Florageddon Slot Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols
Oh wow, what game can I possibly compare this to? I mean, there are Zombie Apocalypse games, and then there’s that 1980’s cult-classic movie “Little Shop of Horrors”, but nope, I can’t think of much in the way of terrifying plant-based apocalyptic slot machines to share with you; I’m afraid! I suppose you could always watch the walking dead and pretend the zombies are all plants. If you really have nothing better to do, that is. Oh! I will say, the music in this game is extremely atmospheric and will fill you with dread in no time… it suits the theme perfectly, so kudos to Yggdrasil for that one!
Paytable then! We’re going to have to go with the colour of each of the terrifying flowers, as there’s no way I will come up with a recognisable description for each of them! Actually, I’ll try, where possible, but if all else fails, look for the border colour that matches what I describe. First up, the red evil sunflower is worth 5x your current bet for a full pay way of five-of-a-kind, though do remember that as this is a both ways pay slot, this effectively means all of these figures are doubled. Next, the purple group of three nasty looking things is worth 2x for all five, then you have the green jellyfish like monster plant at 1.25x, and finally the blue… something at 1x. Bizarrely, the four medium-paying symbols are represented by street furniture, such as a fire hydrant, lamppost, and “turn right” road sign, and all these are worth between 0.8x and 0.6x for full pay ways of five-of-a-kind. The four low-paying royals are worth 0.5x each for a set of any five of those.
Betting options range between €0.20 and €100.00, with many intervals at the lower end of the scale. If you want to bet much more than €10.00 per spin, you better be prepared to increase your bets in huge chunks!
Base Game & Modifiers
It all sounds a little bit strange so far. Still, to be honest, there isn’t too much unique about the base game – the pays-both-ways mechanic does make the 243-pay way design a little bit more interesting. However, you are still looking for three or more matching symbols from either left to right or right to left to score yourself a win and three or more scatter symbols for a bonus round.
Things get a little more interesting with the modifiers, but rather than triggering randomly, these mods will kick in on the next spin after you fill one of the dropdown meters above the main reel set. From left to right, these correspond to:
- Double Wild Modifier: Two empty spaces will be filled with wild symbols.
- Multiplier Boost Modifier: Both multiplier values on either side of the reel set will be boosted by 10x.
- Wild Stack Modifier: One column will be filled with three wild symbols, with a further three stacked wilds above them if you happen to hit a winning combination using the initial set.
- Extra Life Modifier: A non-winning reel set will automatically be cleared and a new set of symbols will drop into place, giving you a second shot at landing another win without losing the multipliers you have earned.
Florageddon Slot Free Spin Feature
The free spins feature requires three or more bonus symbols to be triggered. The minimum of three scatter symbols will award seven free spins, whilst four or five will award nine or 11 free spins, respectively.
The free spins feature plays out similarly to the base game, except that your multipliers on either side of the reels do not reset in between spins. You can reach some truly huge multipliers because of this – I saw more than 100 on one occasion, but remember, you still need to get lucky and hit a big win whilst those multipliers are active for them to be of any genuine use.
I may just have been unlucky, but in my experience, wins seemed much more frequent earlier on in the feature when the multipliers were low compared with later on when I had huge multipliers on either side of the screen yet couldn’t manage anything more than three-of-a-kind combinations. Hopefully, you will have more luck!
Bonus Buy
There are two bonus buy options available – the first costs 200x the regular bet and awards a random number of scatters and, therefore, a random number of free spins; either seven, nine, or 11.
If you have the stomach for it, you can also choose to bet 800x the regular stake for a special feature with 16 free spins. The returns from this feature can be enormous – I came out in profit several times whilst testing this mode. If I was playing for real money, however, I’m not sure if I would have the stomach for such a massive investment in a feature.

Yggdrasil rarely disappoints, and Florageddon is yet another top game from the developer. I especially appreciate that these guys never pump out typical slots – there’s always something special and unique about their games, and that alone makes this one worthy of your time.
