Game Overview

Do you think there are aliens out there? And if you do, do you think they’d want to invade this planet should they clap their eyes on it? Considering the damage we’ve done to it, I’m not sure they would. Besides, if they have the tech to find us, they have the tech to find planets in a much better condition than this one. It’s all mute anyway, as according to Amigo Gaming in their latest release, Fruit Invaders, we’re more likely to get invaded by fruits. That’s right; we’ll get wiped out by fruits that will lob their pips at us and zap away with their juice. Fruit Invaders is a 5-reel, 3-row, and 30-payline slot with a 96% RTP and an admittedly pitiful maximum win of 1,200x the stake.

While you might think Fruit Invaders is just another fruit-themed slot, it actually has a good number of features. In fact, three bonus games can trigger randomly when crystal symbols are collected. One is a Pick’Me game that could land you up to 500x the stake, another is a Pin Win game that could trigger a jackpot worth up to 300x, and the other is a free spins bonus with extra wilds.

Ready to find out more about those bonus games and the slot in general? Then read on, or alternatively, fire up the Fruit Invaders demo below to check it out for yourself.

Theme, Stakes, Pays & Symbols

Alien invasion themes are fairly common in slot games, as ray guns and green-headed creatures always help to bring out the inner child among slot players. If I had to pick out some of the better slots featuring aliens, at the top of my list would be SG Gaming’s Invaders Megaways. It features a 6×7 setup with up to a million ways to win and a fantastic free spins bonus. Another is BGaming’s Alien Fruits, a scatter pays slot with a 15,000x the stake maximum win.

In this section, we cover the symbol payouts on the slots we review, and on Fruit Invaders, it is the Red Seven with its 40x the stake return for five in a row that offers the best. The Bar rewards up to 30x, the Bell and Watermelon can both deliver wins of up to 10x, and the Plum, Lemon and Cherries all have a 1x top return.

One thing I’ve noticed about AMigo Gaming slots, at least with the demos, is that the minimum stakes are usually higher than what you usually find on slots. On Fruit Invaders, the lowest stake supported is €0.30, and the maximum you can bet is €60.00 per spin

Base Game & Modifiers

Fruit Invaders uses a common 5-reel and 3-row reel configuration, and across the playing grid, there are 30 fixed paylines. Line up three or more matching symbols on one of those paylines, and you’ll get paid according to the slot’s paytable.

Crystal Symbols

Pink, Green, and Purple symbols can appear anywhere in view, and when they land, there is a chance they’ll fly away and get replaced by regular symbols that complete or enhance a winning combination.

Furthermore, each symbol can also trigger the following:

  • Pink Crystals: Could trigger the Pin Win Bonus.
  • Green Crystals: Could trigger the Free Spins Bonus.
  • Purple Crystals: Could trigger the Pick’Em Bonus Game.

Pick Em’ Bonus

The Pick’Em bonus is the only one that you can’t really consider a main bonus game. Essentially, you continue picking positions until you land three of one type. The rewards you can potentially win are:

  • Regular Prizes: 5x, 6x, 7x, 8x, 9x, 10x, 12x, or 15x, the stake.
  • Green Award: 10x.
  • Blue Award: 50x.
  • Red Award: 100x.
  • Ultraviolet Award: 500x.

Fruit Invaders Slot Bonus Features

The two bonus games on Fruit Invaders are a Hold & Win-style game and a free spins bonus. Let’s see how both of these work in full below.

Pin Win Bonus

Once triggered, a 5×3 grid already contains 5 coins holding values of up to 300x the stake. You receive an initial 3 re-spins of all positions not holding a coin symbol, and each time a new one lands, those re-spins back to 3.

The bonus game continues until you run out of re-spins or win 1,000x the stake by filling all positions with coins. The coin values that can land are:

  • Regular Awards: 5x, 6x, 7x, 8x, 9x, 10x, 12x, 15x, 20x, or 30x the stake.
  • Mini Jackpot: 50x.
  • Mid Jackpot: 100x.
  • Max Jackpot: 300x.

If you run out of re-spins, you receive the combined value of all coins collected on the reels.

Free Spins Bonus Game

The final bonus game is a free spins bonus. You receive 24 free spins of the reels that now contain more wild symbols. It is possible to re-trigger the bonus from within, while triggering either of the other two bonus games is also possible.

Pros

  • It is one of the more feature-packed titles I’ve reviewed from Amigo Gaming.
  • The theme is fun, if somewhat unimaginative.

Cons

  • The minimum stake of 0.30 is on the high side.
  • The maximum win is just 1,200x the stake.

Fruit Invaders Slot Review Final Thoughts

Fruit Invaders is one of the more entertaining slots from Amigo Gaming that I have reviewed, but while it has a bunch of bonus games, it is not the most visually appealing slot and has a very low maximum win. For those reasons, it probably wouldn't make my playlist. However, I’m sure some of you will be able to look past those downsides and enjoy what Amigo Gaming has put together.
