot machine – it seems that that Flip Royale is hiding something which will boost winnings significantly.
Setting your bet size is simple enough, although the screen which appears after clicking on the stack of coins is really quite amusing. The minimum bet is €0.10 per spin, whilst the maximum bet is €100.00 per spin. As usual, the smaller bet sizes are quite granular with lots of options for low rollers. High rollers are stuck with jumps from €25 to €50 to €100 per spin…. Who plays slots at that level? I’d really love to know.
Base Game & Modifiers
The base game in Flip Royale online slot is as basic as they come – a 5×3 playfield with ten fixed pay lines doesn’t sound like a very interesting setup -there is nothing innovative going on here.
At the same time, however, there is a single modifier which almost saves the day somewhat…
Coin Flip Feature
To trigger the coin flip modifier, you will need to land a full vertical stack of matching coin symbols. Each time this happens, the stacks of coins will duplicate there selves into three more matching coin symbols which can appear anywhere on the reels.
If multiple stacks of coins happen to land on the same spin, all of the generated symbols will be wilds rather than coins. During the coin flip feature, any additional reels which become filled with coins will also generate additional wilds. During the free spins feature, this modifier is expanded even further, giving you huge possibilities to hit massive wins.
Flip Royale Slot Free Spins Feature
You can’t miss the scatter symbols in this game – Flip Royale online slot features a free spin bonus round that is triggered by hitting three or more scatter symbols. Three scatters award six free spins, whilst four scatters will award you ten spins and hitting all five scatters will grant you the maximum of 20 free spins.
There isn’t much to say about the free spin feature in his game – I works exactly the same as the base game. There is one key difference, however – during the free spins round the coin flip modifier is guaranteed to activate on every spin. This means you will undoubtedly end up with far more free spins than you were initially awarded.
Furthermore, when you fill reels with matching coins during the free spin feature, the game will add at least three wilds to the screen in random positions. This is where the big money is, and whilst you can only win 433x from a single spin, you could potentially win that amount several times during the free spin bonus round.
Flip Royale Slot Review Final Thoughts
I really want to say that this is a fantastic game, as I had a lot of fun playing it whilst testing for this review. Unfortunately, however, I cannot shake the feeling that the pay-outs are extremely small for a ten-pay line game, and I never managed to win anything particular impressive despite spinning this slot for a good couple of hours.
It’s definitely worth a look – you may enjoy it -but for me, there are already hundreds of better online slot machines out there to play.
