It’s one thing that modern casino games now feature graphics almost as good as you’ll find in video games, but it’s another thing altogether to play games that are basically video games that you can win money on. Essentially, that’s what fishing games are. You shoot at fish and win multipliers of your stake when you destroy them. I’ve played a few of these now, so I am quite excited to see what the latest one to hit my intray has to offer. As for its name and basic stats, we have Fortune King Jackpot, a fishing game from Tada Gaming with a 97% RTP and a maximum win of 2,400x the stake.
When you power up Fortune King Jackpot, you’ll probably assume it is some kind of video game. There are four cannons, meaning up to four players can play simultaneously, and in the middle, an endless supply of fish swims around. Each has a payout value if they’re destroyed/caught, with the player dealing the last damage receiving that payout. You can choose your targets manually or set up an autoplay feature to do it for you. It allows you to select the types of fish you want it to target and set win and loss limits. I actually preferred playing the game that way, as my aim is pretty terrible. Along the way, special features can trigger when you shoot certain fish; a meter fills to the side of the reels that, once full, gives you some powerful free ammo, and two mini-games trigger when you kill the biggest fishes in the pond. Plus, every kill gives you a chance of winning one of three progressive jackpots.

Fortune King Jackpot theme, stakes, pays & symbols

Back to Fortune King Jackpot, and it can be challenging to know which fish to target, but the general rule of thumb is the bigger they are, the more they’re worth. Normal fish pay between 2x and 20x the stake, while Giant Medium Fish are worth between 10x and 100x. Then, there are Crab Feature Fish that trigger features I’ll describe later that return between 120x and 800x. Bigger money is available by capturing Awakening Boss fish such as the Mermaid (100x – 1,200x), Ancient Crocodile (100x – 1,200x), Thunder Dragon (50x – 1,980x), and Fire Phoenix (100x – 1,200x). However, it’s the Lion Dance (30x – 2,800x) and Fortune King (3130x – 3,400x) that you’ll want to aim for whenever you see them.
You can play for between €0.01 and €10.00 per 30 shots. By that, I mean you receive 30 shots of the cannon for the stake you set. Make sure you keep an eye on your balance, as it is debited automatically as soon as you press the fire button once your 30 shots are used. It’s easy just to keep on shooting and not realising how much you’re spending.

Special Weapons
If you want more firepower, you can activate one of two weapons for an increased stake.
- Tiger Power: This costs 5x the current spin bet and is far more powerful than the regular cannon.
- Dragon power: For 7x, you can use the Dragon Power, which locks onto targets and also has a chance of capturing other fish species within its range.
Crab Features
Capturing crabs in the fishing area triggers the following:
- Bomb Crab: If you capture this crab, it will cause a huge chain bomb explosion that could capture other fish in its radius.
- Drill Crab: Capturing a Drill Crab allows you to choose an area to launch it. It will travel through schools of fish before exploding. Again, that explosion can capture other fish in its radius.
- Hammer Crab: This will unleash the power of thunder onto the gaming area. The force is so strong that it could capture all fish on the screen.
- Wheel Crab: This triggers a wheel game that could deliver payouts of up to 800x the stake.
Special Features
Fortune King Jackpot also has several special features:
- Vortex Fish: Triggered randomly, this will suck in all fish of the same type into the fishing area.
- Lightning Chain: Capturing the Lightning Chain will trigger a lightning chain that captures fish one after another until the chain stops.
- Flame Bomb: Triggered randomly, a powerful flame bomb can attack random fish in the fishing area.
Awakening Bosses
Killing the Awakening Bosses can lead to big payouts but also trigger special limited power-ups. For instance, killing the Mermaid or Ancient Crocodile gives you increased bonuses for capturing fish for a short time. As for the Fire Phoenix and Thunder Dragon, these can lead to power-ups that can deliver wins of up to 1,200x and 1,980x, respectively.
Fortune Jackpot King
As for the bigger features to aim for, there are two mini-games that trigger when you kill the biggest fish, a Free Deep Sea Whirpool mode, and four progressive jackpots.
Free Dead Sea Whirlpool
To the right of the reels is a charge meter that slowly fills when you shoot targets. Once it is full, you can activate that feature to receive a free deep-sea whirlpool that will attack all fish in the fishing area.
Lion Dance & King Fortune Bonus Games
- Lion Dance: Killing the Lion Dance symbol can reward big payouts and will also trigger a Lion Dance feature. The Lion dances on the screen and bombs the fishing area in the process. During this feature, a win multiplier can increase up to 7x.
- Fortune King: This triggers when you capture the Fortune King fish. A jackpot multiplier can increase up to 300x and could also be multiplied by up to 5x. The King draws items from his bag, with coins paying 10x and carp paying 50x – 100x.
Progressive Jackpots
Above the reels, you’ll see the Mini, Major, and Mega progressive jackpots and how much they’re currently worth. Their values continue to increase as players play the game, and 0.30% of players’ stakes contribute to those progressives. At a minimum, those jackpots are worth 200x, 600x, and 2,500x, respectively. Players stand the chance of winning one of the progressive jackpots at random whenever they capture a fish.
