I’m back with a review of the latest slot in the Fortune Gems series from Jili Games, and I’m intrigued to see how it plays compared to its predecessors. Why? Because the original wasn’t very well received here, and the sequel earned a much better rating, so I wonder which side of the coin this one falls on. Fortune Gems 3 has the same 3×3 reel configuration that also offers an independent win multiplier reel and is a medium variance slot with a 97% RTP and 10,125x maximum win.
Visually, Fortune Gems 3, as you’d probably expect, looks practically identical to both previous releases. You’ll also find that it plays almost identically, too, as all three have the same reel format and the same multiplier reel that could ramp up wins by multiplying them by up to 15x. There have been differences, though, and in the third offering, we’re introduced to split symbols, which can increase symbol wins by 2x or 3x. Aside from that, though, it’s more of the same on Fortune Spins 3.

Fortune Gems 3 Slot Base Game
Aside from a new split symbol mechanic, Much of the base gameplay is the same as what you’d experience in the previous two titles. There are three reels, three rows, and a fourth independent reel that reveals multiplier values. You win a payout every time three matching symbols land across one of the five paylines.
Win Multiplier Reel
A feature of the previous titles, the Win Multiplier Reel makes a return on Fortune Gems 3. It is to the right of the three main reels and holds multiplier values of 1x, 2x, 3x, 5x, 10x, and 15x. If a winning combination is created, the multiplier in the central position of this reel is applied to its payout.
Split Symbols
The main, or even only real addition to Fortune Gems 3, is the Split Symbols mechanic. Regular symbols can appear split into two or three, which means winning combos featuring these will receive a split reward of 2x or 3x, respectively.
Extra Bet
For 50% on top of your current bet, you can spin the Fortune Gems 3 reels with a guarantee that all wins will have at least a 2x multiplier applied. The 1x multiplier is removed from the Multiplier Reel when this option is activated.
Fortune Gems 3 Slot Bonus Features
Neither of the two previous Fortune Gems slots had a bonus game unless you count a spin on a Lucky Wheel in the second instalment as a bonus. If you were hoping for one this time around, unfortunately, it seems not having one is a feature of this series, as, again, there’s nothing of note.

If you’re a fan of Fortune Gems and Fortune Gems 2, you’ll likely enjoy the third instalment, too, as they're all very similar, after all. The first was barebones, the second added a Bonus Wheel that could spin in up to 1,000x, and Fortune Gems 3 has brought split symbols to the party. I’ve been a fan of what Jilli Games has done in recent years, but this one, and the series in general, is a bit ‘meh’ to me.
