Game Overview
Fruits and slot machines go way back – right to the very early days, in fact. However, while the first slots would feature a few fruit symbols, just a handful of reels and paylines, and barely any bonus features, many modern fruit-themed titles utilise more complex payout mechanics, huge grid-like playing areas, and the potential to create impressive payouts. Take Fruit Party from Pragmatic Play as an example. It has a big 7×7 grid, features the cluster pays mechanic, can deliver multiple same-spin wins via the cascading reels, and has symbol win multipliers that, when combined, reach up to 256x. Fruit Party has a 96.47% RTP and a maximum win of 5,000x the stake.
Those win multipliers make Fruit Party tick, as all symbols in winning clusters can have 2x applied to their payouts. If multiple symbols in the same combination hold those multipliers, they’re added together. Considering winning clusters can land as large as 15+ symbols in size, it’s possible to create impressive combined multipliers up to a maximum of 256x. That limit is the same in the free spins bonus, although individual symbol multipliers can now appear as 4x and 2x. The final feature is a buy bonus option that allows you to purchase the free spins bonus for 100x the current stake.

Fruit Party slot theme, stakes, pays & symbols
I felt very familiar when playing Fruit Party, and I’m sure plenty of you will experience the same feeling. Many of these grid slots are out there these days, and they often have a similar look and mechanics. This game reminded me of one slot, in particular, Pragmatic Play’s Sweet Bonanza. Yes, they’re different enough in some regards, but the gameplay, with exploding symbols, cascades, and multipliers, does bring some familiarity. Slotmill’s Fruit Smash is another, although the mechanic used is scatter pays rather than clusters. Other titles in this style that may interest you include Skywind’s Fruitopolis and Fruit Factory from Mancala Gaming.
So, what can Fruit Party pay? Well, there are eight symbols that can appear on the reels; one is a scatter, and the others are regular-paying symbols. The Strawberry offers the best returns, with 150x the stake up for grabs when 15+ combos are created. The Orange is the best of the rest with a top return of 100x, the Apple rewards up to 90x, the Blueberries and Plums pay up to 80x and 60x, respectively, and the Stars and Hearts deliver maximum payouts of 40x and 20x.
There’s nothing new about the betting range supported on Fruit Party, as it aligns with what’s on many other Pragmatic Play slots. What I like about the staking options supported is that there are over 35 of them to choose from, starting at a minimum of €0.20 and topping out at €100 a spin.
Fruit Party slot base game
Pragmatic Play loves developing grid-style slots, and on Fruit Party, we’re treated to yet another. The action takes place across a 7×7 grid, and wins are calculated using a cluster pays mechanic, meaning clusters of 5 or more matching symbols connected adjacently, either horizontally or vertically, will award a win.
All symbols involved in a winning cluster are removed, and more join the action from above the reels. The cascades continue each time new combinations are formed and stop once no new wins land.
Random Multipliers
Without a doubt, the random multiplier is what allows the Fruit Party slot to stand out. During the base game, each winning cluster has a random chance of having a 2x win multiplier applied to one or more symbols. If multiple multipliers are involved in a combination, they’re combined up to a maximum of 256x.
Fruit Party slot bonus features
Landing three or more scatter symbols anywhere in view will trigger the main bonus game on Fruit Party, which is a free spins bonus round. Regardless of the number of scatters that trigger the feature, 10 free spins will be awarded.
Free Spins Feature
As the bonus plays out, 3, 4, or 5 scatter symbols landing in view will deliver an additional 10, 11, or 12 free spins, respectively. No limit exists on how many times the free spins bonus can re-trigger. The only difference between this bonus game and regular spins is that the random multiplier can now appear as 4x and 2x.
Bonus Buy
You can utilise a buy bonus feature in both the demo version of Fruit Party and the real money version. It costs 100x the current stake and will instantly trigger the free spins bonus on the following spin.
Pros
- Above average RTP of 96.47%.
- There is a potential for some big cluster multipliers - especially in the free spins bonus.
Cons
- It's not as good as a few other slots using similar themes and mechanics.
Fruit Party Slot Review Final Thoughts
Grid slots with the cluster pays mechanic continue to be popular with online players, and Pragmatic Play now has a huge arsenal of these in its ever-growing portfolio. Is Fruit Party one of the best games in this collection? I think you could argue it once was, but after the introduction of its sequel, Fruit Party 2 and the amazing Sugar Rush and Sugar Rush 1000, I think this is a game that now has its work cut out to keep players entertained for any longer than 50 or so spins.
